good morning, i'm richard lui. let's talk about isis in ohio. there have been a handful of cases lately about americans allegedly trying to head to syria to join isis. the 23-year-old somali born man from columbus, ohio, has been charged with supporting terrorism. prosecutors say he spent two months in syria getting trained in weapons, explosives and hand-to-hand combat. according to court documents he came back to ohio and told others he wanted to target the military, police or anyone in uniform. he also allegedly wanted to, quote, kill three or four american soldiers execution style. experts say his arrest is the first since isis began recruiting. >> this is the first case of an american traveling overseas to syria training with terrorist groups there and then returning home to be arrested and indicted. >> the man is expected to appear in court for arraignment later this morning. the call for help whachlt the baggage handler trapped in

an alaska airlines plane said in his 911 plea. >> 911. >> hello. i'm stuck in this plane, and i called my job but i'm in this plane. >> you're where? >> i'm inside the plane, and i feel like it's moving in the air. >> passengers could hear banging from below. the man trapped after waking from a nap. the 911 dispatcher was in disbelief. >> where are you in the plane? >> i'm inside the plane. alaska airlines plane flight 448. >> are you by yourself or are you with somebody? >> by myself. please. >> the seattle to los angeles flight was in the air for 14 minutes. the call lasted 48 seconds. the pilot made an emergency landing, and the baggage handler walked off the plane. by the way he worked for a third party baggage company but has since been banned from working at alaska airlines. a different flight now. a woman does something bizarre

and gets kicked off. this happened on a southwest airlines flight to boston from midway airport. the woman was trying to silence a snoring seatmate. she allegedly grabbed a pen and started poking him in the arm. the man's friend tweeted the photo. you the see ink on the sleeve. the man wasn't hurt but the woman was taken off the flight. no word on any charges. the mailman who flew his gyrocopter under radar coverage has been charged with two criminal offenses. they include operating an unregistered aircraft, which is a felony, and violating restricted airspace. douglas hughes has been placed on home detention in florida. he is not allowed to operate any aircraft and is barred from the u.s. capitol and the white house. his next hearing is set for may 8th. after five heated months things could finally bush administration here. republicans have been stalling president obama's nomination for attorney general loretta lynch. senate minority leader harry reid told msnbc's rachel maddow

we have this cold front and low pressure system that continues to spin. behind it though we are looking at more snow in the rockies. we are talking decent snow at that. for the next 48 hours, we could see three to six inches of snow. an additional six to nine inches along with the rain that will be coming down. that is where the active weather is going to be for 48 hours. for the rest of the west coast, it is looking good and mild up and down the coast. 67 in seattle. it's dry down to phoenix. they should make it to a high of 83. temperatures not nearly as warm there. as we go into saturday temperatures start to heat up in the desert southwest. up to 90 degrees. it stays dry. showers in denver then the storms will continue through the southern plains. that's a look at desert

doctors are warning parents about a trend. a growing number of teens are consuming hand sanitizer to get drunk and ending up in the hospital. some contain 70%eth l alcohol, which is 160 proof. it can be deadly to consume. we have big news if you snore, there is new evidence showing snoring and sleep apnea may have a link to memory loss. nbc's stephanie gosk has more. >> reporter: snoring can be maddening, often more for the people who have to listen to it than for the people who actually do it. new research suggests heavy snoring and the more serious condition sleep apnea could also have significant health consequences. both reduce oxygen levels to the brain and disrupt sleep. the study published in the "journal of neurology" reviewed medical histories of more than 2,000 people between the ages of 55 and 90. heavy snorers and those with sleep apnea were diagnosed with
