camera took me. we're over here toward the bay bridge. we'll look at dublin as well. one spot we'll check a lot this morning. it's friday but you should see a lighter volume like you do right now. not a lot of slowing. that's where the camera was. overnight crews cleaning up. we did have construction northbound 880 coming up towards stephens creek and in san francisco we'll have a big visitor. you guys will talk about that. a big visitor, i think that is the entryway into this. president obama is in the bay area this morning. this is video of air force one arriving yesterday. he spent the night at the fair month hotel in san francisco. he's attending the fun raiser later tonight. first the president heads off to stanford. >> that is where our own bob

redell is this morning. >> reporter: president barack obama will speak here on a white house conference on skieber security protection. he's expected to announce the executive order that would be designed to make this country safer from hack attacks. the order would urge companies, especially tech companies here? silicon valley to share what they know about current cyber threats. the president choosing an executive order over ledge legislation. the president will be joined by some big names in the silicon valley, apple ceo tim cook. we spoke to a few of them that feel that by coming to the heart of the silicon valley that the president is sending a strong message that it's time to get serious about this digital age

hate crime. last night friends and colleagues held a candle light vigil. she's a medical resident there and her brother, his wife and her sister were shot and killed apparently as a result of a parking dispute. at the vigil some people expressed fear. >> i once felt safe and certain and a part of this community and now i'm uncertain and i feel unsafe. >> deah barra cat was raising money for a trip to a refugee camp. we told you about the early morning crash last wednesday involving a garbage truck and a car. the body was found next to the wrecked car a few blocks away from the crash site. now the girl's brother who wants anyone who knows anything to come forward to give the family

some closure. >> we feel like really for her and at the same time anger because we don't got no answers. we understand that tragedies happen. people have to pass away, even if it's our loved ones. but we will feel better if we have like answers to our questions. >> alex al ka zar is the registered owner of the car. police say he's a person of interest but so far have not been able to track her down. in a popular san jose road is getting downsized temporarily. the main road in willow glen is going on a diet. going to be reduced from four lanes down to two. the city will not only tighten traffic on lincoln avenue, but it's also going to add bike lanes in each direction. it's a test and it's going to go on from march until may. . >> and that strange gu that killed hundreds of sea bird last month has been identified, sort

our 50 shades of pink and red this morning, mike. you look really nice today. >> thank you very much. you know, it's the tie and a little bit of powder. we're looking over here toward the golden gate bridge. traffic flowing nicely. we have an orangish huge. but we also have the international orange bridge moving slowly. it's friday for construction crews as well so road crease cleared all over the bay. and that sign right there where i'm going to circle, that's the area where the president's security detail has blocked off some roadways. there will be some different traffic flow around california, sacramento. watch that area of mason through downtown. the bay bridge flows in and out of the city without major issues. we'll give you a wide look at the bay and you see there are no problems around the bay but we have a little slowing just start to kick in at altamont. even on a friday it happens.

a nice start for a friday morning. it's 4:42 right now. there's a condo in sale in san francisco. they're throwing in a creative park, free uber rides for a year. >> the one bedroom condo, it's listed for just under $800,000 but it doesn't come with a parking spot. so the seller is offering unlimited uber service for a year. one real estate agent says ride services like uber, lift and side car along with bikes and shuttles may have made the city dwellers less dependent on their cars. >> the entryway is beautiful, at least. >> that was a nice looking house. the markets are on the rise the morning. >> we'll are more on that and the rest of our news before the bell. we turn to cnbc at the head quarters. there's a condo available in san francisco, come on out, landon. >> perfect valentine's gift.

stocks will try to extend thursday's gains. the markets rally as investors cheered strong earnings and the cease-fire deal between russia and ukraine. energy stocks got a boost. crude is near $53 a barrel. look for data on up port prices. the nasdaq up 56 to 48.57. the highest level in nearly 14 years. americans will be spending on their sweet hearts this valentine's day. retail spending is expected to hit nearly $19 billion thanks to the improving economy. the average person will spend 142 with the majority of that for theirself or significant other. the rest will be spread out between family, friends, coworkers, pets, children's classmates and teachers. men will likely spend twice as much as women. sam and laura, back over to you. >> a lot of gift to go around. >> it's a good thing.

weather. it will not be bad out there at all. 67, you're back in the 60s by tuesday. in san francisco but still running about 10 degrees above average for this time of year. there are a lot of events happening outdoors for this weak end. last weekend we had to stay bundle up inside because of the rain. what a difference a weekend makes. we'll tell you what's going on across the bay area. >> it is 4:47 right now. an autopsy report is due to be released today of a man shot and killed by police in pasco, washington. he was shot tuesday. police say she was throwing rocks at cars and officers but witnesses say he appeared to be running away when he was shot. the death is the fourth fatal police shooting in recent months in pasco, washington. d.c. lawmakers are getting answers about a scary and deadly trail malfunction. last month month a packed metro train filled with smoke. one woman died.

dozens more were injured. now national transportation safety board leaders are scheduled to testify before a house committee about what happened there. passengers were stranded some 30 minutes before emergency crews arrived. faulty equipment is being blamed for an accident in southern california that sent 22 marines to the hospital for observation. this happened in a military training exercise. they were treated for exposure to a fire retardant gas. marine spokesperson says that none of those injuries thankfully for serious. military officials have agreed to allow hormone treatment for the former intelligence analyst. the treatment would allow bradley manning to make the transition to a woman. manning changed her legalized name, her last -- her name last april, rath, then filed a

delays down in toward the golden gate bridge where they've moved the center divide. over here i've circled the area, california, mason, powell, sacramento, that perimeter is a security perimeter. there's a special visitor in town known as the president. there will be crowds in the area obvious by because of the security detail. down to south bay, far from there, no problems. san jose over in the tri-valley, same thing for livermore. typical even on a friday. it's typical to go visit a family member to the hospital, happens every day. but not quite like this. >> this is an unusual case. nancy frank is in an iowa hospital recovering from a surgery. meanwhile her ten-year-old snau zer was at home. she arrived at the hospital, 20 blocks from her house and walked right in looking for her owner. >> she was 0 on a mission.
