♪ it's friday, september 11th, coming up on "early today," fear in arizona as a sniper strikes again. police confirm the 11th shooting hits motor vehicles over a two-week period. the race for the white house heats up as they get down right personal. and america pauses 14 years after 9/11 to take stock of where we are and what happened on that fateful day. weeks with several more under investigation right now. police say drivers have been lucky so far. there's only been a single injury as a result but now raising a new concern. he says there may be more than one shooter. law enforcement is on alert. >> looking for pedestrians, maybe walking down the side of the road. >> everyone one of these incidents is lethal. these are all potentially a homicide waiting to happen. >> this morning police are monitoring over 200 freeway cameras throughout the phoenix metro area hoping for a clue. want to turn now to politics. donald trump continues to face heat after making a comment about fiorina. he said quote look at that face. would anyone vote for that? he faced back lash for that remark last night on fox news. >> i don't think you're a first time offender making a personal crack at a woman.

the union. they say 1 in 22 people on the planet are refugees, seeking asylum and put that together, they'd be the 24th largest country in the world. syria alone has produced 4 million refugees since their war began. at least 15 wild fires are burning across california this morning fuelled by triple digit temperatures. the so-called butte fire has grown to nearly 15,000 acres and only 10% contained. at least six homes destroyed, hundreds ordered to evacuate. the fire is threatening an ancient grove of giant sequoia trees known as national treasures. and a fire near fresno has caused mandatory evacuations. it's only 29% contained. in japan, look at this, floods from a tropical storm have crews desperately searching for 22 missing people.
