apart for most republicans. >> kelly o'donnell, thank you very much. meantime let's get to the weather. that same storm system that brought historic rains to texas now causing flooding problems across the east coast. and al has the latest on that. >> we were in a moderate drought, we needed the rain, but we didn't need it in all in 90 minutes' time from last night. amazing video from yesterday. this issious outside newark new jersey, apartment buildings, businesses, a real mess and while much of this is now drained, we have more drenching rains today right on into tomorrow. newark over 4 1/2 inches boston an inch. philadelphia close to an inch of rain. we'll watch this system. a stationary front so we're looking at one to three inches. locally could be up to five inches of rain over the next 24 hours. this will lead to more flooding. speaking of flooding it's been

the wettest may ever for texas. austin 17 inches 17 in wichita falls. brownsville, almost ten inches of rain. wettest month ever for the entire state. the average rainfall across the state, 7 1/2 inches. way above the average in june of 2004. why? an active el nino and that stub stubborn pattern. the good nice is guys we are looking for a change in the pattern. and as you see over the next several days dry conditions across all of texas and oklahoma. they do still have major flooding in some of the major rivers including the trinity. that will subside toward the end of the week. >> at least some good news. >> absolutely. >> thanks very much. i want to turn now to the emotional reaction from people all around the world to the death of beau biden. nbc's white house correspondent kristen welker has the outpouring of support for the biden family. good morning to you.

>> reporter: matt good morning to you. vice president biden has cancelled all events today. he's at home with his family in delaware where flags have been lowered to half-staff and the entire political world and people all across the country mourning beau biden who at 46 was taken far too soon. a grieving vice president biden called his son beau the finest man any of us have has ever known. a special father/son bond that was clear to everyone. >> my friends, my father, my hero. >> born in 1969, he was often by his father's side growing up. but he was a decorated iraq war veteran. family came first. >> this is an incredible loss. he was an extraordinary person. >> reporter: the grief gripped washington where lawmakers offered emotional tributes sunday. >> i'd like to express my sincere condolences to the

entire biden family. >> think of a life cut too short. >> reporter: the obamas travelled to biden's home in a smaller than usual motorcade. the president said beau was just like his dad and made a difference in all the lives he touched. this is not the first time tragedy has hit the biden family. beau was barely 4 when he was in a car accident that killed his mother and sister. joe biden just elected to the u.s. senate was sworn in by beau's hospital bed side. >> one of my earliest memories was being in the hospital. my dad always at our side. >> beau was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago after and after treatment was given a clean bill of health but this spring he relapsed. the vice president kept his pain private but became deeply personal at a graduation speech days before beau checked into the hospital for the last time. >> my dad's definition of success is when you look at your son and daughter and realize they have turned out better than you and they did.

>> reporter: now, we expect the vice president's office to release details about the funeral services soon. he was surrounded by the entire family when he passed including his wife hallie and two young children. matt and savannah back to you. >> thank you so much. ron claim served as the vice president's chief of staff and ron, good morning to you. >> good morning. >> there has been such an extraordinary outpouring from all walks of life every political stripe. i think it's a testament to beau and the biden family. how are they doing? how are their spirits this morning? >> obviously it's a horrible tragedy. it's hit everyone in the family very very hard. i know they want to be focused not on their loss but on beau's extraordinary life. and the amazing things he accomplished in his 46 years here. and the kind of person that he was. a great man, a person described by two -- some big words, duty and honor.

heed he of will lived up to them. and ever what the finest man any of us have known.nest man any of us have known. >> we heard some of his accomplishments and they are many. but what strikes people about beau biden is what a warm kind humble person he was. >> yeah. beau grew up as the son of a senator but you would have never known that. he was completely down to earth and really dedicated, of course first to his family but to public service as well. i mean this is a person who signed up for the national guard when he was in his 30s though he was the sitting attorney general of delaware went to iraq and served in a combat unit there where he was decorated. then when he came home he had the chance to run for his father's seat in the u.s. senate. and really would have had it handed to him on a silver platter almost. beau was in the middle of prosecuting one of the largest child abuse cases and thought it was his duty to see it through to the end.

