take a live look outside [adlib] san josvky/2shot i'm cky nguyen...along good sunday morning to you. the time is 6:26. we want to start you off with a live look outside at san jose where there's a little gray in the sky there. i am vicky nguyen aside anthony slaughter who has a check of the micro cast forecast. cloudy all over the bay? >> yes, cloud cover is with us the first half of the day. this is a shot from tib you are on. the golden gate bridge is shroud shrouded in fog. it is extensive across the area. temperatures in the low to mid-60s. later today, a similar day to what we saw yesterday, but not as humid.

low 80s for inland valleys and around the inner bay. we will see temperatures in the low to mid 70s. very comfortable, not as much humidity. cloud cover will burn out quickly, we will have sunshine and it will feel nice. temperatures stay this way through the upcoming week. there will be rain and we have a hurricane headed towards hawaii. we will talk about that at 7:00. >> looking forward to it. thank you. happening now, it will be another slow trip across the bay today. that's because barge is not running from oakland to san francisco. j-2 of the transbay tube closure begins today as they work on the track. traffic above ground traffic is moving well. closure means b.a.r.t. riders have to find another way. overall, b.a.r.t. ridership was down by half as the tube was closed for work on the aging crossover track system. the san francisco bay ferry

extended service was up 24%. they used the ferry between oakland, alameda and san francisco. another transbay closure is expected over labor day weekend. new details on the three alarm house fire that ignited in east san jose foothills that left a family homeless. a mother father and their four young children escaped with only what they were wearing after flames erupted from their 7,000 square foot home. you can see flames bursting through the roof there. this happened yesterday at 3:00 in the morning. the family is currently staying at another home. a neighbor is using social immediatemedia to get the word out they need help. ten people have stepped up with donations of blankets towels and toys. police are searching for a parolee identified as a suspect in downtown concord. they're looking for this man. he is a suspect in a robbery and

meredith. meredith arrested charged with public endangerment for downing the drone with a shotgun. meredith claims nobody was in danger when he did it. the drone was hovering just over his 6 foot fence. the camera allegedlied aimed at his duodaughters in the backyard. >> we don't know if files. >> the pilot said if that were the case by all means shoot it down. >> if somebody was flying in my backyard playing peekaboo around a canape i would shoot it down too. the problem with willie is he's not telling the truth. >> reporter: this recording of the flight path proves that he was flying above 200 feet but neighbor willie said there was more than one flight that day. >> it's an invasion of privacy. we were in our backyard. had he never stopped over my house we wouldn't have this

conversation. >> reporter: a feud over a drone in kentucky. isn't this sort of how that other feud in this part of the country started? you know, the hatfield and mccoys? quite the sight to behold here in new york city. check this out. incredible images of wild animals put up on the empire state building last night. francis rivera is here. new york city skyline is stunning already. even more so with these images. it was done by a couple of film makers who are trying to make a difference in the world helping to raise awareness of endangered animals. for years the empire state building here in new york has helped honor certain occasions and holidays by lightening up with various themed colors. from the fourth of july's red and blue to the red and green of christmas. even the colors of the rainbow for gay pride week. but last night, the landmark building was showing these

images to draw attention to the mass extext. from a snow leopard to a bald eagle. the exhibit the first of the kind using moving images on the building was created by film makers travis and luis. >> i think we're trying to start something here. thinking about what we can do with the world and our lives and the cities. >> we're about to lose half the species on the planet potentially by the end of the century. it's the biggest issue on the planet. >> the images which appeared on 33 floords were displayed using 40 projectors on the roof on the nearby party. one was a giant ape appearing to climb the 71st floor. reminiscent with another primate. another special moment of the night this image of cecil the lion who was killed last month in zimbabwe with a cross bow.

a story tragic example of why this project was conceived in the first place. it was one of the coolest things to see. one of the film makers also directed "racingeingeing extinction." you can find that on the discovery channel this december. think of all the things cool in new york city and for these three hours they were projecting the images. it makes you wonder what else they'll do. >> yeah. >> thank you. good to see you. here is a look at the morning's headlines now. hundreds are being evacuated as the fast moving wild fire in northern california continue to burn out of control. at least two dozen homes have been destroyed already. all out manhunt underway in memphis for a person who shot a police officer last night. 33-year-old sean bolton was killed during a traffic stop.

flash fundraiser online. identify a need figure out how much it costs to fill the void raise the money, give it directly to the cause and do it all in just 24 hours. it's a brain child of a young woman determined to make a difference. for eight years this detroit street corner has hosted a weekly barbecue for the homeless an all volunteer pot luck every saturday rain or shine. sometimes serving as many as 200 people. >> what does it mean to the community? >> burgers are a means to an end. the whole goal is to build relationships. social entrepreneur malory brown was first introduced five years ago. on tuesday she introduced it to the world. >> that's why they are feeding the homeless. it's really a place where we come together to share a meal. >> it can all end tomorrow. the barbecue is losing its home.

>> reporter: recent zoning changes meant the barbecue needed to move. malory set a goal of raising $10,000. she wanted to do it in just 24 hours. >> please donate. >> reporter: it happened in a little more than two. >> we hit 10 k. >> reporter: as quickly as the money is raised it is put into action. >> i was like -- >> successfully launched in january. her flash fundraising helped secure a new home for a family in haiti. outfit a community center in mexico with educational supplies. and in the wake of this year's devastating earthquake meet
