female bomber isn't freed hours from now. isis post add new message purported purportedly using audio recording of japanese surviving hodgkin jie goto. >> i'm kenji goto. this is a message i've been told to send to you. >> he goes on to say if jordan doesn't meet isis demand the pilot will be killed. according to jordanian tv a minister was ready to meet a 24-hour deadline by tuesday and release the female suicide bomber in exchange for release of the pilot. japan's prime minister said they are analyzing the recording but they believe it is authentic. he told parliament they are asking jordanian government for help so both hostages are released. no word yet on the jordanian government on this new deadline. there is a new problem threatening airline flight schedules across the country and it has fbi on alert. sense saturday at least 20

different u.s. passenger planes target by bomb threats on twitter. tweets claiming to be from isis may be pranks but federal officials have no choice but to take them seriously. nbc's tracie potts is live from washington. tracie this is causing all kinds of trouble for airlines passengers and the fbi. >> sure. well, we already had bad weather this week. now over the last several days these bomb threats as well coming in through twitter. it has made a very difficult week for the airlines. not only spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to deal with this but it's been a huge inconvenience for passengers. they can't afford not to take everyone seriously. they have to ground the planes get everyone off, go through the bags. no bomb found by the fbi is investigating. twitter is cooperating. they have suspended the accounts

that are involved in this. meantime the fbi is saying it looks like it could be pranks or it could be copy cats not necessarily isis. some of those tweets were very specific like we are isis. we are here as in here on the plane. or we have planted explosives. in one case we know fighter jets ended up accompanying those planes as they were grounded. it may not be real in terms of isis but it's a federal fine punished by five years behind bars and a quarter million dollar fine. >> something to take seriously. tracie potts for us. we appreciate it. just days after a small drone crashed on the white house lawn purportedly by accident this morning there's a massive concern for the super bowl in phoenix. homeland there to review operations. an x-ray machine designed to scan trucks for explosives and contraband in minutes. also on the watch list drones.

>> reporter: keeping the crowd safe at fan attractions and on game day is no small task. federal, state, local authorities have joined forces and reacting the see something, say something campaign. authorities say they have received no specific credible threats on the super bowl but on the lookout for anything including lone wolf-style attacks. >> keenly aware while majority of people view super bowl as the culmination of the football season others see this as a high-profile targetoon world stage. >> reporter: a bit of a dress rehearsal before the big game, it put crews behind getting ready for super bowl play. in years' past they have been held in different locations. >> been a lot of sleepless nights. yeah we're looking forward to it. >> reporter: the logo painted on, fields rolled out for prep work and rolled back in and a stadium and security force ready for sunday.

all glendale and phoenix police will be working every day this super bowl week. frances, that is more than 3,000 officers on the street. thank you. >> in phoenix arizona, thank you very much. there is only one place to catch super bowl xlix all day sunday right here on nbc. patriots, seahawks. make sure you don't miss it. it started as an argument between former lovers at a bar called trammps and ended like this. before the chase two ex-lovers led to shots fired and people injured. police responded. they said they got another call driver the victims cars on the way to the hospital. a third passenger dar reduce johns, who goes by miss d pulled a gun out of his hello kitty purse and fired. he didn't hit anything. police captured the shooter after a chase that ended in a crash. miss d was also arrested.

island of nantucket devastated by this storm. 70-mile-per-hour winds left thousands without power with some fleeing to shelters to avoid flooding. restricted to utility vehicles only some as far as canada. the island remains in a state of emergency. here is a picture from massachusetts near boston. it shows massive waves crashing on the coast right before high tide. nbc meteorologist bill karins here with tuesday -- thursday forecast. we don't want to do that. that's when the storm was starting to end. >> really amazing picture. crashing waves beautiful enough but waves with spray coated in ice. that's different. you don't see that very often. pretty rare. let's talk about the super bowl forecast rain headed in. a close call how long it sticks around. we're looking at plenty of clouds not too much hitting the ground yet. that will change tomorrow. let me show you how this will

play out. as far as the timing of the rain goes the white just shows you the clouds. as we go throughout the evening, that's when some rain comes into the picture, maybe after everyone home from work and school definitely rain to phoenix and tucson heavier rain cold in new mexico for areas of snow. by the time we get into friday another band of rain is possible right over the city. so we're going to have some of our festivities there getting soaked. they do a lot of stuff outdoors for the super bowl before the game is actually played. by saturday it starts to move out a little bit. but saturday night it's over and looks like the big game should be dry. not fun for make its way into california where the mountains continue to lose snowpack. a very important snow survey is going to be done in the

breaking often malaysian investigators have officially declared disappearance of flight mh 370 an accident. they concluded during the march 2013 flight the plane exhausted its fuel supply while flying over southern indian ocean. officials said the search for the plane, which they believe is on the sea floor, is still a priority. the declaration paves the way for families to file compensation claims. other stories making news confirmation hearings continue on capitol hill for attorney general nominee.

this morning on "today," nbc's dillen drier reports from the blizzard battered island of nantucket. >> reporter: so it wasn't easy but we got object one of the first ferries back here to nantucket. we shared the ride with a resident who escaped the storm and a lot of utility vehicles and fuel trucks food trucks to restock some of the shelves here. we'll have all the very latest on how the island is picking up
