>> they will need umbrellas today. >> no question about it. we're in the middle of a nor'easter. al, we turn to you for that big story. >> it is literally double trouble. we will start in the northeast with this nor'easter. we have flash watches in effect and coastal flood warnings the 1/2 feet above normal and wind delays at the airport so far and we have winter storm warnings and watches and winter weather advisories, at least 5 million people affected by this. you can see the heavy rain moving in. pink and white. philadelphia, cloudy, rainy, it will continue already. philadelphia rain delays have started airport delays as well as. we have warm air coming in, cold air behind it where this snow sets up. it kind of lingers. a secondary system forms and that brings in all the heavy rain.

look at these rainfall amounts. 3-5 inches in some spots. back behind the system we have a lot of heavy snow, upwards of 18 inches of snow in parts of central new york on to new england. it is a mess out there. let's head to dylan dreyer. she has the latest on the wet weather pounding the east coast. >> reporter: hey, al, we have been in the thick of this storm for hours. 40 to 45 miles an hour. this is a coastal storm. you can see that the ocean is very rough. we will see coastal flooding, especially as we continue through this morning and into this afternoon. once those high tide cycles move in. we will also see flooding inland because of the fact we have inches of rain falling from this storm system. that will accumulate on the roads. keep in mind, do not drive through those flooded roads. it's hard to judge just how deep that water is. as we continue through the morning we're looking at winds to gust as high as 55 miles an hour. that can toss around loose

cul-de-sac. a small jet plane spiraling to the ground and slamming into three homes setting off an inferno of exploding jet fuel. inside an upstairs bathroom, 36-year-old marie gimmel was trying to shield her children. the fire was so intense, neighbors and arriving firefighters were unable to reach them. >> we have confirmed the loss of the three family members of the family. >> reporter: marie's husband was at work. and the 5-year-old daughter at preschool. >> neighbors looked out and were stunned. >> to look out and see ball of flame from your house was terrifying. >> reporter: the plane was attempting to land at montgomery airport. all three on board the plane also died including pilot michael rosenberg, the ceo of a health care company who crashed another plane at the same airport four years ago. just before yesterday's crash,

alleged victim for the first time. peter alexander has more. dwm to you. >> good morning to you. specifically this morning we are hearing from the alleged victim, jackie's father and her former uva roommate. her father told the tabloid his daughter was not a liar and defended her claim she was gang-raped even offering a simple explanation for any flaws in her accounts. with the university of virginia community still in crisis and new questions about the "rolling stone" article and victim jackie's account, jackie's father is vehemently defending his daughter. she told the truth he says and that jackie simply got the fraternity's name wrong when describing where she says she was gang raped. she did not know the details of the fraternity because she had been there two weeks and she was 18 years old.

he also condemned the intense scrutiny saying the media crucified her and defending her roommate, clark, saying jackie's story is not a hoax, lie or scheme. after the "rolling stone" later called its trust in jackie's story misplaced, jackie writes it was her trust misplaced in "rolling stone" and the sororities are demanding they now be reinstated. three national groups in the greek system are calling for the uva to apologize for a rush to judgment they say has hurt the organization and students. >> it's fundamentally unfair to hold these responsible as a group. it's very difficult to explain why members of a sorority are being suspended because of a rape involving a woman on campus. >> reporter: but uva's president isn't bulging the greek organizations will remain suspended through the end of the year. in a letter to uva to parents

because he deserves it. so, we're a little nervous but we're excited for more people to know of his story. >> as i understand it, you had an opportunity to show him a cut of the film before he passed away. what is that like, that moment? >> i was in the editing room and found he had gone to the hospital. louis, it would be important for him, for everybody to know, he was 97, living alone, was sharp, funny and went out on his feet. i put the film on the laptop, held it over and had the great honor of watching this extraordinary mountain of a man watch his life and relive the events of his life and remember his family and it was a very profound and very moving moment. and then he said something silly and funny and i left the hospital room realizing that he took care of me and made me feel okay about his passing.

entire report but we have the general findings. let's bring in andrea michelle. she's our chief foreign affairs correspondent. some of the headlines are extremely damming, andrea. >> they are. i just came from a briefing from feinstein's staff on the hill. they include the enhanced entertation or torture as she referred to them were not effective, cia provided inaccurate information about its effectiveness to the white house and public and the hill. the cia's management of the program was inadequate and deeply flawed, the cia will acknowledge that, i'm told. the cia program was also, the senate said, far more brutal than represented to policymakers and american public. the big question we were asking is what did george w. bush know and when did he know it. he told us today while he approved initial authorization for secret prisons back in september, right after 9/11 september 27th, 2001, that he did not know the details of these enhanced techniques or

torture until 2006 after cia inspector general questioned the cia directors, two directors and they said they never briefed him. there's also some cia memos, a cia briefer asked shoot president know about this, potus does not need to know. what he knew and when he knew it. doesn't mean dick cheney and other people didn't tell him privately but there's no paper trail to indicate president bush knew prior to 2006. >> stand by, there's a lot of disagreements on findings of this report between democrats and republicans. >> absolutely of the president has weighed in on it this morning. moments ago issues a statement in part, no nation is perfect. one of the strepgts that makes america exceptional, our willingness to confront our past, make changes and do better rather than another reason to refight old arguments.
