the backup at the bay bridge. you know about that. i found a garbage truck off 101 in san jose. we'll check this out and see what else is going on for your build. >> live look outside the bay bridge. this is "today in the bay." breaking news. a stabbing investigation near san francisco's union square. our cameras were there as police made an arrest. >> testify steph is live at the scene this morning. investigators at one point were looking for other people who might have been involved as well. any developments there? >> officers at one point were looking around union square park for persons of interest. police were gone by the time they got here to the walgreens.

police have confirmed there was some sort of fight that broke out. in the end, at least one person was stabbed. this is a very popular tourist area. we've confirmed one arrest was made early this morning. there were several other officers walking with flashlights around union square park. they were looking for what appeared to be evidence as well as perhaps other people linked to this. there may be other victims. i'm not sure where the stabbing happened in the walgreens store. the store manager said that it's open 24 hours, but store hours may be until midnight, so the stabbing may have happened

before. we're still learning the details and we'll bring them to you. >> very busy area. thank you, steph. >> new this morning, investigators are trying to figure out what sparked these flames inside of a barn in napa county. the fire erupted around 8:00 last night on old sonoma road west of highway 29. firefighters say the 4,000 square foot barn was used to store and fix all-terrain vehicles, tractors and forkli forklifts. nobody was hurt. a group of men is inside a san jose liquor store moments before a security guard was shot and killed during a botched robbery for some cheap cigars. >> kris sanchez joining us now from police headquarters in downtown san jose. do we know if police are targeting a specific person here? >> we do know that they've seen at least one person that may be

connected. it's the same person that we saw in the surveillance video from the liquor store next door to where manuel zuniga was killed on saturday night. we are showing it to you now. this is what happens inside that store saturday night. and we have a source that tells us that police are looking for at least one of the four people you see walking into the liquor for less next door to that nightclub where zuniga was working. one man whose face is not blurred, the one who steals the case of cigars from the countertop. as he runs from the store, he trips, falls, drops the cigar. that's when manny zuniga sprang into action and someone in a car nearby shot him. >> i hope that somebody sees their faces and some good samaritan out there satisfies th -- identifies them. >> reporter: some folks who never knew manny zuniga have donated $10,000 for his family.

he leaves behind a wife and two children. the money will help, but what they want more than anything is justice. kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >> thank you very much, kris. we're getting our first look at two gunmen who took over a little caesar's pizza. police are hoping someone will recognize the unique weapon used in this robbery. police say it's either a break action pistol or a shortened shotgun. the clerk was shot during the robbery but is expected to be okay. thieves got away with some cash from the register. daily city police need your help finding a man who beat up a taxi driver and skipped on paying his fare. early sunday morning, the taxi driver dropped his passenger off near the cal palace. the passenger allegedly beat up the taxi driver, sending him to the hospital. a santa clara university student accused of stabbing his roommate inside their dorm room will be in court tomorrow. police say dylan kim stabbed his roommate yesterday, then cut himself. the roommate is recovering in

the hospital. tomorrow kim will be arraigned on attempted homicide charges. investigators have not said what led up to the stabbing. parents this morning say a san francisco school went too far when it passed out pamphlets containing questionable sexual material, they say. the chronicle reporting that children in second through sixth grades at star of the sea catholic school got pamphlets that asked questions like did i perform impure acts by myself or with another person, and have i had or advised anyone to have an abortion. parents say that their children are too young to know about these kinds of topics. today, senator barbara boxer is joining the conversation on vaccinations. she'll be talking about why she thinks it's important to get kids vaccinated against preventable diseases like measles and whooping cough. health officials say this latest measles outbreak tied to disneyland likely came from the philippines. lab tests show this particular

measles virus shares the same genetic material as the type most commonly found in the philippines. now, here in the u.s., at least 141 people have been diagnosed with measles so far this year. the majority of them are here in california. we are watching for the return of some fog this morning. it's 6:06 as we check your microclimate forecast and a live look way up there from the san bruno mountain. a little haze in the forecast. going to check in with christina. >> good morning to you, everybody at home. we have more low clouds than fog out there. fog touches the ground. the le clouds just kind of hover above 1,000 feet this morning. that's what does cause flight delays out of sfo. we're going to keep tabs on that for you this morning. right now, we're mostly in the 50s. good morning, san jose. 54 degrees for you in san

