notice oh wow, it's nearly muggy outside. it's in the mid-60s starting out the day. we have the fog and clouds across parts of the bay and today's high 74 degrees in the east bay. san francisco, 70 degrees in the north bay. still warm. 83 degrees coming down from those 90s yesterday and 86 degrees in the south bay. a little bit sticky out there. 74 in the east bay. the trivalley still reaching into the 90s this afternoon. with the humid conditions we may have a couple of pop up storms especially for the south bay. maybe just some lightning. i'll detail that and what to expect this weekend is coming up in the full micro climate forecast. >> you make it sound fun. pop up storm here and there. watch for that. over here, looking at traffic. not quiet popped up yet. having a typical flow overnight. 580 with the leheadlights comin in towards the dublin change. we'll look at the map.

yesterday we had a lot of construction and delays. so so so far, this morning everything picking up. your freeways are moving smoothly. we'll talk about activity in the east and south bay. also, the barging closure over the weekend. that's coming up. >> it started raining fire, we had to get out of there. >> a frantic fight after destroying part of a community. now eight homes are gone. firefighters have no idea what caused the fast moving fire in sacramento county. we can tell you it started out as a road side fire northeast. it quickly spread to this mobile home park. strong winds and hot temperatures fuelled the flames. the fire destroyed eight mobile homes. several families saw their valuables and everything go up in smoke. >> we had a lot of antiques and valuables and it's gone.

>> my sister's house is gone. i'm glad my sister-in-law's house is okay, my house is okay, the business. >> despite the destruction, some people are already talking about rebuilding there. we are going to stay on top of this story throughout the morning for you. today stephanie gives us a live report coming up in the next half hour. >> in the meantime, we're also following this massive wild fire growing in lake county. overnight, the rocky fire grew to more than 13,000 acres. that fire started wednesday east of lower lake near rocky creek road about 50 miles north of santa rosa in an area difficult for crews to access. right now, the fire is only 5% contained and so far destroyed at least three structures. there are understamandatory eva for three people. for more coverage head to nbcbayarea.com or download our

app where we are constantly updating. >> we also have new details in the death of a man. police say the men got into a fight with two female officers yesterday morning after he raea ended a car and walked away from the scene. both officers were injured and went to the hospital. several others hand cuffed the man. he suffered some sort of medical emergency and stopped breathing. >> it appears that the officers used a reasonable amount of force and was able to get them hand cuffed and stopped. >> police called paramedics and performed cpr but that man died. police say after the incident they learned that he was wanted in the beating of a 97-year-old elderly man. the man expected life threatening injuries.

>> we are learning more about the 16-year-old boy akuccused o murdering 8-year-old maddie. one of his former classmates was in the courtroom yesterday. he heard the charges against him. he said he was talking to him and knew something wasn't quiet right. we are protecting her identity. >> he did threaten suicide a couple of times. >> he's accused of luring 8-yea 8-yea 8-yea8-yea 8--year-old maddie to his apartment and killed her there and dumped her body in a recycling ben. >> another kidnapped girl was

captured. now they're suing for $20 million. police found the home burned down with the girl's mother and brother inside. the suspect was 40-year-old james. after they found the two in the idaho wilderness and shot and killed him. now his family plans to sue the agency. they say he never got a chance for a fair trial before he was killed. >> 4:36. a new development in the mass case. a tentative ruling could cost the family millions of dollars. that's instead of millions if she was considered alive. her family accused the hospital of ignoring their calls for a

get in the city this weekend, you're going to have to come up with plan b starting at the end of service tonight they will be shutting down the bay. this means no service between the west and station in the city. this will last all day tomorrow and sunday with regular service resuming monday in time for a commute. if you're trying to get in the city this weekend you have the option of the bay bridge. keep in mind everyone else might have the same idea. it could be a real traffic headache. here's another one. bart will be between 19th street and oakland. as the name lifeline suggest this is not intended for everyone, just for people who really need i. it won't cost extra for bart passengers.

they are warning the bus bridge could take an extra one to two hours in the regular train wood. they will also be offering shuttle service again where you can pick up the lifeline service. now, this is so extensive that bart is now shutting down this weekend and same thing labor day weekend. reporting live here, bob today in the bay. >> thank you very much, bob. let's turn for a look at traffic as its shaping upright now. >> there you go. we'll also talk about your alternates as well. >> the bridge easy. all day long bart operating it. it's saturday that it will be much more crowded for the bay bridge. because the bay bridge will be over the water route. the two will be close and a lot more drivers there. you can use the bus bridge.

that is a lifeline connector. you can have other alternates like the ferry system. they will be adding additional service all weekend to help get over from oakland and into and out of san francisco. great alternate. you can do the zip cars. try those. you can check that out. meanwhile, looking toward freemont where they make cars. tesla right here. there's a big festival. what do you see for the weekend? >> it will be great weather for the weekend. a look at san francisco and the low clouds. we'll see that for part of the day and the temperatures fairly mild right now. 65 degrees and when we normally start in the upper 50s. right now 61 degrees and it will be a warm one once again.

manufacturing. the dow flipping five points to 17,745. just barely in the red while the nasdaq rose 17-5128. facebook has built its first large scale drone and we are talking large. this is going to help deliver internet access to remote parts of the world. this thing has a wingspan of a boeing 737 and hover between 60 and 87,000 feet to avoid issues with bad weather. the drone will use lasers to get to the ground and facebook will test it later in the year. google glass is back but this time all business. reports say the accompany has a wearable version. it debuts in 2013.

rainfall expected and some of that moisture searching in, we feel it in the air with the clouds also increasing but as you head out for a weekend road trip, keep in mind for the sierra as well as southern california there may be some pop up showers and thunderstorms. but here, the humidity starts to come back down in time for the weekend and for the freemont festival arts in the mid-70s and a lot of sunshine. also the county fair kicks off starting yesterday. this will be the first weekend and it will be in the mid-80s and a lot of sunshine. overall, expect highs in the 70s and 80s and a few 90s in the trivalley. we'll be hot but at least we won't have to deal with uncomfortable humidity as we go into the next few days. sam and chris. >> also a fire danger too. thank you very much. >> the forecast is good for
