francisco general with life-threatening injuries. official say it began whether officers got behind a blue bmw four-door sedan that investigators believe was used earlier in a robbery. it headed to oakland where police lost it. the oakland police and chp are helping san francisco police, the lead agency, but they say they didn't hear anything new overnight. so serious crime, life-threatening injuries, no one behind bars for it. thank you, stephanie. new video, rescued and then taken to jail. a chp chopper had to rescue a man who was trapped in the rocks. rescuers plucked him from the rocks, but in the helicopters crews say he became combat tiff.

department of agriculture. now the organization is matching ebt customers' purchases up to $5. this follows the latest, the president sepp blatter suddenly resigned days after his reelection. he's been under fire after nine executives were arrested. some reports indicate he may be under investigation. he says he'll exit when you know a new leader is found, which is not expected for months a pattern of abuse, that's the accusation against ray mcdonald in newly released court documents. those documents were filed by mcdonald's ex-off and on seay as she applied for a temporary restraining order. she claims shortly after the couple got engaged, he began a pattern of abuse that escalated

greet visitors at super bowl city, both in san francisco and in south bay in the week leading up to the game. some volunteers will also be stationed at bay area airports, hotels, ferry and train stations and major tourist destination. the applications begin ga. we'll link you from our website as well, but there are also positions for kids as young as 14, all the way up to adults. most of the positions are for adults. applicants have to pass a fbi background check and have to be willing to work at least three shifts. face-to-face interviews are this summer, orientation in the fall. you may not get tickets to the super bowl, but you get to keep your nifty uniform. be a part of history, right? >> i think so.

it's about where we will be for the first pitch at 12:45 against the pirates. the giants facing off with the pirates, and it would be windy, too. winds coming out of the northwest, 15 to 25 miles an hour, so with those northwesterly winds, the ball heading out to left field, so be mindful of that, maybe a blanket to stay warm. santa rosa reaches 79 degrees, nice and warm there. so we've been talking about those winds, this is the way it pans out. by noon we're seeing the winds coming in at about 14 miles an hour here on the map, and into the rest of the day the winds picking up to 25 to possibly over 30 miles an hour, just blowing your hair all over the place. ladies, i have to issue a skirt alert for this afternoon. as we look at the fusscast, a mixture of clouds, especially for the bay and san francisco, the rest of is getting some

california are have are trying to figure out where more globs of tar came from. they watched up on zuma beach yesterday. the coast guard sets it's a fraction of what was found on another beach last week. tests are under way to find out if that tar is related to last month's oil spill near santa barbara. if i were a betting man, i would say most likely. >> they're out there cleaning it up pretty fast. a good day to head to the beach? >> cloudy to start, but the wind will be the big story today. we may have some gusts over 35 miles an hour this afternoon. here is what you need to know, as you walk out the door. the sunrise at 5:48 coming up very quickly, widespread clouds this morning, but they will clear this afternoon by lunchtime. and by this evening we see the

fog returning to the bay area. sunset at 8:24. here is the big story out in the pacific. tropical storm andres, and winds -- the storm has really been weakening. it makes a hard right turn. this thing is fizzling out, but the other story that we'll all by watching, especially from one of the favorite vacation spots in cabo now is hurricane blanca. a category 2 hurricane. it is expected to track up the coast into cabo, making landfall possibly by saturday into sunday, as a tropical storm, and then that moisture streams in across the southwestern parts of the country, especially around los angeles, then over towards arizona. what we will watch to see is if this moisture is make it gnarl enough north to get into the bay. but right now the models are having a heart time picking up on a chance of rain, but at least some showers for the north

bay, and then farther to the north. i know with everyone watching the weekend and union street festival happening, and it would be 65 degrees, that chance of showers, also some cloudy skies on sunday, and 66 degrees. the weekend forecast, it would be cool in a lot of spots across the bay peninsula, 75 degrees, san francisco once again mid 60s. in the east bay 70 degrees. the warmest temperatures, if you want to take a dip in the pool, you lower 80s for the tri-valley, a few showers possible, maybe even a bit of thunder for the north bay. let's let everybody know the entire bay, the colors look very smooth, but yes, i was tracking a fire reported in oakland, eastbound 580 right near the broadway off-ramp.

good morning, fremont. it is 5:25. in south carolina apparently a drunk man crashed his car and couldn't get out as the car burst into flames. what happened next, caught on camera. take a look. a police officers arrives shortly after that fire breaks out. remember, the driver is still in there. you officer trying to put it out with the extinguisher, then pulls the man out here, gets him to safety. everybody will be okay. an am track train, bang, carrying 171 passengers collides with a car. everybody in the car is okay. they walked away with minor cuts and bruises apparently trying to

beat the train. two people were actually ejected from the car, and nobody on the train hurt. >> never try to go against a train. 5:25 right now, a developing story. dimming hoping for rescuing hundreds of tourists trapped aboard a cruise ship. this video shows the final moments before a violent storm causes the ship to overturn early yesterday morning with 458 tourists on board. 26 bodies have been found, 14 people have been rescued, including the ship's captain and chief engineer. this morning a majority of those 546 on board remain unaccounted for. today we could learn more about the terror suspect with bay area ties killed by police in boston. 26-year-old usaama rahim was under surveillance by the fbi and joint terrorism task force. authorities haven't said why he was under investigation, but

around, for instance, 8th and market at 10:30 last night. the victim was taken to san francisco general hospital with life-threatening injuries. it began when officers in a marked vehicle got beth hind the blue bmw four-door sedan, which investigators believe was used in an earlier robbery. the car sped out, hit the pedestrian and continued on for two miles officer to oakland where police lost it around the 5850 split. they say they did not hear anything new overnight, especially with someone so badly injured, police are hoping for tips to catch the person respond.

welcome back. a one-time republican is expected to throw his hat into the ring to the democratic nomination for president today. former rhode island governor and senator lincoln chaffee will make the announcement during a speech in virginia this afternoon. he began his career as a gop, became an independent, then a democrat in 2013. he will become the fourth democrat to join the presidential race a secret air force spy mission over american cities reportedly run by the fbi. tracie potts, these planes tube surveillance video and tracks cell phones as well? >> exactly. this is an fbi program that a lot of people were aware they used planes, as many as 100 of them or perhaps more.

towards burlingame, now 54 degrees. the east bay now at 55 degrees. let's take you all the way out to the pacific. we've been keeping a close eye on tropical storm andres. now wind speeds at 70 miles an hour. into the next couple days, the storm just makes a hard right turn just weakens. and but we are keeping a closer eye on what may make a bigger impact, especially for cabo, hurricanes blanca. this storms has strengthened, may strengthen to a category 3, possibly making landfall on sunday and could stream moisture even into southern california and arizona by the end of the weekend. bringses it back to today, morrison hill reaching 74 degrees, a mixture of sun and clouds. fremont today, 69 degrees in
