forces has suffered a string of defeats against isis, notably in the important city of ramadi. a new proposal reportedly sending 500 military advisors to the area. they would potentially help the iraqi military training them to take back ramadi. the national security counsel says it's considering a range of options. after four days and the lam the search for those two convicted killers who escaped from a maximum security prison has turned into an international man hunt. that came up empty. now we're getting new perspectives on the investigation. first, stephanie gosk spoke exclusively to the person of interest in the case. she works in the prison.

uproar really concerned about getting these guys off the street. >> reporter: scores of local state and federal officers scoured the area after reporteds that two men ducked into the woods there. late last night, only a few remained. richard matt and david sweat are still on the loose after cutting through the steel walls of their cells and crawling to a manhole a mile away. >> in 2016 the technology we have it's pretty bizarre that he got out. >> reporter: they are questioning a prison worker who went to the hospital with a case of nerves the day they escaped. her son says she'd never help them escape unless she was forced. >> other family members might be at risk you do a lot of things to protect your family. >> reporter: the other big mystery here is what about those tools, the power tools that had

to have been used to cut through the steel walls of the cells? where did they get them kwm? >> it's so baffling how they got away and continue to stay away. the texas police officer who made headlines for drawing his gun on teenagers at a pool party has resigned. officer eric casebolt has turned in his badge amid an investigation. >> he came into the call out of control and as the video shows was out of control during the incident. >> casebolt a ten-year veteran of the department has voluntarily stepped down. he could still face criminal charges pending an investigate. two bomb threats targeting capital hill and the white

house. >> reporter: the order came without warning. a bomb threat phoned into washington, d.c. police lead to the unprecedented evacuation shortly after 2:00 p.m. during the daily televised briefing. quickly ushered out of the building just steps from the west wing. president obama was in the white house and was not evacuated. the first family was in the residence, also not evacuated. one reporter asking if the press should stay in place. >> folks keep moving. >> reporter: secret service officers and a bomb sniffing dog swept the area including a room where white house staffers work. during a search they also covered the robotic cameras operating live. after 30 minutes the scene was cleared, no bomb found and the briefing resumed.

>> were his family in any way impacted or evacuated? >> they were not. >> reporter: a separate bomb threat was phoned in earlier on capital hill. >> we're clearing the floor. if you could in orderly fashion please exit as quickly as possible. thank you. >> reporter: capitol hill police searched the room looking for anything suspicious. officers and dogs combed the hallway but nothing was found. were the two threated connect ed eds connected? the secret service is investigating. former house speaker dennis hastert accused of taking hush money to cover up long-ago sex abuse. >> reporter: after 12 days in seclusion, dennis hastert walked into a media frenzy in court, a

dramatic fall from grace. hastert, who has now vendsurrendered his passport. hastert agreed to pay an unnamed individual $3.5 million to conceal prior misconduct. and for about two years he made 15 $50,000 cash withdrawals. after hastert was alerted about that reporting requirement, prosecutors alleged he took out more cash but this time in increments less than $10,000 on at least 106 occasions, intentionally structuring those transactions to fly under the government's radar is illegal. >> you rarely see them prosecute a case on facts like these. but -- and i'm speculating here -- the fact that he lied to the fbi about the nature of the

transactions and their purpose could well have been a tipping point for prosecutors in deciding to bring both charges. >> reporter: he's hired high power washington attorney thomas green who's represented others in national scandals from watergate to iran contra. the misconduct was sexual in nature with a male student at the illinois high school where he taught for 16 years. the identity of individual a remains a mystery, baffling many of hastert's former students. you don't believe it? >> not at all. i never had any problems with him at all. >> reporter: the man who was once second in line to the presidency is out on 4500$4500 bail. nude photos of celebrities

two men in two cars first getting out and exchanging words. then things escalate. one man nearly hit by a van. and a few seconds later the guy jumps in the car. he speeds off before others could jump in. so far no charges on this case. in florida an amazing rescue. a tv news crew caught it a car on fire after the driver lost control and hit some trees. the state trooper jumped into action punched out the passenger window and got the driver out. it turned out the man shouldn't have been driving. he had numerous arrests for driving on a suspended or revoked license. >> there's a reason. you're not a very good driver. you should probably stop driving. >> the driver suffered serious injuries. the trooper suffered cuts. good morning, landon. >> good morning. airlines are announcing through