and that kind of character is just extraordinary and that's the kind of person that beau was. >> i think what has touched a nerve so much is just the thought of what vice president joe biden has been through in his life. having lost his young daughter and wife at such a young age. little beau survived. but now to have lost him at the age of 46. knowing him as you do how do you think he will handle this and how is he doing now? >> well i think -- as i said before i think it's obviously an unbelievable tragedy. as you said -- the vice president said before when his wife passed away and his daughter was lost in that accident in 1972 his mother said to him that something good would come out of it somehow. though it's hard to believe, he always always believed it was his relationship with his sons beau and hunter that was so special out of that tragedy. now to lose one of those sons is an excruciating loss on top of

an excruciating loss. the vice president is incredibly resilient people. the biden family is the closest most loving family i know. they'll be there for each other. as the president said yesterday, all of us are there for them. the bidens are loved around the country by political allies and foes. and i know there's incredible outpouring of love and affection for them right now as we think about beau and outpouring of affection now as we think about beau and we think about the family. >> thanks for sharing your memories this morning. i really appreciate it. >> thanks savannah. >> and our our con doledolences go out as well. >> there is fallout from the dennis hastert matter. that follows hastert's resignation in the wake of his charges on lying to the fbi and

federal banking fraud. >> he's agreed to pay $3.5 million to compensate for and conceal his prior miscon conmisconduct according to the indictment when he was a high school teacher and wrestling coach. the prnerson receiving those payments was a male and dennis hastert is expected to be arraigned this week. >> new york's mayor is thankful that not many people were around sunday morning when an air conditioning unit fell from a crane and crashed down to the street below, sheering the side of a 30-story building. ten people were injured by falling debris. the crane was lifting the unit to the top floor when the cable snapped. an investigation is under way.

more weather in a few minutes. >> and that's your latest weather. >> thank you. funeral services are being held today for the washington, d.c. family brutally murdered in their home last month. today national correspondent craig melvin is outside the church this morning. craig, good morning to you. >> reporter: savannah good morning. while three of the four victims will be laid to rest behind me this afternoon, this morning we've learned that police will once again be back at the family home combing it for more evidence. the attorney for the one man who's been charge sod far is speaking out. three members of the savopoulos family will be laid to rest today two weeks after they were killed. ong with their housekeeper. in brutal slayings at their washington, d.c. mansion. friends attended a private wake for savvas amy, and philip on sunday. but 14 days after the shocking murders and with reports last week that police believe there may be multiple suspects

authorities are remaining quiet about any additional arrests. so far daron wint has been the only arrested in connection with the killings. wint has a criminal history. his family retained an attorney who spoke to the suspect in jail. >> he believes that they are holding him in hopes that somehow they will find out who really did the killings. >> reporter: and that attorney dismisses the much-publicized dna evidence on a pizza that ties wint to the crime scene. >> there's a substantial time difference i believe i've read between the delivery of the pizza and the deaths. furthermore furthermore, dna analysis is sort of a junk science. >> reporter: some believe the authorities maybe came in on the $40,000 cash that was delivered to the home shortly before the fire and discovery of the family's bodies. >> the interesting thing about money is it usually comes from

from a real place. that's how we're working to bring out the best. good morning. it's 7:26. i'm kris sanchez. today, protesters plan to gather at facebook headquarters in menlo park. they are upset over policies requiring users to provide their real identities when they use aliases for the facebook pages. drag queens are among those who oppose the rules. also domestic violence survivors. a while back facebook decided to allow people to continue using false identities but they did require real identities will submitted for security purposes. opponents say that leaves them vulnerable to discrimination and bullying. police have not identified the man and woman arrested in a late night police chase in the south bay. they are accused of trying to strike an officer with their car and later ramming a patrol car.

7:30 now on this monday morning. it's the first day of june 2015 and it's a wet one. wet start to the work week here in the northeast. that has not stopped our plaza guests from having a good time. we'll check on them in a few moments. by the way, the rain is our top story this morning. heavy downpours leading to widespread flooding in parts of new jersey overnight. and it was a similar scene in dallas texas, too, where yet another storm had flood waters there on the rise. the nsa's authority to collect phone data expired overnight. senator rand paul used senate rules to block extension of the programs. but a vote on the compromised

bill is expected to come in the next few days. and at least three people were injured including a 9-year-old girl when a porsche jumped a curb and slammed into a wall at los angeles international airport. police say they believe the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake. let's begin this half hour with a "today" exclusive. tracy morgan is with us live to speak out for the first time since that deadly car accident that nearly took his life. we're going to talk to him in a moment, but first more on that crash. >> reporter: it was a deadly scene. >> there is a terrible accident. the car flipped. >> reporter: a limousine bus carries tracy morgan and others flipped on its side after it was hit by a walmart tractor-trailer. it killed fellow comedian james mcnair and left tracy morgan severely injured. they were on their way home from a delaware casino performance.

