first, nbc's miguel almaguer is in seattle. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. certainly wild weather out west over the weekend. the so-called pineapple express delivering a one-two punch here, let's begin in washington state where the pineapple express, the atmospheric river dumped rain in washington state. one community flooded under 3 to 4 feet of watt e roads washed away. there was landslides in areas, the entire region is under a mud slide alert because the ground is so saturated. below us in california they also have their hands full of wild weather, they had significant winds and inches of rain. that state in a severe drought, though the storm delivered a lot of water it didn't help the snowpack. there was plenty of damage across this region this morning folks are drying out, the system moving out of the way we did get several inches from washington state to california. matt, back to you. >> i'm going to take that from you.

we are looking at more wet weather in the pacific northwest. the good news is not as much as we had been seeing, we have high wind were waings and flood watches in for the pacific northwest and we watch more rain push through and as it does again, the scattered showers and thunderstorms you can see seattle right now they are looking at more wet weather, more rainfall, 1 to 2 inches but that will be it and that's the good news. back here in the northeast, we've got potentially crippling snowstorm going on. dylan dreyer is driving in the blue mobile on the streets of boston. how are things looking there? >> well, we already have more than a foot on the ground in boston and another foot is on the way. the roads are bad but the trains aren't much better. there is a disabled train on the red line track, the southbound side has been stuck for barometric pressure two hours. crews have been working to get passengers off of the train safely and now forced to walk out in the snow which is miserable in and of itself.
7:04 am
for the roads we're seeing them completely snow covered, taking a look out you can see we still have reduced visibility because of the steady snow. the banks are getting higher which is understandable considering we had about five feet of snow fall in a couple weeks. there is no travel ban in effect because the thinking is instead of this being a powerful hard hitting nor'easter this is more of a long duration steady snow event so the crews should be able to keep on top of this. either way the roads are slippery, icy, back near albany, new york we have cars off the side of the road as this storm got started friday night. we expect to see steady snow throughout the entire day, and then for folks who are kind of sick of the snow unfortunately, al, as you know we could see more snow by the end of the week and programs some of the coldest temperatures we've seen so far this season. >> that's right. and in fact, we look at the snowfall amount, we've got the snowiest 30 days on record for boston, 61.6 inches of snow. and it's still coming down. new york right now a sleety

the israeli prime minister and president obama where speaker boehner invited benjamin netanyahu to address the congress to argue for more sanctions, something that the president doesn't agree with. does that feel like a dis to you? you probably have insight into this relationship between president obama and netanyahu. >> clearly they haven't gotten along, disagreed on a number of things. i think this has more to do with israeli politics and the fact that benjamin netanyahu has very close election two weeks after his visit to congres this was cooked up by people who wanted to promote his candidacy. unfortunately it's at the expense perhaps of very delicate peace talks. i regret that. >> let's talk politics. you are an expert on that. after 40 years as the book mentions you think bush versus clinton race in 2016 is good for the country? i know you're probably going to vote for the democrat. >> i like both of them, actually. i think you know, it's easy to say that but let's see what the
