down the freeway.fender bender . we'll show you the map coming down the freeway. with the temperatures, the moisture in the air likely going to affect your roadway and not your drive. a crash in fremont. i just got word of a crash at west 580. reports are a crash just happened at west 580 approaching dublin. i'll show you what's going on coming up, guys. back to you. >> we are following breaking news out of southeast asia this morning where a jetliner is still missing. it is believed airasia flight 8501 crashed into the sea.

162 people were on board that flight from indonesia to singapore when it disappeared right off the radar. shortly before losing contact, the pilot did ask to change the route because of stormy weather. the families are gathered at the singapore airport hoping for good news. >> we'll stay strong and do whatever we can. >> the aerial search has been suspended because of nightfall. 12 ships are working to find the jetliner. there are 5,000, 6,000 indonesians living in the bay area right now. many are familiar with airasia. it is often the on way to taffel from one island to another.

many of the passengers on flight 8501 were likely going there to usher in 2015. >> just a spirit where people are going for holiday and mostly the passengers of the airplane, they were planning to have holiday breaks and spend new year's eve in singapore, but it ended up like this. >> this is the third separate incident surrounding malaysian based airline. the consulate tells us airasia does have a good safety record. >> crews are waiting for daylight to remove a truck from a north bay beach. the driver of the truck couldn't make it across the road and went

cleared. it may be fox moving on to 68 and not 58. the earlier crash has moved to the shoulder. but a look at our san raphael camera shows you a little glow. it's not there anymore. it was there at the temperature of your screen. christina was talking about the possibility of snow as well. >> the ordeal is over for just some of the passengers rescued from a greek ferry that caught fire at sea. for others still stranded on board, the rescue of thes continue. >> and a surfer's dangerous brush with a great white shark.

people stranded onboard. the ship has floated in rough seas between greece and italy making further rescue efforts difficult. they hope to have everybody off the ship by nightfall. >> a surfer says a great white shark bit him on his hit. he used the core on his surf board to make a tourniquet for his leg. we're told he should be okay. it happened near san luis obisbo. the beach is not closed. it happened about ten miles from where a young woman was killed by a shark in 2003. >> authorities are searching for

a missing sallinas teen-agers. she was last seen wearing a pink tank top and pink sweat pants. she might be in gilroy or san jose. anyone with information is asked to call police. >> police around the bay area are already looking for drivers letting their holiday celebration get the worst of them. in san mateo police set up a detail and within within the first 15 minutes many of them were pulled over. today state senator is announcing a little that allows if their care is tremendous.

this week high pressure takes control and will keep our temperatures rather mild. temperatures will be cool enough for a coat all day long. we'll see a lot of sunshine. as we progress throughout the afternoon, that wind is going to pick up. we have a weak cold front coming through that's going to kek up the wind and really give us a cold blast of air. that brings us from the upper 50s today to the low 50s tomorrow in san jose. as we head to yesterday, we'll on hit 52 as your high in san jose and 54 in san francisco. meanwhile, we'll start to see the temperatures moderate as we head back into the weekend. you can see what's happening, all this moisture wrapping around that big ridge of high pressure. as we head into monday of next week, ridge breaks down, high pressure retreats to the east and we see the storms coming up. police, i've done my homework for you. i know what new year's eve looks
