>> do you want them to ask bigger questions about journalism and political coverage and things? >> that would be my hope. i would hope that whatever the film does, it would raise a question that has people pay more attention to journalism. and the value of journalism. i think it's so important. i always have. i look at the work i've done. value of journalism and how journalism sometimes, when politics and politics gets to truth that, is tricky. journalism is so key, so important for our knowledge and our well-being. so i'm big on journalism and keeping it alive. >> was it awkward or difficult to play such an iconic figure, dan rather is known to so many people in this country. >> it is tricky. it is tricky because i had the difficult task of playing somebody that everybody was familiar with. they saw him nightly. they didn't see me nightly. so, therefore, had this thing happened maybe in 2013, i

husbands have to s you recognize that your woman's career, perhaps, is more the money maker and you have to be able to them llowd to pursue their endeavors. they're more equal as co-parents. he m interesting observations in the article. he says that, you kno that women have also need the same support that men have had all along the same way that -- and also that -- i'm trying to find where he wrote. he says, sometimes at cocktail parties or dinner parties, it's interesting. he writes the very idea of men as lead parents still makes many people uncomfortable at a deep and often subconscious level. nothing quiets the dinner party conversation more quickly than a chance mention of the fact that my wife outearns me. so whileknow, as a society, i think we said we should all be co-parents, equal co-parents. there is still unfo theately judgment that people seem to make. >> we got better.

taking a look at the headlines. relief ahead for southwest airlines' passengers. the company says it has fixed the systemwide computer problems that caused massive delays on sunday for people trying to check in. however, the company says it still needs to get luggage delivered and to find seats for delayed or displaced travelers, and it still recommends that customers check in online, print the boarding passes at home before then arriving at the airport. getting nursing home patients high dose flu shots can significantly reduce the number who have to be hospitalized for life threatening illnesses such as pneumonia, heart failure and stroke. high dose shots are four times as strong as standard shots. in the largest study of its kind, hospitalizations were reduced by more than 1% with 1.5 million americans in nursing

ended up being the greatest possible preparation for this able because i was to become a mother and then portray a mother in a really honest way. so it's a blessing. >> and luke, what about you? what was it that drew you to the film? it is so hard. it's a difficult subject matter. >> yeah. i mean i just always kind of been interested in stories like that and to me, you know, it's like one of the small clips you might read in the newspaper or see on the news. and it's really the back story of what happens to such a kind of personal tragedy. you wonder what happens to the people a year or two down the road that are still there and how they deal with it. >> and how differently people deal with it. i mean this is a story that picks up a year after this happened. and you're following how these two parents are dealing with it and totally different ways. so it's intense. >> and it's so true. we all do news and we see the headlines and we cover these stories. and then a year later when you talk to families, they say, you know, the cameras are gone. the investigation -- we're just left to deal with each other and the pain. >> exactly.

exactly. i mean we had a really incredible director who decided to tell the story in a really interesting unique way, visually it's really stunning. so although very heavy subject matter, it's a really thrilling movie to watch. she is such an exciting new film making voice. we felt really lucky to work for her. that's why i love watching the film. >> at the risk of littoning things up a little bit here. you did an interview with conan where yo referenced sort of falling in love with your co-stars. >> let's not get awkward. but -- >> let's get real. >> i was just telling her husband jason today, because last i of course started the movie, what's this -- it can't be that guy. and then my brother owen had done a movie with and i was like what's the story with this "today" show cast?
