police are warning women not to jog alone this after a woman says she was sexually assaulted. today steffie joins us. this marks the third such attack the in the last nine months. good morning. >> yeah, that number quite concerning. the most recent happening look the paved trail here. it was around 2:30 when a woman said she was walking here, he landed on top of her, and police say she yelled until he took off. the regular hikers we spoke with say this is the first time here hearing anything like that happening here. >> it doesn't seem like anything

we have experienced here before. pretty sad. >> reporter: last july a woman said on a bicycle reported a man tried to attack her. there is a reward up though $2500, the description being very similar in all three cases. a whiteman in his 30s, 200 pounds, a unique part of this description is all three women reported that the attacker seemed to have a disability like down's syndrome. also to note, the women were all alone when these attacks happened, so the advice is -- there is strengths in numbers. stephanie trong, today in the bay 6:02, a south bay -- he showed up for his first-period class, but has not been seen since. chris, do deputies have any leads at this point? the parents obviously must be

unsettled by this. >> well, they are, though they're not talking to us just yet. the sheriff's department says they served behind here behind me. they also looked at several neighborhood parks, they still have not seen any sign of conor sullivan, who now has been miss fog almost 48 hours. this is the picture the family says they last saw him monday morning better 7:00. they saw but after school -- he was not seen -- he also did not show up for track practice. monday morning staff says he was wearing a black shirt, black

sweatshirt, black shorts as well as blue and white sneakers. even the fremont open space preserve, because conor apparently enjoins running there. in cupertino, chris sanches "today in the bay." involving an 8 years old boy taken with the family car. the boy is back home, but the parents claim fair field police treed them unfairly. >> have you looked at the carpet? that looks like blood [ screaming.

officers say suzanne guzman refused to allow them in the home. this is taken from the boy's father. he says the reason police were not let i inside is they have dogs now the family plans to filed a complain against the complaint right now we are getting our first look alternate video of the latest security breach at the san jose airport. after she reportedly scaled a fence. you see her walking right on the tarmac before a u.p.s. employees reportedly spotted her. the new fence is ten feet tall and has a barbed wire.

they made off with a pricey and rather large musical instrument. the two thieves stole a cello from a 16-year-old girl's car. cellos are expensive. surveillance cameras caught the thieves in action. you can see the female suspect rummages through the car while a male suspects waits in a getaway car meantime, the tune of a new days here, a live look outside your microclimate forecast. there's a whole spectrum of colors out there this morning, much like the ray dash sometimes. >> good morning. i think that radar today will be, and up in the north bay where we could see some strong thunderstorms capable of producing hail. and so we are going to be watching that for you. we also have a chance for that here in the south bay.

as we get into this afternoon, the clouds will make way to a nice finish. between 3:00 and 5:00, you'll know hose clouds will build. this is the best chance for seeing those afternoon thunderstorms. mid 60s for today, as you step outside for lunch. we have good to moderate air quality. it's nice and myoout there as well. 71 degrees today, 68 degrees on the east shore. the north bay about 74 degrees, the tri-valley up to 77 degrees. we do have that chance for mountain thunderstorms, a chance locally as well, and the storm prediction center located in oklahoma has actually given us a slight risk for some of those storms to be strong.

we'll tell you where we have the best chance for seeing that hail and lightning later today. right now we had to check your drive, probably a calmer scenario. >> but i am the traffic prediction center here, and i predict, yes, as far as traffic goes. which is moving really well with those taillights from right to left. a look at the map, and right -- three vehicles involved over on the shoulder and partially blocking the off-ramp. a predictable flow of traffic there. we had a series of crashes this morning, all sounding like they're unrelated, spaced star enough apart. now we just have the typical build, one crash over at hop-year-ohope

