first say good morning to meteorologist christina loren. how was your weekend? >> it was great. thanks for asking. hopefully you had a good weekend as well. as we head throughout the day today temperatures pretty warm, not as warm as yesterday and tomorrow a sharp decrease in your numbers. as we get into the end of the week tracking showers for easter week, we'll have more coming up in moments. for now here's mike and your drive. >> looking toward fremont, 880, live shot here. the close-up by the truck scales through the area, also reported a crash by chp, they claim there's still activity on the roadways but i didn't see any problems or flashing lights on the shoulder from basically through newark and fremont toward milpitas was my drive so we have a smooth flow of traffi. we'll track that report. toward the south bay we see typical overnight road crews and the yellow is down to 60 miles per hour, not a problem but there are some construction spots around tully and 880/101

interchange. the rest of the bay moves smoothly. back to you. jetblue getting things back on track after a system-wide outage caused ticketing problems. the issue prevented flyers from checking in online so lines built up at airports on the east coast including boston's logan international. no word yet on what caused the i.t. outage. it has been resolved and jetblue is recovering from delays. now to a developing story the family and friends of a missing uc berkeley student in southern california this morning trying to find him. 19-year-old eloy vazquez drove to los angeles, went to a frat party and wanted to check out the beach. when friends told him it was too far away, he left anyway and 2:00 in the morning he called saying he was lost. his family says he usually stays in close touch with them. >> responsible, athletic, on the

soccer team, dedicated. he would be in contact with someone if it weren't in trouble. >> vazquez plays on cal's soccer team. cal's athletic department released a statement in part saying "our entire cal athletics family is concerned for eloi's safety and our first priority is to help in any way we can. ". a judge will set a preliminary hearing date for brock turner today, turner pleaded not guilty to charges he sexually assaulted an unconscious and intoxicated woman he met at an on-campus in january. judge ordered him to appear at every court appearance. the san jose police officer accused of raping a woman while on duty will be in court later today. jeffrey graves is going to be arraigned this afternoon. graves initially pleaded no contest to the charges but he changed his plea to not guilty

earlier in the month. he's still in jail and on leave from the police department. in the south bay, a man is behind bars after going on a rampage with a machete. his sister says he may have wanted police to take his life. it happened in east bay near the tully near the exit to highway 101. the man could be seen waving the knife and reportedly smashed all the windows of a car. he then returned to his garage where he started lighting fires. police surrounded him and took him into custody around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. the man's sister says he needs psychiatric help. >> he doesn't need to be going to jail or being charged with this. he actually needs help, counseling, therapy, something. >> the suspect has not been identified, no one was hurt. 4:34 right now. the trial will begin today in a civil suit filed by the parents of audrey potts.

the saratoga high school student committed suicide. the attackers served their time but the family thinks the punishment was not enough. it settled with the third person earlier in the year. the legal dispute dividing the family of the late robin williams will be heard in a san francisco courtroom y. back in december, williams' wife susan filed papers alleging some of his clothes and personal items had been removed from the couple's tiburon home. the children say susan williams deliberately blocked the independent trustees from conducting an inventory. in the meantime a bay area landmark is moving closer to being named for robin williams. "the chronicle" reports a proposal to rename the waldo tunnel as the robin williams tunnel, has cleared a state assembly committee and now goes to the appropriations committee, on its way to a full vote by the

assembly. it is expected to clear both houses by the summer. the tunnel connects golden gate bridge traffic to marin county. the public is invited to a celebration this morning to honor the life of a martinez woman killed in the gravel truck accident recently. dump truck toppled over and crushed lindsay combs' car as she was trying to move. fund-raisers brought in more than $14,000 to pay for funeral expanpenses and fly family in f out of state. today's event will be held from 11:30 this morning until 5:00. the san francisco fire department wants you to know what to do to protect your home. today the department will hold a fire prevention tutorial. there have been three massive fires in the mission district, two of them deadly. today's tutorial begins at 1:00 at 870 bush street between taylor and mason streets in san francisco. we could find out if a local

debate over the american flag and wearing it will be heard by the u.s. supreme court. five years ago the assistant principal at live oak high school banned students from wearing shirts with american flags on cinco de mayo. the school was trying to prevent fights from breaking out. students who wore the shirts were sent home. as a result families filed a free speech lawsuit subsequently dismissed in lower courts. supreme court justices could announce their decision to review the case as soon as today. 4:37, new this morning a pair of strong earthquakes struck off the south pacific nation of tonga. magnitude of 6.4, followed by a magnitude 6.8 quake. no reports of injuries or damage. so far no tsunami warnings have been issued. earlier a powerful 7.5 quake rattled papua new guinea. no ones ahurt there. a banner weekend, lots of

s. very good monday morning to you. apple's ceo tim cook is taking a stand against indiana's religious freedom law that could allow businesses to turn away gay and lesbian customers in the name of religious free tom. in an op-ed in "the washington post" cook calls indiana's new law as well as one in arkansas discrimination. he says america's businesses have long recognized discrimination as bad for business and states should, too. in the op-ed cook says "that's why on behalf of apple i'm standing up to oppose this new wave of legislation wherever it emerges emerges." sales force in indiana, the governor is willing to clarify the wording of the law but not

coast, temperatures upper 60s to low 70s, that heat will persist inland you might have to use your ac for one more day before the numbers cool off significantly. by 7:30 tonight when the sun sets, the fog will return and onshore flow for us means cooler temperatures, we'll keep that fog machine going all week long as a result of an area of low pressure. it will bring in light shower activity by tomorrow morning, likely tracking that on the radar for you, take you into your easter sunday, and it does look like late easter sunday, after about 7:00 p.m. into monday, we get a better chance for showers, some rich moisture expected to pass over the bay area, and for us, we need it so desperately. that will continue just about all week long next week so we need the rain and it looks like it's coming in. here's where we're headed temperature wise, tuesday, 69 degrees, down from 79 today in san jose. we'll be at 68 by wednesday, and then those numbers level off for thursday into friday before

attacks. defense attorneys may start presenting their case as soon as today in the boston bombing trial. prosecutors nearly set to rest their case in the capital murder trial against dzhokhar tsarnaev. the defense strategy will likely be designed to spare him the death penalty while placing the blame on his brother who died in the police shoot-out. the pair placed bombs at the finish line, killing three and wounding more than 250 people. firefighter fell through the roof in fresno and a huge fireball erupted. the firefighter survived but has a long road to recovery. he suffers second and third-degree burns to nearly 75% of his body. d.c. lawmakers heading to wisconsin today for a field hearing on prescription drug abuse at one veteran's hospital. that hospital is located in toma, wisconsin. the clinic made headlines when a whistle-blower reported high dose pain prescriptions for
