coming up on "early today," extreme weather heading into the weekend for parts of the country. we will show you what's in store. officials say america may have been hit by the larger cyber attack in u.s. history. guess who's behind it. a machete, tomahawks, knives and a huge amount of ammunition, the cash of weapons connected to the white house fence jumper. a big night for lebron and steph leads to over time. an up-skirt pervert caught in the act still on the loose. free doughnuts. it's national doughnut day, of course. heavy storms and this, a tornado on the move. it is one of two confirmed to touch down. that's not all. there was another threat, hail. you can hear it coming down hard. add flooding to that and it kept rescue crews from getting a better idea of the damage. there were no reported injuries. several homes were disseminated, ripped open like the walls were made of tissue paper. lightning also lit up the sky. it's not over. storms are expected to continue there this weekend. also this morning, the obama administration is scrambling to assess the impact of a massive data breach believed to have originated in china. as many as 4 million current and former federal employees could be affected. how about that are people notified. >> well, millions of people that

white house fence jumper had inside his car. that man made it deep inside the building before he was finally taken down. nbc senior white house correspondent chris jansing has more. >> reporter: these are the weapons omar gonzalez brought to washington the day he scaled the fence, a machete, tomahawks, numerous knives and a huge amount of ammunition. the cash found his ford bronco is described in chilling detail in a 25-page sentencing report. >> if the secret service had categorized its threat, this is like defcon five. this is a very serious situation. >> reporter: once he got inside this white house, he was carrying this knife with a 3.5 inch serrated blade. this is where they found his car and all those weapons. about 15 minutes that direction is the white house. it was not his first run-in with police or the secret service. an even more threatening arsenal was found when virginia state police pulled him over last july. high-powered rifles, a sawed-off shot gun, handguns and a map with the white house

highlighted. he was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but that sentence was suspended. >> the mitigating factors would be that the defendant did not have enough of a criminal record and frankly no one was injured during this incident. >> reporter: this time prosecutors are recommending 21 months in prison and three years supervised release. at the white house temporary metal spikes have been clamped on to the existing barricade. nine months later, still no permanent fix for a fence that's proved tempting. >> nbc reporting. this morning a horrifying pattern in colorado is raising the question could there be a serial sniper on the loose. the latest victim was shot dead wednesday night while out for a walk. two weeks ago a man was killed riding his bike, and in late april another person was shot in the neck driving on the interstate. it's all happening 90 minutes north of denver. investigators say the first two shootings are connected, and now

they are looking into this newest one as a possible connection along with about a dozen reports of random blown-out car windows in the area. there is a new millionaire in town. anthony perosi, a plumber on staten island won $136 million in the powerball jackpot. he actually won on march 14th but didn't check the ticket which he hid behind a pipe in his basement until recently. >> i took the tickets and i checked them on the computer, and i saw that they matched. i tried to breathe in and nothing would go in. so i thought i was having a heart attack. so i grabbed the ticket figuring they'll find it in my hand. then i finally exhaled. >> perosi plans to split the lump sum of the $88.5 million with his son. the third leg of horse racing's triple crown is tomorrow. all eyes are on american pharaoh. the winner of the kentucky derby and the preakness is looking to make history for the first time in 37 years. nbc's jay gray is live at belmont park in elmont, new york.

elusive crimes. >> reporter: since 1978 13 horses have won the first two legs of the triple crown and only to fall short at the belmont. the mile and a half here is the longest that any of the horses have or will run. distance that separating really good horses from the greatest of all-times. >> yeah, >> reporter: yeah, and we have been talking that people think that american pharoah is one of the greatest. has to prove it. tomorrow the forecast is great. come up here. who are you going to pick? >> come on. given the odds it's american pharoah.