the comedian suffered brain trauma in addition to a broken leg, ribs and nose. he's undergone physical therapy and has only been seen in public a few times. >> i'm brian fellows. >> reporter: the "snl" alum even admits the 40th anniversary special for the show this year. >> i wish tracy morgan was here tonight. he was hoping he was well enough to be here too. >> reporter: last week he reached a statement with walmart issuing a statement saying walmart did right by me and my family and for my associates and their families. the retail giant adding we are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved. tracy morgan is with us now exclusively along with his attorney benedict morelli. good morning to both of you. >> good morning. >> you're a sight for sore eyes. >> thank you. >> how do you feel?

>> i'm -- i'm -- i can't believe i'm here. i can't believe i'm in front of you. i can't believe i'm just here. just seeing the tragedy that happened it kind of -- it touches me. >> give me a sense of what the last year has been like for you emotionally. >> i've been down. i have my family. you know i have my wife. we're about to be married. and my daughter my son. to keep my spirits up. then i have ben and mark and all these people to help me get my spirits up. and tina fey and all the people calling me. the case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for jimmy mac. a he was a close friend of mine. he was a loving man and a warm man. he was a good man. it's hard that he's gone. that's it. >> can i ask you to take me back to june of last year tracy and

that accident? >> i don't remember the accident. i just remember when i came through, megan my fiance was right there, my son was right there. and mark was right there and ben was right there. and that's basically what i remember. >> you were in a limo type of a van or a because that was hit by a tractor-trailer that was going over the speed limit. the impact was devastating as we've seen those pictures. you say you don't remember the accident. did you see james mcnair after the accident? >> the last time i saw jimmy, jimmy wrote a joke for me. it was a donald sterling joke and i asked him to come with me the day before. he said i'll be there. i love you, peace. we went there and i did the joke and everybody got an applause break and i saw jimmy there laughing. >> when did you find out he died in the crash?

>> two weeks later when i came out of the coma. my lady told me we put jimmy to rest. i had just come out of a coma. then when i got home it really hit me. and every day i would just watch the accident on youtube and one day i came across his funeral on youtube and i just -- i lost it for about a week. >> a lot of people wouldn't have wanted to go to youtube and see that. why was it important for you to go see that? >> because i had to know what happened to my friend. i had to know and i had to pay my respect. and that was my way. >> after the accident tracy, there were so many varied reports of your condition. some said you were in a coma. some said just broken bones. what injuries exactly did you suffer? >> well as you can see the scars on my head there are times where i have my good days and my bad days where i forget

things. you know there are times where i got the headaches and the nosebleeds. i won't even let my lady know because i don't want her to be worried about it. but i have my good days and bad days. >> you speak about your lady. you told me something in the green room a moment ago that you almost always travel with your family. that when you do gigs you already always bring them with you, and this one time because your daughter was teething, you did not bring them. >> yeah. i told megan, i said you and the baby stay home. i'll go to delaware and be right back. because i know when i look at that accident i don't think -- my daughter was 10 months old. she wouldn't have made it and megan wouldn't have made it. i don't know man. that's really been the thing that tears me up. >> one thing we want to say is that tracy went from robert wood hospital in new jersey to jfk

because of his head injury. and they did such a great job there for him. and i know tracy has told me many times including yesterday that he wanted to thank dr. brian greenwald who is a brain injury expert and he still sees and takes care of tracy. that's a great hospital at jfk. and i think you also wanted to thank a few people. >> nurse jackie. when i first came out the coma i was a mess. i would curse her out every day. i would throw things at her. the only thing she would say to me is everything is going to be all right. so one day i went to see dr. greenwald and i've been having these dreams about my room that he was in. he said do you want to go upstairs and see it. when i got off the elevator i seen all these faces coming to me that i remembered. guess who came around the corner. nurse jackie. and i just grabbed her and wouldn't let her go. i said i'm sorry, i'm sorry. she said i told you everything

was going to be all right. and i had david. he was a nurse there. he would rub me on my hand and say everything going to be all right, young blood. >> and the thing is matt that you want to know that walmart took full responsibility for this. >> i wanted to get to that. has the emotional side been harder for you to deal with than the physical side? >> well, bones heal. but the loss of my friend will never heal. because we known each other a long time. but i'm happy that walmart stepped up to the plate in a tremendous way. and they took full responsibility as you said because it's true. they took full responsibility. i'm just really happy that they looked out for jimmy mac's family. i know my friend can rest in peace now. in the beginning there was a misunderstanding but that got squared away and they came through in the clutch.