francisco. waking up with 55 degrees. so, as you head out and about this monday morning, this is what you can expect. your sun will rise at 6:58. warmer afternoon today by four to eight degrees on average. overcast skies for much of the day yesterday. and the sun will set at about 5:52. we love telling you about all the free events happening across the bay area. this one's actually a really great event. palace of fine arts community day from noon to 10:00 p.m., free admission. really comfortable conditions out there. and also, they'll be celebrating the lunar new year in san francisco at the botanical gardens. the year of the sheep. temperatures will be really spectacular out there, in the mid 60s between noon and 3:00 p.m. so everything starts at 9:00 a.m. it last s until 3:00 p.m. it's going to be a great day for outdoor plans. we'll tell you what else is going on throughout the bay area. want to check your drive. here's mike. >> we'll take you to the south bay where there are no fireworks going on, but a smooth drive

northbound on the 101, dale seeing a little bit of lighter traffic. now it will kick in for about 6:30. we do have a couple incidents. the earlier crash north 101 at shoreline, the off ramp, still reported on the right shoulder as a car did brush against that cement barrier, stayed there for a little while. we'll see if chp has anything to say, but so far no slowing. the disabled vehicle, 880 at 237 has cleared from the connecter without any issue and additional delays, but the smooth drive through milpitas. your typical pattern. and also a little farther at the right. sorted out to its typical

welcome back. good morning to you. i'm meteorologist christina loren. temperatures this morning just about uniform all across the board. we are in the low to mid 50s. on our way to the upper 60s. a warmer day. more sunshine on tap. and then things start to change. slight chance for shower activity over the weekend. we'll tell you why and when we get a more significant chance

for rain in just moments. and we're looking over toward oakland where we've already seen the build for the traffic kick in right here. we'll show you your slower spots and give you the update for the crash in san jose as well. we do have breaking news right now. search and rescue crews are scouring the mountain looking for a runner who never returned from his late night jog. the fiancee of nathan wilson called police when the san francisco man did not come home. crews are now searching the north side near alpine lake. other top stories that we're covering this morning, san francisco police have made an arrest following a stabbing inside of a walgreens. that's the one near union square. no word yet on the victim's condition. nearly a dozen vehicles including two tractors and a forklift were damaged at an overnight fire at a vineyard near napa county. the cause is under investigation. today the atherton city

council will talk about installing traffic lights and flashing pedestrian lights. the stoplight would be placed by selby lane. scott mcgrew. >> data into the newsroom just this morning show producer prices falling. inflation is a nonissue, guys, in our economy. that may encourage the fed to hold off once again on increasing interest rates. bumping up rates is a way of protecting against inflation, and there just isn't any. we do get the minutes from the fed later today. and like tea leaves, we're going to try to figure out what the committee thinks about interest rates. for years, i tried to convince you the fed and mortgage rates were unrelated, but that was back before the housing crash. now they're totally related. mortgage rates have gone up quickly lately, and in fact, last week, we saw one of the slowest weeks for new mortgage

applications because of those higher rates. "the new york times" says this morning kentucky's senator rand paul may declare his candidacy for president as soon as april. paul is an outspoken critic of the fed and the federal open market s committee, and he said if he were president, he would audit the fed, to which the fed points out they're an open book. they literally print out the balance sheets. you can show up at the corner of 20th street and constitution in washington, d.c. and pick up a copy. during quantitative easing, the fed spent more money per year than all 50 state governments did combined. so here's some simple mast. getting valentine's day flowers on february 15th or 16th or 17th, that's disappointing. people have been posting their late flower deliveries to twitter and facebook because of the horrible weather and the frozen flowers. though in this case, this one showed up not looking exactly like what the website promised. a number of flower companies apologizing this morning.

but in many cases, the weather was to blame, though. i think in the last case, that was the flower arranger. >> looked like some phony baloney to me. >> or a lion. >> thank you, scott. do you want some water? ask for it. that's one of several new restrictions being considered to combat california's drought. >> the state's water resources board is debating some new actual regulations. one would force thirsty restaurant diners to request drinking water. another would require hotel guests to ask for fresh towels and sheets rather than having them changed every day automatically. board members say the state simply isn't doing enough to limit water use. but we all need to do our parts as well. don't want the water? refuse it, ask them not to bring it to the table. >> californians are paying attention. we saw the water reduction rates were being maximized recently. time to check your forecast, as we give you a live look outside san jose. and christina, you were explaining the fact that we're seeing some low clouds this

