cause those conditions. dublin westbound. eastbound three of five lanes were closed until about 20 minutes ago. they're all back open again. back to you. >> it is a messy clean-up in downtown walnut creek. look at that. after a water main burst, sending a massive geyser into the air. it looks like there could have been thousands of gallons just pouring out there. >> the images are pretty intense. we do know it was a loose cap, not a water main break. but east bay utility district will have to give us the details on what exactly happened. joining us is the sergeant from the walnut creek police department. tell us what happened last

night. >> the walnut create police department received multiple calls about a water break. and we saw water going to heights of 70 to 80 feet. at approximately 2:21 a.m. they were able to shut off the water. >> again, this is an east bay mud question. they did talk about a loose cap. did they have to repair anything? >> correct. they said it was a loose cap. they were able to put the cap in its proper place, tighten it, there are no more issues according to east bay mud. >> and the damages to any businesses, was there any? >> none at all. we sur vafd local near businesses, everything appeared

by police. he allegedly abandoned his stolen vehicle and tried unsuccessfully to carjack two people. he ultimately carjacked a third person but was confronted by police before he got out of the parking lot. he used the carjacked vehicle to ram one of their cruisers so officers opened fire, killing him. he was a multiple convicted felon. >> hours after investigators found a car off of interstate 880 in fremont, a couple hundred people held a candlelight vigil where 14-year-old ivan cruz died.

the driver of car who was running from sheriff deputies hit the 14-year-old in the crosswalk. >> it's a shame to lose someone this young. >> and the driver has still not turned himself in. >> cupertino's public safety commission called tonight's meeting. the added urgency stems from a recent accident that killed a 15-year-old, ethan wong, while he rode his bike to the high school. a gravel truck struck and killed him. >> a key witness expected to testify today in one of two

federal cases against five san francisco police officers accused of illegal search and seizures. these cases date all the way back to 2011. that's when the san francisco public defender's office released a video that shows them doing illegal search and seizures. another officer arrested has agreed to testify against his former colleagues. >> it is 4:37. suspended state senator leland ye will be tried by myself early next year. we broke the story back in april when he was indicted on corruption charges. he was among 28 others, including the former chinatown gangster swooped up in fbi raids across the bay area. the judge said he would keep ye and chow in separate courtrooms.

>> antonin torres was supposed to be in court to set a trial date. they say there is dna evidence linking him to the murder of a 15-year-old girl. her body was never found. >> at a neighborhood community meeting last night the police department said it wants to use the dron to get a bird's review during dangerous situations. but critics worry they'll use it to spy on people. >> to ensure that it would not be used to single out particular communities and to make sure it would not be infringing on people's first amendment rights or their right to privacy as well. >> we would like to use it