>> what are your goals? do you want to get back to performing? >> i love comedy. i love comedy. i'll never stop loving her. i love comedy and i can't wait to get back to her. but right now my goal is just to heal and get better. because i'm not 100% yet. i'm not. and when i'm there, you'll know it. i'll get back to making you laugh. i promise you. >> you always have. >> there's one thing, matt that i want to say. and tracy -- >> i'd like to say to my son and the brother and all the people that stopped that night to get us out, my drivers ty and ed because they literally tried to pull us out, please let me say this. and i want to thank the helicopter people that took us to the hospital. and the ambulance drivers and police that was on the highway that night and just the passerbies that tried to help. everybody helped our lives.

on horses and boats to try to save these cows. they were able to do it to get them to a nearby rail yard. but 600 head of cattle who were stranded by the flooding that really continues today right on into parts of texas and oklahoma. and as we show you right now, we've got a flood threat from texas all the way to the northeast. 33 million people at risk. here in the northeast multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms the next couple days. the record flooding in texas. upper level low around the four corners. here in the east we were warm and dry. we flipped the switch and here's what happened. we've got a flip-flop. we get drier air through texas. but up and down the eastern seaboard. we've got rain with beneficial rain but unfortunately going to good morning. i'm meteorologist kari hall. we're looking across the bay at a mixture of sun and clouds.

good monday morning. it's 7:56. i'm sam brock. happening today, san francisco supervisors will consider a plan to get tough on soda and other sugary drinks. one part of the plan is a warning label on advertising for soda and other sugar-sweetened drinks. the labels would require a warning of potential health dangers and tooth decay. another proposal would ban soda advertisements on city property. a san francisco soda tax measure failed last year. robin williams' family are expected back in court today to settle a dispute over his estate. a judge two months ago ordered the late actor's wife and children to try and work out the differences amongst themselves. since then, most issues have been settled, but both sides are still reportedly divided over the money. right now as you start you day, a few sprinkles out there. keep an umbrella handy. meteorologist kari hall joining us now. >> a welcomed sight.

tomorrow marks one year since the stills first found out that leah had cancer. i had the chance to visit with her in the hospital on friday where she suffered a setback in treatment. the doctors are working hard to get her recovery back on track. >> reporter: just two months ago, the still family celebrated with leah as her dad announced a scan showed no results of any active disease in leah's body. >> the strength comes from your heart. my daughter has shown tremendous strength. >> reporter: with her spirits high and doctors giving the green light, devon surprised his daughter with a trip to disney world at the end of april. but on friday his social media account reflected a very different message. leah had hit a pretty serious complication. after 5-year-old leah was admitted to the hospital on may 5th she began intensive in-patient treatment in preparation for a stem cell

transplant. according to the cincinnati bengals defensive tackle, they caught it early so hopefully it gives the doctors a better chance of stopping it from getting aggressive. leah was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma last summer shortly before he was cut from the bengals. the team announced they were keeping him on the roster so the treatment would be covered by the team's insurance. leah's supporters have followed her valiant struggle with updates on her father's instagram account. and by watching here on "today." >> what happened and you didn't cry? >> tube. >> a tube came out and she said i didn't cry. good for you. >> reporter: she even had a role in my truly brave music video where there was an anthem for those struggling with cancer. now devon is asking for prayers

natalee holloway disappeared on a high school graduation trip to aruba. in a minute her mother speaks out in an exclusive live interview. first, the question that has haunted her for a decade. what happened to natalee. >> reporter: 3655 days since natalee holloway vanished. vivacious. natalee was on vacation with classmates in aruba when their last night on the island may 30th 2005 natalee left a popular bar with a handsome 17-year-old local boy and two other friends. she hasn't been seen since. natalee's parents were frantic. >> i'm not leaving aruba without her. >> reporter: they searched for months but found nothing. vander sloat and the others were arrested but released for lack of evidence. then five years to the day after natalie disappeared,