hopyard. a typical slowing for the drive down towards the nimitz freeway. and an easy drive, though things are picking up now, westbound. a slow drive developing. there's mist and drizzle. you might have to use the windshield wipers. no delay on the pill anyone la from that route. we'll talk about the bay bridge as well, as you make your way over 92, a smooth, easy drive, and north 880, no slowing, but you do have the metering lights on. the backup here is off of 580 off the 24. that's pretty predictable as well. we'll zoom out and show you the approach north of there. no slowing really until you get to richmond. in the north bay, in novato, 101 southbound, your commute direction moves very smoothly as well. as we jump down to the south bay, the son jose freeways, which are -- once again from 680

breaking news at 6:12 out of martinez. firefighters are trying to put out a fire at an apartment building. we're told two people have already been rescued and a police officer is hurt. >> this is happening on pine street, that is near the center avenue off-ramp to highway 4. the first team of firefighters who arrived had to call for backup because the fire was so large. against a police officer has been injured, but we don't know how badly. we have a crew headed to the scene right not. bob redell is on his way here's a look at today's other top stories. detect i was in santa rosa need your help to find a man accused of assaulting a woman on a trail. >> deputies are looking for a missing student from cupertino.

the tri-valley. temperatures are going to be comfortable later on today. it's going to feel warmer than the true temperature outside, because the air has a weight to it. we've got that humidity out there. let's talk thunderstorms later on today. upon the highest elevations of the sierra nevada, even right here in the north bay and south bay mountains, we could see some strong storms develop. associated with some of these stronger storms, we're talking about pea-sized hail, wind gusts to 50 miles per hour, and brief heavy downpours, so keep that in mind. if you're traveling this way, you really want to keep your radio on just in case we see any flash flood warnings go up. definitely a possibility with this type of volatile atmosphere. so let's talk about what eggs you can expect throughout the week. temperatures will stay nice and steady. we're going to keep that slight chance for showers each and every day, starting today, continuing all the way through early next week, but there's a big golf tournament coming to

town. the lpga kicks off tomorrow, a mix of sun and clouds, hopefully no thunder rumbling over lake merced for this big event. we're happy to welcome the ladies of the pag into our territory. we're looking pretty good for that this will be a big draw trafficwise, won't it? >> none of us can really lit those 300-year-old drives, but we can get better playing closer to our range. sometimes with us some of the -- i know i've gotten a lot of great tips on the short game. i feel really bad. looking at the tri-valley,ing this good. they all moved to the shoulder, not a lot of drama, and look at that. now we just have slowing into livermore. another crash was farther south right around sunol.

but the free way itself moves well. both 680 and 880, show that traditional slow you done in toward fremont. we do have a lot of company for you. this is highway 4 coming out of antiology, and then pittsburgh, also towards concord. and that is on the other side of 680, so a lot less volume. even though the smoke might be visible, it won't be a problem as far as the speeds go, at least not right now. i'm tracking that. same thing for the benicia and carquinez bridges. over towards the maize -- maze area. down toward the golden gate bridge, no problems, but there may be some mist or drizzle.

suffered mo inhalation. we have a decree headed to the scene. >> now to a developing story this morning, investigators are trying to figure out why a woman was driving the wrong way just before a crash that killed four people overnight investigators say a woman was driving east in the westbound lanes of highway 50 in sacramento. the car slammed into a pickup truck. the driver of the prius and three men inside the pickup died at the scene. eastbound lanes are closed while the chp investigates iranian cargo ships are getting closer to yemen where there's a war going on between rebels and the government. u.s. warships are moving in, too. tracie potts is escalating this situation from washington, d.c. she joins us live with the latest. good morning, tracey.

>> just this morning a spokesperson for the white house says we'll be doing enhanced maritime monitoring. in other words they're keeping an eye on the iranian cargo ships just off the coast. this u.s. aircraft carrier is hovering in the water off yemen this morning, not far from seven iranian cargo ships. the u.s. fears they're there to deliver weapons to the rebels fighting yemen's government. >> that's a problem. and we're not sending them obscure messages. we sent them very direct messages about it. >> providing weapons only exacerbates the violence and instability in this region. >> there's an arab blockade to keep the cargo away. >> our partners rely on these for a lot of commerce, for economic value, so obviously that's important to us. >> reporter: if iran's goal was to scare saudi arabia, it may have worked. the saudis announced they're

