we'll have your full forecast coming up in just moments. first want to check your drive. happy friday, mike inouye. >> i didn't warn my friends at home when the meteorologist says "great weather day," you better look out on the roads. this is 580 through dublin, a little haze in the air. this orange blob, the weather index thing, you'll likely get some more fog through the central valley. heading over toward the bay bridge, we do see a pretty smooth drive. no fog advisory issued. we'll continue to have wet roads around the bay. >> president obama heads to las vegas this morning to sign off on his plan to allow millions of illegal immigrants to stay in the u.s. legally.

critics say the president is overstepping his bounds. his plan offers temporary relief to as mmm as 5 million immigrants, including those who have been here for five years, have a child born here or came here as a child. but they must pass a background check and pay taxes. the government will focus on deporting immigrants who have broken the law, especially gang members and suspected terrorists. >> no one has given such an articulate defense, such a wonderful description of why it is we are deserving of action. >> the president has said before that he's not king and he's not an emperor, but he's sure acting like one. >> the president's plan won't happen right away. children who grew up here cannot apply for temporary relief until february. the rest next spring.

>> laura, thank you. the president's executive order covers only 5 million of the estimated 12 million or more undocumented immigrants living in the united states. since the plan specifically covers parents of u.s. citizens, dpa rights grou gay rights groups are wondering how marriage will be defined. >> if family relationship through marriage or blood is the only way you can seek recognition or seek to come into status, that will leave out tens of thousands, perhaps even hundreds of thousands of lgbt families. >> advocates for newly arrived immigrants are also concerned a big segment has been left out, especially those who have fled violence in central america. one of the stipulations is they have to have lived here for at least five years. so unaccompanied minors who have

flooded the borders recently would not meet the guidelines and be excluded under this plan. >> a massive 6 opinion 9 earthquake struck off indonesia. it happened just hours ago. scientists say there's no threat of a tsunami at this time. the country, however, still on edge from a 4.7 quake. >> police in pleasanton are looking for a man they said held up two separate pharmacies trying to steal prescription drugs. the incidents happened yesterday about half an hour apart. one is a safeway on bernal avenue, the other a walmart on rosewood drive. they say in each case the man handed the pharmacist a note saying he had a gun. a weapon was not verified in either incident. one of the attempts, the man

left empty handed. >> a union spokesperson said the stand down is normal procedure as safety standards are reviewed and the death is investigated. >> protests with the recent u.c. tuition hike are trying to get a few more hours the shut eye. this video tweeted out pun p by one of the protesters. another protester tweeted out this image showing the signs posted in the lobby of wheeler. this is the second night of protest at u.c. berkeley. students are furious over the decision to hike tuition every year over the next five years. they say they will not leave

until they freeze tuition and transparency is brought to the process. >> the decision to punish pg&e for an e-mail scandal could result in lower bills for customers in the future. the utility was find $100 million. the punishment is in response to an e-mail scandal where pg&e tried to get state regulators to give the utah favorable judge in one of its rate cases. in that case pg&e asked the state for $1.3 billion to improve the pipeline system following the pipeline explosion in san bruno that killed eight people. that could have caused gas bills to rise more than $5 a month. but because of yesterday's ruling, the bills might rise $3.50 instead. pg&e says it will appeal the decision. >> that decision also fined pg&e

tahoe, there's a high wind watch in place as we get into tonight. so traveling is going to become more dangerous as you head throughout friday night into saturday morning. and we're going to get quite a bit of snowfall tomorrow morning all the way throughout the afternoon hours, which is good news. but take a look at where we stand. mount tam almost up to 4 inches of rainfall just for the first two systems alone. north valley, two and a half inches on the valley floor. you know where we really need the rain? on our mountaintops because that's what needs into our reservoir. we're going to get even more rain as we get into this saturday. here's the deal this morning. we're have a lot of moisture on the ground. high pressure will try to build in for one day. as it does, it compresses all that moisture. it is going to get worse before it gets better. you can see where you're getting the degray. we're expecting more of that to

for us, we're looking at fog up in the north bay especially through santa rosa, napa and inland valley spots. for us, the bay bridge still nice and visible this morning. that will likely change as we head through the next couple hours. mike and i will be there to guide you through the changes. temperatures are mostly in the 40s and 50s. it's going to be cool, you'll need your jacket. you can leave your umbrella at home today with rain returning. i stop the fog on your futurecast. especially in sonoma county, we're going to get rich moisture at that point. that's all going to head to the south as we get to 3:00 a.m. on saturday. this system speeding up a little bit. what that means for you is a lot of this heavy stuff is going to come through while we're sleeping in the north bay. but it might be coming through as you're trying to get out of town. you can see the heavy moisture

coming through here. that's all going to be trachlg south with you if you're trying to get to southern california. for tahoe, it looks like this thing is just going to dump snow. that's the good news. we're going to get a pretty good break from the rain before we bring it back next thursday. sunday is your day for outdoor activities. it's going to be kind of soupy for the first part of saturday. then we take you to monday and tuesday. we'll get the sunshine for a few days with rain returning thursday into friday. i can tell you right now i'm looking at the first week of december and it is looking good for another series of storms. overall we're sitting pretty at this particular moment. we're slowly but surely chipping away at that historic drought. we're talking tahoe snow as well and a chance for you to meet sam and laura at safeway. hmm. yeah, we're on that coming up. >> and a chance to meet

christina as well. that's a biggie. thanks a lot. it's 4:49 right now. a housekeeper at an upscale yosemite hotel faces prison time and fines for allegedly stealing from hotel customers. jennifer downing is accused of 32 counts of first degree burglary. she's accused of stealing cash from rooms where she worked as a housekeeper. she faces seven years in prison and $350,000 in fines if convicted. >> a russian web site is live streaming video from more than 250 countries, that includes the u.s. the video comes from security cameras, web cams, even baby monitors. they can access the cameras because they are still set at their default passwords. security experts are urging
