the golden gate bridge, though, the a glow to the light and maybe that fog creeping through. we'll give you an update as traffic and weather go hand in hand. >> as long as it takes, that's how long protesters say they will take to the streets, blocking traffic, even trains. dozens prove they're even willing to be arrested. >> people angry over the michael brown and air garner decisions protested in the bay. a crowd of people managed to make it on to interstate 80 and shut down the freeway temporarily. this particular march began at the pedestrian bridge that crosses i-80. protesters and police squared off there before demonstrators made a break for the interstate. student police corralled one group och the road, another one would break right through.

>> amtrak trains are running through berkeley again this morning after protesters blocked the tracks last night. this is just a block from the berkeley amtrak station. protesters came face to face and some protesters even laid down on the tracks, staging a die-in. >> at one point the chp said up to 1,500 people tried to get on to the freeway. ultimately the chp arrested more than 150 people. they face a wide variety of charges, including resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer. >> before the protesters wound up blocking the freeway, they marched through the streets of berkeley. >> these killer cops must be held accountable! >> in a much different scene than over the weekend, no reports of major damage or vandalism.

many businesses in downtown berkeley sent their employees home early to help them avoid getting caught in the crowds. hundreds of people weaved through city streets and at one point did a sit-in. >> people are dying. for what? unarmed people? >> no justice, no peace! >> nobody's doing anything about it. it can be the fourth day or the fifth day. until somebody does something about it, we'll be out here i would think. >> there were no major confrontations. >> protesters also breaking windows have been met with police swinging batons and firing tear gas. >> the mayor told the police department tear gas should be a last resort. he said critiquing or requests from city leaders can make a tough job even more difficult,

especially when the chief is appointed by city leaders. >> it undermines the chief of police in terms of his or her ability to do their job. and it also undermines the chief of police with the officers of the department. >> he says being politically correct should not be part of the planning. >> the reverend jesse jackson is going to be in oakland to talk to teen-agers about what's been going on here in the bay area. he'll speak to high school students on police relations and community violence. now, the prosecutor in charge of the case that started this all released more grand jury documents yesterday but he's still holding ones to the fbi's interview with the man who was with michael brown the day he was killed. the attorney promised to make public witness testimony about the case. since last month he's released more than 5,700 pages of documents, but the fbi interview of the man who was reportedly

with brown when he died was missing from those papers. after questions from the media, the prosecutor released more documents including a transcript of the witness's testimony to the grand jury but not his interview with the fbi. less than a week after the shooting. the prosecutor says that interview might be related to a separate civil rights investigation. we'll have to see. >> the justice department released its findings from a federal autopsy of michael brown. a coroner found brown suffered severe injury to the skull, brain and chest and appeared to be shot in the hand at close range. the findings echoed those of two previous autopsies. >> if is exactly the kind of transparency some protesters are demanding. a florida sheriff asked for an investigation into one of his own deputies.

9:00, the southbound side didn't open until midnight. >> today parts of two major freeways are still shut down so crews can clean up debris and replace melted street signs. according to the l.a. times, one of the nearby building housing the city on aging and all of the gifts collected there were destroyed. >> it's been quite an active last 24 hours in los angeles and the bay area. >> and when it comes to the

area, i don't think we've seen anything yet. something big has come our way, right, christina? >> we're going to get a really nice day today. good morning, everybody at home. today the temperatures are going to be comfortable. look at the golden gate bridge, not a car to be found at this point. if you are going to cross that bridge this morning, we are expecting some fog to drift over. if you're headed that way this morning, some fog developing and some of that is creeping over to the delta. a half of a mile meanwhile for you in fairfield. travel cautiously out there. a lot of people are out and about at off-peak hours. as you can see right now, good visibility elsewhere south of the golden gate bridge. as we head throughout your day today, temperatures are going to remain comfortable. this is your last full day to get your storm preps ready. a lot of wind, a lot of rain on the way as of tomorrow.

period than we've had in over 12 years here in the bay area and i want to make sure you are ready for it. after all, we have a lot better technology than we did 12 years ago so we'll able to gauge that for you a lot better. you're on your way to about 64 degrees today. the last full day for storm prep. that means clean out those storm drains or your neighborhood couldnd up lo end up looking li. this one is packing a punch. here's the deal. in the bay area, typically you have a storm system that's going to bring you a lot of wind or a lot of rain. this one's going to bring us a lot of both, a rain and wind event. basically you want to clean out the storm drains, bring loose items indoors. we're talking about frequent gusts to 50 miles per hour, mostly on thursday. also, if you live in a flood-prone area, we're going to see creeks and rivers rapidly
