a fake handgun, and a dead man. suspect was arrested just blocks away. in the north bay, three men are under arrest accused of holding a woman captive almost two months. we first told you about this story last week. the 22-year-old victim says she was kidnapped at gunpoint and taken to a rural santa rosa home saying captors beat her and sexually assaulted her until she escaped. the woman is safe and recovering. questions remain after search crews found a dead newborn in a yellow county swamp. an emotional vigil held for justice rees. the 20-year-old mother and his bare reported missing monday. the next day green turned up about 10 miles north of her home in woodland crying and hysteric hysterical. true crues found the baby yesterday and do not know how he died. and apparently popping pills at school, paramedics rushed the

girls from albany middle school to a nearby hospital yesterday. the girls are expected to survive. no word on what kind of pills they took. bay area congresswoman jackie spear on veiling a plan today to keep detergent pods out of the hands and mouths of young kids. the colorful packages pack a poisonous punch. "today in the bay," joining us with a look at jackie spear's plans as well. and why the urgency? >> well, you know quirks clearly tell that this is a tide laundry packet because we can read and we're grown-ups but once they're out it could look like a teething toy we would have given to one of our toddlers. kids think they're toishgs sometimes think they're candy and led to deadly consequences. the pod you can toss right into the washing machine or di dishwasher are super convenient but filled with super concentrated detergent. chemicals so toxic they've sent enough children to the hospital. this is alarming. according to the national poison

control data system, between 2012 and 2013, a 7-month-old baby died, 769 children hospitalized. someone in tacomaseizures, vomiting blood, heart slowed, some went into respiratory arrest and in addition to that 16,000 other calls to poison control because of these detergent packets. that's why today congresswoman jackie speerp will introduce a bill forcing manufacturers to sell the pods in child-resistant packaging as some other chemicals are already in this. a mother will join that whose baby ended up in intensive care after her baby bit into the packet. no surprise, if you've nerve ved one of these, super soft, melt right away. >> kids can bite it. you know? >> you're right. >> they look like a teething ring. >> i don't even buy them. i don't want them around my kids

>> we believe in free speech and people can express what they want. >> a couple other california universities on that list. ucla at number nine and san diego state number six. at the top of list, columbia university in new york city. a follow-up this morning on the supreme court case involving a muslim woman denied a job at abercrombie & fitch because of her wardrobe. looks like the court may rule in favor of the woman. she says she was recommended for hiring only to lose the job because of her jihab. citing its look policy. indicated most of the court would probably side with the woman. a ruling is expected by the end of june. 4:37 right now. buyer beware. the popular ride share be al about surcharging big bucks at big events. and tattoo artist says he was charged saturday after a the sharks game, the ride from santana road to levi stadium, $30.

he planned to take public transportation back to his car but says the light rail line was just too long. so he opted for uber knowing surged pricing was in effect. the bill was a stunner. >> i agreed to the surge price. the problem was, the ride itself should have been like $30 times four, doesn't add up to $452. >> you heard him. he paid $452 for a 12-mile ride, reached to uber asking for a price reduction. a representative suggested always getting a fair estimate. in a statement the company says the uber app was created to give riders a safe, reliable option to move around town at the tap of a button. dynamic pricing makes it possible for uber to meet that same standard for reliability even during times of high demand. >> more than $45 a mile. happening today, tenants evicted by a google lawyer planned to deliver a petition to the company's mountainview

lunchtime, temperatures climbing into the mid-60s. right around noon today for san jose out towards livermore and temperatures later today upper 60s to low 70s today, with warm temperatures around los gatos. up to 73 degrees. upper 60s san francisco. north bay, upper 60s, close to 70 mill valley. 73 there in livermore but we begin to see changes in the forecast. first the winds picking up as you go through the day tomorrow. look at the wind speeds. up to 25 to 27 miles per hour. much cooler tomorrow as the system drops down the coast. 124is going to bring us a chance of showers. not for today, but on into tomorrow. you can see the cooler air. look at that snow in the sierra. seeing probably about half foot tore a foot of snow in the sierra between friday night on into saturday and the snow levels beginning to drop as you get into the weekend. so the weather trend here getting into friday, tomorrow we begin to see a chance of showers. the weekend, sleeftat least a s. showers clear out wrapping up the weekend. cool temperatures. today 70s, begin to drop into

illegal alien first. >> this is not the time to engage in activities that would threaten our capabilities. >> now, senate lawmakers are expected to vote on a funding plan later today. laura? new marijuana laws in the nation's capital is stirring up a fight between the city of washington, d.c. and the federal government. within the last few hours, it's become legal for d.c. residents to possess and grow pot. congressional republicans are threatening city leaders with jailtime for allowing the law change. d.c. falls under the jurisdiction of congress, and the federal government still has a strict ban on marijuana. researchers in europe are limpinging attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders to an increased risk of early death. the studied followed 2 million people from infancy to the 30s. people diagnosed with adhd were twice as likely to die prematurely as those without the disorder. to clarify, most deaths were not related to health issues instead
