high-end call girl charged in the deadly heroin overdose of a google exec. alex tickleman injected forest hayes with so much heroin that it killed him. it happened 16 months ago on hayes' yacht in santa cruz. tickleman faces felony charges for leaving the boat as hayes lay dying. a hit-and-run crash killed a food vendor in east soes, when a driver slammed head-on into a car in mt. pleasant high school saturday. the driver took off ran into a couple manning a food cart. the man died in the crash, the woman who was hit died. marco shamale faces several charges including vehicular manslaughter. oakland port workers finally back on the job but liqueuring labor issues makes you wonder if everybody's on board. the problems started over the weekend, both sides reached a

deal on friday. longshoremen took a break en masse violating port rules. the port sent the workers home. last night an arbitrator ordered the longshoremen back to work. truckers doing business expressed relief the port was back in business. >> yes, of course. it relieves some of the congestion in our port. . >> the union calls the work stoppage a "misunderstanding." it's 4:35, a sea of black at the sea catholic church in san francisco, some church members attended yesterday's mass of black clothing as a symbol of protest. parents and alumni are upset over a controversial pamphlet given to kids as young as 7, it talks about abortion and mercy killings. members dropped notes of opposition instead of money into the collection basket, the notes

are seen as potential threats and curb travel overseas. a new video released by isis is believed to show the group training young kids. we're not showing you that video because it's isis propaganda but in it you could see children standing in formation, chanting, praying and doing exercises. and isis instructor says about 80 of the kids are foreign fighters. also back here at home, the new defense secretary does not think transgender people should be kept from serving their country. ashton carter says the military wants the best people in our country to serve and does not care what their personal lives are like so long as they get the job done. supporters want carter to review regulations preventing transgender service members from serving openly. new warnings about the growing danger of derailments involving trains carrying crude. expect more to come in the years to come. latest federal government report comes in the wake of last week's fiery derailment that forced ,c west

4:44, monday, honda is replacing its president. in response to the car company's air bag fiasco, the current president agreed to step aside. he'll be replaced by another honda exec. the move comes after massive recalls of cars with faulty air bags. some of the air bags exploded sending shards of metal and plastic flying. at least five deaths are linked to the problem worldwide. another car company is issuing a recall this morning. thousands of mercedes owners have to check their car after a nationwide recall. for the rest of the news

before the bell we join landon dowdy joining us live from cnbc world headquarters on a monday, good morning, landon. >> hey guys, good morning to you. mercedes is recalling more than 147,000 mid sized sedan and station wagons in the u.s. to check for risk of an engine fire. the recall affects cls class sedan and e class sedan and wagons produced between 2013 and this year. mercedes will notify owners and repairing the cars next month. prices are rising at the gas pump. the average price of regular unleaded rose 13 cents to $2.33 a gallon, still more than $1 lower than this time last year. large refinery strike and explosion helped to push prices higher. san francisco gas is at $2.95 a gallon, $2.88 in san jose. it's going to cost more to visit the happiest place on earth. disney is raising ticket prices for its u.s. theme parks. one-day pass for disney world is

of sleep, yep, it will be kind of tough, as we head throughout the first week of spring, march 8 is the time change, that's spring forward, the first official day of spring occurs on the 20th. as we head throughout the next couple of day, temps in the 60s in the south bay. not much of a difference though in san francisco, you can see uniform temperatures of areas of low pressure, rain on the way as we head throughout thursday into friday, first showers begin, for most of the bay area as we head throughout 3:00 friday. more coming up. back to you, sam and laura. >> christina, thank you very much. it is the beginning of a tense week for government employees right now who are going to learn more information about what will happen if funding runs out for the department of homeland security. the department's secretary jeh johnson will meet with his employees today. tens of thousands of whom would be furloughed if if the department's funding runs out as scheduled later in the week. johnson says it's an issue of national security. >> we go into government shutdown, some 30,000 employees of my department will be furloughed, including a lot of

headquarters person knell who i count on daily to stay one step ahead of groups like isil. >> the rest of the workers would be required to show up without pay. that money is in limbo right now because some republicans are refusing to fund homeland security unless president obama stops delaying deportation orders for up to 5 million immigrants. nearly a dozen students are sick this morning after overdosing on a drug called molly. it happened at wesley ann university in middletown. 11 students were treated at the hospital, two are in serious condition. molly is a pure form of ecstasy that can cause people to hallucinate. parents should not feel guilty giving their children sugar, under one condition. child doctors say it's okay for kids to dip fresh vegetables in ranch dressing or sprinkle of brown sugar on motoatmeal if it

a very good morning to you. thanks for joining us. i i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm sam brock. security is being stepped up at some of the largest malls in the u.s. >> "today in the bay's" kris sanchez has more that the department of homeland security could shut down. >> we don't know if the threat from from the somali-based of terrorism could help open the door. the extremist group encouraged threats against malls here in the u.s. including that mall of america in minute minute. the al shabab group called for malls in canada and britain. this is the same group that attacked the mall in kennia back in 2013. 60 people were killed over three days' time, but authorities say so far this threat does not