surveillance video showed joren in peru. he left a room with stephany flores he leaves and she was found dead. he pled guilty for murder. he was sentenced to 28 years in prison where he still is today. he remains the focus of media attention surrounding natalee holloway. >> always been very how you call it impulsive. >> reporter: in ten years there have been numerous new leads. the latest a man claiming he saw joren carrying natalie's body at a hotel construction site. like all the others there's nothing to this lead leaving natalee's family and friends to wonder if they ever will ever learn the truth of what happened that night. beth holloway is with us exclusively along with her attorney. good morning to both of you. >> good morning. >> beth so good to see you. so many people were invested in this story, you in particular kind of living this through you. they want to know how you're

doing, how you feel on this anniversary? >> it's hard to believe it's been ten years. that just -- it's just amazing how time has gone by. and, you know where i am today is in a good place. and i've been able to redefine my life and i've been able to find joy and happiness through my son, through my son's new family through my work. so i think i'm in a good place now. >> i know you have a new grand baby. that always kind of brings a smile to your face. >> oh, i do. just the love of my life. just adorable. so i have a lot of good things in my life to celebrate and to have joy back in my life. >> these anniversaries have to be hard and one of the reasons is there always seems to be a crop of stories that come up around these times about new leads. we had this report that natalie's father was pursuing a lead in aruba, somebody who claimed he may have seen her body being disposed of at this construction site. what do you think about that

story? do you think there's any truth to it? >> well actually there is no truth to that story. we have to think about it. every time there's an anniversary coming up whether it's the five year mark the ten year mark there's always -- i hate to say it some craze yis that come out and they have so placed themselves in natalie's story and, you know it's empty. there is nothing to that story. and this particular -- in particular this individual he's been around for a while trying to get traction to get attention, but he has no information. >> does that make you angry? >> make me angry? i think it just makes me sad that you know he would just keep trying to insert himself into this role of her disappearance and that he has information when it's actually untrue. there's nothing about it that's true. >> from almost the very beginning joren was a prime suspect and certainly a focus of the investigation. of course he never was prosecuted in aruba but as fate

would have it traveled to peru was convicted of murdering a young lady there and is convicted of serving a 28 year sentence. he's been permitted to get married and have a baby. i wonder how that sits with you? >> the way i look at it is i don't -- i don't care about that. i don't care what peru allows joren to do because i can't control it. do i like it? no. i wish the peruvian judicial guidelines but since i can't control it i don't care about that. what i care about is information as to what happened to natalee. i just try to stay focused on the facts and just let the other information go because i can't control that. >> does it feel like justice to you that he is in jail right now even if not for the killing of your daughter? >> well i think right now what is happening is stephanie, for the murder of stephanie, justice is being served for stephanie, but until joran faces extorsion

charges in the u.s. then justice is not being served for natalee. >> that's sometimes a decision in the midst of this case to give him $25,000. he said to you, i will tell you where the body is. instead he made off with the money, that's what the accusation is, and went to peru. >> yes. >> this is the basis of the extorsion charges. what are the fact that he will be extradited? >> he will be extradited. the u.s. tried to get him to face charges and serve out the sentence but peruvian court said no. there is a hold on him and he will be brought directly to alabama so he's got a long way to go. >> it's a 28 year sentence. what are the chances he has to serve the 28 years. >> he could get time off for hard work or good behavior none of which is in his dna. >> he's facing another 28 years.

a book that i had studied at school and it just felt like what i really wanted to do. it was a chance to be in a kind of different period of drama, so to speak. >> i was reading a bunch of articles about you last night. one of them said that your mom has a -- has trouble watching "game of thrones" because of all of the violence in it. >> she said -- what did she say to me on the phone last night? she said are you in danger in this one? i said yes, mom, i'm in danger in this one. she said i don't like it when you're in danger. >> will she watch this one? >> this one i'm in mortal danger again. i don't know i'm not going through a very easy ride with my career. >> the other thing i read about you is that you don't love the hunk status that has been bestowed upon you. why? >> i -- it's not that i don't love it i just don't like being asked about it i guess. someone said do you like being a hunk? which is a kind of ridiculous question. >> so i did it in slightly a

june almost a year ago, june 7. tracy was traveling back to new york from a comedy performance in delaware in a limousine bus carrying him and six others turned into its side after slammed into by a tractor-trailer going over the speed limit. the accident killed tracy's good friend comedian james mcnair. tracy calls him jamie mack. matt asked how this past year has been for tracy. >> the case is settled but the pain is always going to be there for jimmy mack. he's a close friend of mine comrade in comedy he was a loving man, and he was a warm man. he was a good man. it's hard to's gone. >> is one of his oldest buddies who was with him. tracy also spoke about a lucky twist of fate that his family who typically traveled with him, was not with him that night.