morning. could be an issue for drivers. >> maybe, especially if you're going through the higher elevations. what you will notice is an overcast start to the day. thanks for waking up with us. want to start with your tahoe report for squaw and alpine meadows. after all, they're still out there making that snow steadily, and there's actually a slight chance for some snow showers on the very highest peaks of the sierra nevada. right now, 42 inches at the base. that's not bad. that's three and a half feet. so we have no new snow to tell you about. but they still have 54 runs open at squaw and 48 at alpine meadows. a lot of kids are up there for ski week, which is why we have noticed a little bit of a lighter drive. mike's going to have all the details on that coming up. right now, though, temperatures in the 50s. we've got that blanket of low clouds overhead. 53 degrees in the tri-valley. 55 in san francisco. 53 degrees in the south bay. the difference between low clouds and fog is fog actually touches the ground.

low clouds just kind of hover in the lower levels of the atmosphere. 60 degrees in san francisco. 61 degrees in the tri-valley. this is your lunchtime temperature in the north bay. 61 degrees. and then we'll round out the day in the mid to upper 60s. 69 in the north bay later on. 64 in san francisco. 67 degrees right here in beautiful san jose. more sunshine on tap for today. that is the weather story of the day. getting into the next couple days, we'll still be talking about those king tides. warming into the weekend, temperatures are going to return to the 70s just about everywhere, even at your local beaches for saturday. looks like a good day to make those outdoor plans. let's talk about high tide for the next couple days. we're going to continue to see the king tide. should be the final round of the winter season. seven feet, over seven feet for today and tomorrow. that's pretty high. 10:54 is your high tide for today. tomorrow, 11:47. so you do want to avoid the low-lying areas on a bike, even by foot. you might mess up your shoes.

could get all sloshy out there. overall, looking god for temperatures to warm up nicely and return to beach weather as we get into this all-important weekend. and you're almost there now. saturday into sunday, temps in the 70s and upper 60s, as promised. i'll tell you about the next chance for rain coming up. let's check your drive and say good morning to mike inouye. >> good morning, christina loren and good morning bay area. we have got your map started out the show you the north bay with no problem. no drama, no real slowing, 101 all the way down toward the golden gate bridge. but you have company there. the commute is kicking in. the east shore freeway moves slowly through hercules. a stall of some sort going on over there. don't have any more information. chp still arriving. a little bit of slowing just before you get to golden gate field. but we zoom in toward the maze. coming toward the bay bridge toll plaza where the metering lights are on, a pretty typical build and pattern for a wednesday.

maybe a little bit lighter for the east bay. but these schools, they're back in. christina's talking about the school week off for a snow and ski week, i guess. that will be in the south bay for a lot of the school districts there. we'll look over here heading down toward that area, hayward slows a bit. the earlier crash sais off of t roadway but might still be a distraction. typical pattern. over here, the tri-valley moves nicely out of livermore and in toward dublin. the earlier debris has cleared from the roadway. no surprises south. 680 slows through pleasanton. toward walnut creek, it is clear. northbound 101 and 87 through san jose kicking in for that slowing drive. over here north 101 in mountain view. the earlier crash still on the right shoulder around shoreline. i do want to catch one live camera. we're going to end with this live camera for dublin when we show you the volume of traffic westbound. it's easing up. half an hour ago, things were really slow.

now we're back to what you'd expect for this wednesday. that's better news. become to you. >> we'll take it. thank you very much, mike. a recent decision made by one major college is sparking a bit of a backlash from students. university of massachusetts at amherst has decided to stop admitting all iranian nationals to a certain engineering and science programs. it stems from a homeland security effort to prevent iran from developing its nuclear technology. until now, the government weeded out potential students seen as "risks." but the school is taking its own initiative two weeks ago. some students call it downright discrimination. the tank cars involved in that fiery west virginia train derailment last week were safer than federal law requires. the crash caused numerous explosions and fires. investigators say the crash involved tank cars that already had safety upgrades voluntarily adopted by the industry four years ago. now president obama is urging even tougher standards for trains carrying crude oil. we have a lot left to cover this morning. 6:21 right now. up next, the world series champs

