stopped just inches from on coming cars. a full weather forecast is just ahead. now to paris, a city in morning following the deadliest terror attacks in decades but also a nation gathered in solidarity. holding french flags and signs reading "je suis charlie." it was the largest rally in french history. there were no political speeches. even more powerful, this image of french hollande locking arms with 40 world leaders including german chancellor angela merkel benjamin netanyahu and palestinian president mahmoud abbas. announced mobilization of 10,000 army personnel as the manhunt continues. last night empire state building lit in the colors of french flag dimmed at 9:00.

it is college football's biggest day. ohio state and oregon face off for the national championship. tonight at at&t stadium in arlington, texas, it will be packed with over 100,000 screaming fans. and that is where we find nbc's jay gray this morning. jay, be honest do you have a different? >> i have a favorite. it is that we now have a college playoff system. it is great to finally have a championship decided by a playoff. i think we're all winners. look it will happen in texas in a state where football is king in a stadium everybody calls a palace. they will crown oregon or ohio state as the newest royalty in the college football world. the fans are here and finishing touches are just about done outside and inside at&t stadium. >> we're very excited about this playoff. we've been waiting over two years. >> two years since ncaa decided
