6:01 am
>> reporter: well, the little information that's trickling out at this point, but homicide investigators have been here at the scene for the last five hours or so is. they say someone heard gunshots just before 1:00 a.m. this morning and they called 911. that's when officers were dispatched here to the scene here on the 1800 block of lundy avenue. they found a body on the first floor of this industrial complex. that victim was in fact transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. police say he was shot in the ground -- on the ground floor of the building. there are several different businesses inside of that three-story building. there are surveillance cameras around the perimeter of the complex and investigators say that will be key -- a key point in solving this murder. at this point police don't know if the victim is a work or what his relationship is to the building, but they are actively looking for the shooter or shooters. >> initially we were told there might be three suspects, but again, we're still interviewing witnesses and trying to determine what information we can get from them.
6:02 am
>> reporter: there are several people coming into work today in the surrounding buildings who are shocked by the news, but they didn't want to appear on camera and share their thoughts on what they thought of this homicide that occurred next door here on the north end of lundy avenue just two blocks north of the main post office. we're live in san jose is, i'm damian trujillo, "today in the bay." thank you. 6:02. outrage in oakland, protesters shut down a freeway after oakland police shot and killed a suspected car jacker. protesters blocked traffic on 880 at about 27th and martin luther king jr. way last night. earlier in the day officers shot and killed a 24-year-old man at that spot. now, it started when an officer tried to stop a car that was involved in a july armed robbery. the driver took off and collided with a car on 27th. a police department helicopter pilot then spotted the man attempting an armed carjacking. when that didn't work the is suspect ran. three officers confronted him ordering him to to drop his gun.