giants. the garden at at&t park is going to serve a new purpose today. the giants have teamed with a local restaurant management company to teach kids about healthy eating. the children will visit the garden to learn about harvesting, preparing, and eating locally cultivated foods. >> get your kale cooking. seems like yesterday, giants fans were celebrating the team's third world series championship in just five seasons, but this morning, it's all a new fresh start, and a new year as the players are ready. >> can we make it 4 for 6? today pitchers and catchers headed to arizona for spring training. they'll hold their first workout tomorrow. a lot of the talk around scottsdale is surrounding the health and return of matt cain, but tim hudson and angel pagan as well. while spring training is typically the time for minor leaguers to prove they're ready for the bigs, the giant's roster is pretty much set barring any injuries. position players report to scottsdale next week. >> have you seen our panda? the red sox have already reported to camp and red sox nation getting an eyeful of pablo sandoval.

>> reporter: good morning, everyone. reaction from many immigrants who thought they'd be filling out applications today, very disappointed. reaction here in washington determined as the administration takes a look at now how they deal with this in the courts. today instead of applying for legal status to begin college here, andre is praying the courts will change this ruling. >> i really hope they touch their hearts, you know? i really hope they think about us. that there's people like us. >> as a mother, that scares me. that makes my stomach kind of turn over. that's really scary. >> president obama's order that puts up to 5 million undocumented immigrants on the back burner for deportation has been blocked by a federal judge in texas. >> political stunt. it's a hiccup. but, you know, that's the process. >> reporter: 26 states, led by texas, sued.

the judge says there will be no way of putting the toothpaste back in the tube if immigrants are allowed to stay here legally. >> we will not sit idly by while the president ignores the law. >> changing laws to the extent that he has is totally unprecedented. >> reporter: the justice department plans to appeal. >> i think the law is on our side and history is on our side. >> there is no amnesty. this is not about giving citizenship to anybody. >> reporter: for now, pro-immigration groups are making sure immigrants are ready to apply if this ruling is overturned. >> this process can be delayed, but we as a community will not be deterred. >> so it's up to the courts now. this is really just part one. the other part of this, parents of legal residents and citizens, they were supposed to be able to apply starting in may, but again now all that's up in the air. >> okay, we will see where the legal process goes from here. what is clear is that starting today, we are not going to be seeing those legal filings. thank you very much. meantime, president obama is planning to ask the congress to

back his military plan to beat isis extremists in iraq and in syria. the president is hosting a summit at the white house today focusing on violent extremism and threats both at home and abroad. other speakers will talk about the connection between extremism and faith, gender, and even the internet. it is 6:33 right now. taking a live look outside. we've kind of seen the precipitation, the fog kind of increase out there. christina's got a look at our microclimate forecast. how are we going this morning? >> you know what? we have some low cloud cover all across the bay area to start this morning and we are going to talk about that in just one moment. i want to start by giving you an update. this year so far in review, because as we told you yesterday, firefighters are gearing up for what could be a very active fire season across the state. and this is part of the reason why. gilroy, so far, 2015 in december, accumulated historic rainfall, and then we had zero rain in january. so very dry, and then so far,

this month, really looking good. three inches of rainfall as of early february with another round potentially as we get into the end of the month. here's the deal. right now we're at 110% of average when it comes to our rainfall for the year. so we're actually doing okay here. but we're seeing these waves of very wet patterns followed by very dry patterns. because of all that growth, firefighters definitely gearing up. we told you that yesterday. that's likely going to be one of the stories that you hear more and more about as we head throughout the next couple of months. temperatures right now mostly in the 50s. we really don't have any fog out there this morning, but we've got plenty of low clouds blanketing the bay area. 55 degrees in san francisco. 53 degrees in the north bay. to start the day at lunchtime, we're going to end up in the upper 50s to low 60s. cool enough for a jacket with an overcast sky at noon today. and we'll round out the day with some sunshine breaking through those low clouds. at about 3:00, mostly sunny and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s today. 69 degrees is the forecast high in the tri-valley.