temperatures will be a touch warmer. the low clouds will burn off by about noon today. limited sunshine, not quite as windy out there later on, and as we head throughout tonight, especially between the ours of 3:00 and 5:00, we will be watching for the risk of thunderstorms here. i told you earlier about the spc, the storm prediction center all the way out in oklahoma, has actually given us a slight rick for severe storms to develop. sonoma county, napa county and of course the sierra nevada. your weather headlines tell the story. getting into tomorrow, a bit more stable in our atmosphere, more sunshine on your way for your thursday, but the unsettled pattern will continue into the weekend with a couple more opportunities for shower

activity. right now we want to check on your drive with mike. it is picking up out there. >> it's a wednesday, we're seeing a pretty easy build out there, but we do have the build nonetheless. we'll show you oakland, where i just showed you a few seconds ago, this is a proper view, a little gray out here. christina is talking about the moisture in the air, but so far no problems as far as the visibility. we're looking at northbound with the taillights traveling past the coliseum, over towards the matt, which shows you reports of a stalled vehicle. we got that truck over, and that's a split between the off-ramp. not a lot of slowing, but we'll track that. the bay bridge toll plaza where the metering lights are on. a lighter volume starts to build with slowing for westbound 80, the upper east shore freeway down through richmond and the berkeley curve. over on the left side, you see

novato, just a little slowing through the novato narrows, an easy drive even though the volume builds. low clouds hovering around that area as well. but the other side of 680, that's where the fire is, and we don't see any real effect, though we see the possibility of smoke being visibility right there. debris no lanes reported blocked just yet. over here in the tri-valley and the rest of the east bay, southbound 680 and 880 are the slow are drives. nothing dramatic, an easy build here. we'll take a look at the south bay, northbound routes starts to slow for 101 and 85. 87 and 280 holding steady, and we'll get a look at the san mateo bridge. starting to diplomat a bit because of this volume. we can also see the bridge itself, the high rise and flat section, but nothing because the

french official say think foiled a terrorism attack. a computer science student was arrested after hi accidentally shot himself and called for an ambulance. imside his house, police found loaded guns, bulletproof vests and detailed documents providing targets. he's also accused of killing a 32-year-old woman in a suburb of paris. at four decades, an escaped prisoner gave himself up this

watch over our hillsides and mountaintops as well. that's when we're expecting the clouds to build. we have this area of high pressure to our south, pulling up subtropical moisture. it's colliding with an area of low pressure that's just to our north. so warm, myoair moving in, colliding with very cool dry air. as a result we're expecting thunderstorms each and every day through friday, with the best chance this afternoon. i stopped that clock at 5:00. you'll notice here -- quite a bit of activity. same goes for the south bay merchandise. it looks like we could see strong storms develop as we head throughout 5:00. getting into the next couple days, temperatures will be steady into saturday up to 70 by sunday. there is a lot going on in the bay area, including the dutch

there's -- all showing that push north to san jose and toward the rest of the silicon valley. we'll see this focusing on the commute, but so far 85 is moving slowly. over toward the tri-valley, now we're down to just a pretty standard pattern, no big deals here, a little focus on the slowing towards north livermore, south 680, so that speeds will dip a bit. no problem north, but the interchange itself is starting to show some slowing. a smooth drive down towards 9 toll plaza. here's a slowing through berkeley. there's that volume of traffic west underneath that iconic overcrossing. there's gray skies, maybe some windshield wipers once, maybe twice

a south bay high school student is missing. he showed up for class on monday morning. no one has seen or heard from him since. "today in the bay" kris sanches is live at the high school in cupertino. do temperatureties have any idea where he could be. >> reporter: they've looked for him here at the scoot, and at home and his local hangouts. it's been almost 48 hours since anyone has seen him at school or at home. his family told deputies, sheriff's deputies said they made it to school. school staff saw him there for the first period, but then staff says after 10:00 on monday morning connor wasn't seen for the rest of the exile day on monday nor tuesday, and he didn't show up for track practice, either. the sheriff's department won't say whether they consider him an
