forecast with kari al. >> it's cloudy outside. grab a light jacket as you anti-depressant out. right now san francisco at 57 degrees. the north bay at 50 degrees. we are headed into the lowerer 70s this afternoon. upper 70s in the east bay with a mix of sun and clouds. not a bad tuesday. maybe rain in the forecast for the weekend. that's coppinging up this in a few minutes oop o --. now a check on the traffic. >> the golden gate bridge? yes, it is. the orangish glow there. we talked about the moisture and fog in the air, similar to yesterday. visibility tougher now across the golden gate. you see to problems as far as the light traffic there or for the rest are of the bay. the big look shows you the east bay drive toward the area and the south bay. the freeways are moving smoothly. back to you. there is an issue for one of the

first stories. >> we'll take it, hockey. we begin with breaking news. an overnight fire destroying a home worth millions. >> chris sanchez is live where crews are keeping an eye out for flames this morning. everyone made it out okay. >> yeah. it's good to start with the good news. five people live inside the home. all five made it out okay. the bad news is at least the woel second floor appears to be a loss. the incident commander dennis lawley said the response was fast. the fire house is just down the street. another crew was responding just down the road to another den. as fast as the response was the flames were faster. as they arrived around 2:30 this morning, 3,000 square foot house, two stories high was already fully engulfed at least on the second level. the folks wo live inside the home were able to wake up and

get out. >> i walk around the back and see smoke off the roof. i ended up see ing smoke coming out of a window. and i knew the house was on fire. so i ran back in, woke everybody up and got everybody out. >> so she's the hero. she was able to get everybody awake and out of the house. the incident commander said it was too dangerous to go inside. they are still dousing the second story with lots of water. we still see flames and smoke. everyone is outside. pg & e is here. you may have seen the power pole. the power line came down on the row. firefighters add to move it. now pg & e waiting until's safe to restore power to the area.

>> very fortunate for the family. thank you. now a developing story in livermore investigators are waiting for daylight to look at a deadly plane crash. >> live fear the crash scene this morning. bob, the pilot reported trouble controlling the plane. >> reporter: the yes, the pilot took off around 9:00 when he radioed the control are tower. i listened to a partial clip of the conversation. what sounds like a calm voice you can hear him say he has a, slight control problem with his plane. he's telling the radio control are tower eel circle arou around check it out. sortly after that, the plane went down in a field about three miles northeast of the airport in a sr. very wide open space not far from the intersection of north livermore hartford. you can see in the pictures the crash started a small two acre

brush fire which the fire department was able to put out. fortunately the area where the plane crashed is remote. a good mile or two away from homes. the sheriff's office says the pilot die theed at the scene, was the only person on board. they don't know who it is. it will be up to the kcoroner. the damage is so bad they have not been able to decipher a tail number. the investigators know it was a piper paa-22. you can see a similar aircraft in this photo. a small single engine plane, the kind you see taking off and landing from punl airports on a regular basis. we expect members of the team later today. a possible preliminary report out in a couple of weeks. reporting live inmore, bob riddell, today in the bay. >> parents at a tr are i valley day care are shock that a belod workerer was arrested for lewd

and la sieve use are acts on a child. he worked at building kids day care in pleasanton and was taken into custody at the school. s i alleged victim is a 13-year-old girl who attended the after school program last year. she is not currently a student. the alleged molestation happened in december of last year. last night parents had an emotional meeting with police. >> it breaks my heart that somebody went through that and the moms and dads have to go through that. i hope it never happens again to anybody. >> meantime alex curt z is out on bail. police tell us it is an ongoing investigation. so far no other victims have come forward. oakland city leaders are expected to approve a big cash infusion to boost fire prevention. not everyone is on boardment oakland's fire department is up for a $4 million federal grant to cover costs to remove highly flammable eucalyptus trees and

conditioner for a few minutes this the me fins la, 74 degrees and south bay. 75 degrees by the end of the day. our highs this afternoon. not only will we have a warmer day, but it will be breezy. the northwesterly flow kicks up to about 15 to possibly near 20 miles per hour. while we have breezy conditions going on here, it is down right windy and wet out in the pacific. the good thus, nobody is really experiencing that. a category two hurricane over the next couple of days it is expected to make a turn a little bit more easterly. not great news. but it will be weakening. it may be just enough to connect with moisture and bring some of that into the southwest. not only that. but we have tropical storm blan ka happen ing right behind andres. it may have a direct hit on cabo. we'll keep an eye on that.