67 degrees for today. looking nice and comfortable here in the south bay, and we do have a very slight chance for some shower activity as we head throughout this weekend. right now, the best bet looks like late sunday into monday with a more substantial opportunity as we get into the end of the month. i'm really bulls eyeing the 27th. so we're going to keep tabs on that for you right now. want to check that drive. here's mike inouye. >> good morning, christina. we're going to take a look here, folks. we're going to start with the bay bridge, where we have the typical backup. i did want to show you the beautiful view we're talking about. christina says low clouds coming around, but not yet impeding our view, so that's great news. yesterday, it took a little time to develop around the bay as well. a smooth drive here, but you do have the backup at the toll plaza itself. as traffic approaches coming off of 580, you do have a slower drive. typical on your approach. the east shore freeway itself moves very nicely. traffic continues to build here for northbound 101. this is in san jose just north of 680 and a typical pattern

here. a little slowing on the approach, and a little slowing as well through mountain view. if we can get out to your maps, we're going to talk about a slower drive as well. there's 580. we're going to zoom toward the rest of the nor bay. a little slowing westbound 80th. a little slowing westbound 80 in richmond. looks like it's cleared to the shoulder and your typical build there. no problems from the north bay. 101 at 37. we'll zoom out to the tri-valley. typical build for the tri-valley. dublin and pleasanton. southbound hayward, an earlier crash has cleared. there's your slower drive down in thwart fremont out of hayward itself. showed you where the arrow was. that live camera there. also a little slowing. we're going to end with our live look in palo alto. there was a crash that has cleared off of the roadway to the shoulder. the commute is just starting to build here at university. those are folks waiting to get on to the freeway at the onramp. >> good to know. >> the grind gets going.

morning. more breaking news. police investigating a stabbing near san francisco's union square. our cameras were there when police made an arrest. stephanie chuang live from san francisco. investigators at one point were looking for other people that might have a connection to this crime. where do things stand right now? >> that's right. good morning to you both. at one point, earlier this morning, officers were looking around mostly union square park. for maybe something related to the stabbing that happened here at powell and o'farrell, this walgreens 24 hours. this was earlier this morning where there was a stabbing. police confirming some sort of fight happened here and ended with at least one person stabbed and taken to the hospital. we are in a very popular area. this is across from h&m. people lined up here ready to hop on a cable car. two blocks away from here after 3:30 this morning, there were no lights and no sirens, but we did

see six police officers and one young man on the ground. he was cuffed and then put in the back of a patrol car. and there were several other officers with flashlights walking around the park looking for persons of interest. also saw a couple of them talking to people around there. mostly construction workers to see if they've seen or heard anythi anything. this walgreens was back open as of 6:00 this morning. live in san francisco, stephanie chuang, "today in the bay." >> still very much an active investigation there. thank you very much, stephanie. >> a busy area there. also new this morning, investigators trying to figure out what sparked these flames inside a barn in napa county. the fire erupted around eight o'clock last night around old sonoma road west of highway 29. firefighters say the 4,000 square foot barn was used to store and fix all terrain vehicles. luckily no one was hurt and the fire did not spread to the

tri-valley. so when we wake up and meet back here tomorrow morning, we'll tell you what else is going on across the bay area. i'll have your beach report and we'll take a better look at that shower chance, which i'm really watching for the 27th of this month. right now, he's watching your drive. let's check on that. here's mike inouye. >> the south bay is where things are really starting to check in. northbound 101 at 680. 280 is at the top of your screen. pulled back into traffic without any disturbance, but look at your map. there's a crash reported just north of here. and we don't see a lot of slowing, but this is your build. before you get to capital expressway all the way up toward sjc. 87, 280, and 85 all showing a typical pattern for san jose and the rest of silicon valley, but a little farther north, there are a couple of incidents. still that activity to the right shoulder. early morning, a car hit that. the cement over on the right-hand side. still there off to the roadway. and we're looking at north 85 as

well. just before you get to 101, we have a crash reported there at the tail end of 85. so that will be a distraction. sounds like your slow lane might be blocked as well. meanwhile, the rest of your peninsula moves pretty smoothly. a live look from foster city shows you coming off the high-rise. an easy drive. some low clouds. perhaps some haze in the area. not a problem for visibility right now across 92. we're showing you anywhere north of there on the peninsula side, an easy flow for 101. 880 slow southbound past the san mateo bridge and into union city. typical pattern there. same thing for the tri-valley a little farther to the right. we're looking toward the walnut creek interchange. a typical pattern there. same thing for the upper east shore and down toward the maze. the metering lights are on. that's your typical slowing. no major issues here. and southbound, still some slowing for 101 in through san rafael. back to you. >> thank you, mike. we're getting a new look this

