everyone. it is 4:30 in the morning. i'm scott mcgrew in for sam. >> you stressed that. good morning to karen hall. >> good morning, as we start out the day, a few more clouds across the bay with temperatures in the upper 50s in some spots, even some lower 50s this morning. as we go into the rest of the day, how about 71 degrees for the south bay? 74 for the east bay peninsula, 68 degrees for san francisco this afternoon, reaching 64 degrees, it will be a breezy day, as we look at some of the microclimates across the bay. walnut creek 75 degrees and livermore today topping out at 74 with some more sunshine. i'll have a look at the rest of the microclimate forecast, still keeping hope alive for more rain, that's coming up in a few minutes. right now let's check in with

mike. >> good morning, folks. we're looking at a crystal clear view of that tower, the bay bridge crossing between francis and oakland. you get a nice look at the traffic, or we're look at the maps. traffic flow is very nice all around the bay, no major problems, as you would imagine, so even in the south bay a very light volume of traffic coming over the hill from santa cruz. back to you a developing story, the search is on for a hit-and-run driver who ran into a pedestrian blocks away from san francisco city hall. >> stephanie, the suspect may have been involved in a robbery? >> reporter: that's right. the police believe the car was involved in a robbery of some sort. it was a block down near mission where the car actually hit a pedestrian. you can see some some of the

video we got right after it happened, a pair of sneakers in the middle of 8th street with evidence markers as police tried to gather what they could. the victim was taken to san francisco general with life-threatening injuries. police say it began last night when officials in a marked vehicle got behind a suspected robbery vehicle. the driver sped off, hit the pedestrian, then continued on two miles to the bay bridge, headed to oakland where police lost in near the 580 split around emeryville. both the local police and chp say they didn't hear anything overnight. again, the victim fight fog his life at san francisco general, so police are hoping they'll catch a break and catch the driver who is responsible. live in san francisco, stephanie chuang, "today in the bay"

wind forecast coming in from the northwest, not so much of a strong onshore flow, but the fog will be rolling out fairly quickly, the marine layer a bit thinner today, so expect more sunshine and it would start to pick up this afternoon. by 3:00, winds coming in at about 15 miles an hour, a little bit stronger for half moon bay at 27 miles an hour, and then look at how strong these winds get later on this evening, up to 34 miles an hour sustained winds at half moon bay with even higher gusts. keep that in mind. also keeping that in mind for the giants game today versus the pirates. first pitch 58 degrees with a mixture of sun and clouds by the end of the game. breezy and cool, making that ball head way out to left field and the winds from the northwest at 15 to 25 miles an hour. let's look ahead to the weekend. for the south bay reaching into the mid 70s, peninsula 74

anymore, i'm tired of the, you know, stuff chocolate can be harmful. animal control and police are looking into the pet owners' complaints 14 sea lion pups are back in the wild this morning. the pups were released yesterday off the southern california cost, they were being treated for malnutrition when someone dumped chlorine into the rehabilitation pool in laguna, but there they go. yeah, it took a month for those pups to recover. officials still don't know who was responsible for the attack, but it's good to see them going investigators in southern california are trying to figure out where more globs of tar came from. the tar balls, no doubt affecting lots of animals came into zuma beach in mall due yesterday.

home, 68 degrees, once again it will be windy at 75 degrees. most likely be around 4:00 this afternoon. so let's take you to the south bay, and our temperatures right snow, morgan hill 51 degrees in downtown san jose, 56 degrees and 51 degrees now in milpitas, and 50 degrees as we look starts the north bay, mostly cloudy skies, but the wind forecast that will be an issue today. it will come in from the northwest and 13 miles an hour in orunna, and it picking up, as we go into the evening. at times those gusts over 30 miles an hour. also very gusty around tropical storm andres, monday confess category 4, yesterday 2, today a

tropical storm. it has been weakening quite a bit. into the next couple days it will just get smaller, the storm fizzling out. by saturday it just becomes a rem nan area of low pressure. but more of concern will be hurricane blanca, mainly because this could impact land. the track brings it into cabo. if it continues on this path, it may be a direct hit. this appears on saturday with the possibility of coming inland for a tropical storm. for us that brings in more moisture e -- we'll see if that low pressure -- area of low pressure that's causing that air to rise, but right now it looks like a few spotty slow ty showe slight chance of a thunderstorm especially for the north bay on sunday.

pulled out a knife, and they shot him. i6 ibrahim tweeted, his last words, i can't breathe. a stark contrast to what authorities in boston are saying, the ap reports that videos show police officers backing away as he lunged at them. the they crashed in a remote hillside last month on a humanitarian aid mission after twot powerful earthquakes. today's memorial service will be held at camp pendleton. the cause of the crash is still unclear. security or invasion of privacy. the fbi is confirming it controls a fleet of planes that are mounted with sophisticated video cameras and cell phone tracking devices, sometimes called stingrays.
