showers in san francisco and even the north bay, maybe even right here in the south bay as we move through monday. tomorrow will be a dry day but our storm system is still making its way here. you can see on our water vapor loop lots of moisture in the atmosphere and that is key when it comes to fire season because usually we have the dry downsloping winds that are offshore. now with this storm system coming in our humidity levels are up and it's warm or at least warm moist air, not cold air at least once you get into our inland valleys. but at the coastline definitely chilly and it's going to stay that way with rain moving in over the next couple of days. we'll talk more about the timing on that storm system as it moves in and when you can expect to see showers at your doorstep in my next report. guys, back to you. >> all right, anthony, thank you so much. can about now to a developing story on the disappearance of a 6-year-old sacramento girl. today the mother's boyfriend was arrested for the girl's murder. this after the sheriff's department found the little girl's body. authorities discovered jadiana larson's body about 100 miles from her home in glen county just two days after she went missing.

diversion programs could be key alternatives. >> we don't need to build another jail wasting $290 million on something that will just be completely unnecessary. and as we've seen you know putting up a new jail just means that it's going to be filled. so we're just going to be imprisoning more people. >> reporter: that building said to be seismically unsound. one early idea floated for the jail is that it would reduce the number of beds and promote rehabilitation and that care is flex ranging from those with psychiatric needs to antiquated design and space con traints straints there, that this would offer better service. we have calls into the sheriff's department for comment but haven't heard back at the time of this broadcast. reporting live in san francisco christie smith, nbc bay area news. >> all right christie, thank you so much. protesters in san francisco want city leaders to hear their voices this weekend about a common complaint spreading across the bay area. affordable housing.