morning at surveillance video that nbc bay area obtained that could help san jose police track down whoever shot and killed a security guard. >> kris sanchez live at police mechanics th headquarters this morning. are there any leads at all? >> reporter: they have not announced an arrest, but we do know they've seen the faces of some of the people involved in the incident that led up to the shooting of manuel zuniga. san jose police have the same surveillance video that we have that we're showing you now that shows what happened inside that liquor store on saturday night. we have a source that tells us that people are indeed looking for at least one of the four people you see walking into that liquor for less store next to the nightclub where zuniga was working. the one man whose face is not blurred is the one who stole the case and cigars from the countertop. as he runs from the store, he trips and falls, dropping those cigars and the liquor store owner tells us that's when manny zuniga sprang into action and someone in a car outside shot him. >> i hope that everybody sees

their faces and somebody, some good samaritan out there identifies them. >> and while the investigation continues, so does the fundraising for the family, friends, and even some strangers have donated close to $10,000 for the zuniga family. that is manuel zuniga's wife and two children. the money will certainly help, but what the family truly wants is justice. in san jose, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >> understandable loss for them. 6:52 right now. we are getting our first look at two gunmen who took over a little caesar's pizza. police are hoping someone will recognize the unique weapon used in this robbery. it's either a break action pistol or shortened shotgun. the clerk was shot during the robbery but is expected to be okay. the thieves got away with cash from the register. >> this morning, police look for a suspected prostitute who drugged and robbed a fremont man. she had some distinctive characteristics. the woman called herself crissy.

police released that picture of her yesterday in the hopes that somebody would recognize her. the victim hired her through a prostitution website, but when she got to his house, he says she drugged him, then let three men into his house to beat him up and rob him. meantime, a santa clara university student accused of stabbing his roommate inside the dorm is going to be in court today. the roommate is recovering in the hospital and tomorrow kim will be arraigned on attempted homicide charges. investigators have not said what led up to the stabbing. parents say a san francisco school went too far when it passed out pamphlets containing questionable sexual material. the chronicle reports children in second through sixth grades at star of the sea catholic school got the pamphlet that asked questions like, did i perform impure acts by myself, or with another and have i had or advised anyone to have an abortion. parents say their children are too young to know about those kinds of things. today senator barbara boxer

joining the conversation on vaccinations. she'll be at the head start center to talk about why she thinks it's important to get kids vaccinated against preventable diseases like measles and whooping cough. she's also introduced a bill requiring kids in preschools to get vaccinated as well. there's a new effort to improve safety on the streets of atherton. the problem, too many cars and not enough being done to protect pedestrians and cyclists. nanette miranda live in atherton this morning to explain some of these proposed changes. good morning, nanette. >> reporter: good morning, laura. well, the goal is to make this six-lane stretch of el camino real safer. the proposed stoplight is slated for el camino and selby lane. then pedestrian beacons which activate a flashing light when someone's about to cross the street, are being suggested for stockbridge, isabella, and alejandro lanes. if approved, all are expected to be installed by the spring of

2017. the city estimates more than 31,000 vehicles use that mile and a half section of el camino a day. it's considered unsafe because little is really being done to help pedestrians and cyclists coexist with speeding cars. an atherton resident was killed as recently as last summer by a car while crossing el camino. at the site of the proposed traffic light, caltrans says 50 collisions occurred during a nine-year period. they will consider the stoplight and pedestrian beacons at tonight's city council meeting. it's a study session, actually, and the city and caltrans hope to be able to help pay for the $900,000 project. live in atherton, nanette miranda for "today in the bay." >> thank you very much. closed door talks will resume this morning between the u.s. labor secretary and the two sides involved in the recent port dispute. secretary tom perez will be meeting with union leaders and leaders of the pacific maritime association, in an effort to end that weeks long dispute.

the secretary's office says tremendous progress was made during yesterday's meetings. secretary perez has stressed an agreement needs to be made soon to prevent further damage to the u.s. and bay area economy. shares in san bruno's virgin america are cleared for takeoff this morning. >> scott mcgrew, claiming quickly on some good news. >> up almost 9% this morning after the company said its revenue was up and the amount of money each passenger was spending was up. people buying those cheese plates, no doubt. you've got to try those. cost of fuel, of course, historically quite low for airlines. virgin america started trading just last november in the second-largest airline ipo in american history. also this morning, robert schiller was on our sister network cnbc saying he's thinking about taking his money out of u.s. stock markets, to which you could say, well, what does he know? the answer is he's half of the well-regarded case schiller housing report and he rekrcentl won a nobel prize in economic.