>> i told megan, i said you and the baby stay home and we'll go to delaware and i'll be right back. because i know when i look at that accident my daughter was 10 months old. she wouldn't have made it and megan wouldn't have made it. i don't know man. that's the thing that tears me up. >> tracy was in a coma for a couple weeks after. didn't find out that jimmy mack died until after he came out of the coma and said his only way of paying respect was to go on line and actually watch the funeral on youtube. he talked to matt about that. >> i would watch the accident on youtube, and one day i came across this funeral on youtube. and i just -- i lost it for about a week. >> a lot of people wouldn't have wanted to go to youtube and see that. why was it important for you? >> i have to know what happened to my friend. i didn't know. and i had to pay my respects.

and that was my way. >> tracy really if you watch the full interview the at today.com, how much he loved these people but also the people he took care of. he thanked the staff, nurse jackie he went down the list of all those that took care of him from the bystanders that night that pulled him out to the helicopter pilot who medevaced him out. he did say he is not 100% but wants to return to comedy and make people laugh. he had a brain injury facial fracture that he pointed to his leg was shattered and he had blood clot in one of his eyes. very serious injury. >> he came in the studio here it was really -- you were there. he came around and hugged everybody. a lot of the crew members worked with him on "saturday night live" so emotional to see him back. matt's taking him over to

they're preventable. one of the major things to focus on is hand hygiene. not only your own hands, but the hands of your caregivers the doctors, the nurses, the staff that surround you every day. first of all take care of yourself first. when you're going for a test, when you're touching any surface in the hospital, you have to remember a lot of patients have been touching them who could have very serious infections you don't want to get. you want to wash your hands carefully. you want to keep the sanitizer ready at all times. and you want to encourage those who visit you and the staff to make sure they wash your hands as well. >> even though they are cleaning the hospitals up and down and doing everything possible to maintain the pristine clean, somehow infections still manage to live on the surface. >> they do. and fortunately many of the germs you'll find in thedeadlier. they're more resistant to antibiotics because they've been exposed to so many in the hospital. these are not the infections you want get. you may go in with one thing and

come out with something different. people are shy about questioning the doctor or nurse. we have pins where i work saying ask me if i've washed my hands. this is your right. >> you say track your tests and medications. what does that mean? >> your nurses come around every few hours dolling out the medications. it's easy to have a mixup put the wrong medicine. ask what is this i'm getting, why am i getting it today. >> even if you're not in the position to do it find someone to help you. >> it's important. many of us have had loved ones in the hospital. we ask those important questions. when you're the sick person in the hospital, you're distracted not feeling well, not sleeping well, it's great to have an advocate there by your side to ask those important questions. >> you say get a second opinion when you're in the hospital as well. >> absolutely. when in the hospital you can still get a second opinion. if someone's recommending

faith, so of course with you know, my faith and then just being proactive. everything i did in the search for natalee. even when i was traveling around the country talking to our young adults about personal and travel safety i felt that was -- at first it started out as a cathartic experience but then it turned to where i saw how the impact that it had on these young lives. >> gave your life purpose. >> it did. >> beyond finding your daughter. >> yes. it gave it purpose and meaning and, you know, i was able to then, you know, see the silver lining in our tragedy. through our tragedy, i took our -- what all that we learned into a learning experience for others. >> as it's been a roller coaster in a sense, hasn't it that you would get leads and i'm sure your hopes soared, we're going to find out. have you given up hope that you will find natalee ever? or do you think -- given up hope on finding out what happened to her? two different things. >> well, actually i do think

it's very possible that we could find more information and, of course, it's up to jorren who has the information and he's not talking right now. i think it's still possible that we could find where her remains are. i no longer believe that natalee is alive. >> okay. >> but i do feel that is possible. and you know, and joran is still facing the extortion charges in the united states. he will be extradited when his term is over with the peruvian judicial system. >> when you look at video of him how -- i mean i can't imagine looking at this kid and imagining what he may have done and not feeling angry, which obviously -- >> or hatred. >> that turns to bitterness in a second in people. how have you managed not to have that? >> i think i've always tried to focus on what i could control. i can't control who joran is or what he did, but i can control what i want to do with my life
