8-percent. =sam/cu= u-c merced is closed this morning - as police continue to investigate a stabbing attack that injured four people and led police to shoot and kill a student on campus. =take vo= one of those stabbing victims is now being called a hero. "byron price" says he thought he was rushing in to break up a fight. instead he was confronted by a man stabbing a student in a classroom. the suspect was shot and killed by campus police. the sheriff'separent is not revealing a motive for the

rampage. all four stabbing victims are expected to survive. classes are expected to resume on friday. =laura/cu= we have some new details on a gruesome crash that injured two 12-year-old boys in san francisco. a woman drove slammed into them in a marina crosswalk - as they were walking to school. the driver is facing dui charges. =vo= police say she apparently didn't see the children because a delivery truck was stopped at the crosswalk to let them pass. it happened at bay and buchanan streets around 8-30 yesterday morning. the kids were walking to marina middle school. they suffered serious injuries, but are expected to survive. police identify the driver as 30 year old kirsten andereck. she stopped at the scene, and is said to be cooperating with the investigation. neighbors were horrified. =sot= 14:00 we came just after accident and of course it made me cry so it was pretty sad. =laura/vo= several neighbors say the crosswalk has long been a dangerous crossing. the city says improvements were already in the works, including reducing number of lanes and installing speed bumps.

parents set sail to celebrate their anniversary and her mom died leaving the entire family in shock and soon after she discovered her late mother's credit card had been maxed out because of $6,000 worth of medical charges from royal caribbean. the cruise line initially refused to wait on insurance to pay, a practice that is actually common among cruise lines. travel experts recommend that travelers check with their own insurance companies to see if they're covered while traveling out of the country. you may also want to consider purchasing a separate or from an outside company so you're covered while overseas. the cruiseline decided to reverse all the medical charges about four months to call them to complain on how they handled the situation.

exactly your typical bay area morning because we're not seeing a lot of clouds so far, what we are seeing, temperatures in the 30s. >> getting into that time of year where you start out with a clear sky. a little bit of some patchy frost. we'll check in with mike to see if that could slow you down or if you should slow down anyway. let's take a look outside right now in san jose. we see mostly clear start and it is cool. it feels like fall. cranking up the heater, once again, grabbing a jacket before you head out and as we go into the day, all those clear skies will allow our temperatures to warm up slowly. it won't be as windy as yesterday, but a look at all the microclimates now because the winds have subsided. our temperatures have dropped down a few more degrees over yesterday morning and a closer look at the south bay now. morgan hill 41 degrees. in downtown san jose, it's 40 degrees. in the north bay, down to 48 degrees while san francisco is at 48. a look at the microclimates and

the hour-by-hour forecast in san francisco. we'll be at 50 degrees and then slowly seeing them climb into the low 60s today and mostly sunny skies. getting ready for another chance of rain, a few more days to dry out. heading into the weekend, we'll watch this front rolling in from the west and by sunday, we could start to see the showers moving into the bay area. actually the north bay early in the morning and then into the start of the day on monday. this could also bring in more snow for the sierra and look at one of the computer models of what it is forecasting. up to five inches of snow for south lake tahoe and the outer edges in some of the lower elevations you're seeing an inch or two. the seven-day forecast for the coast, expect highs today around 61 degrees and then staying in up thor 50s. that chance of rain sunday and monday and heading bay side our temperatures will be in the 60s for the next several days and a little bit cooler heading into

the weekend and early next week. inland temperatures will be in the 70s turning cooler by sunday and monday. no warm up in this seven-day forecast. we'll get another look coming up in a few minutes. but let's check in now with mike with a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. >> we'll start over here where we're looking at still the lanes over to the left approach out of the backup and one of the cash lanes is still not open and the rest are moving and an easy drive right here. the north bay, as well, though, with no slowing, no problems here. limit through san rafael. as we show you the entire map of that area, we'll mention as kari talked about, down to 38 degrees right now and dip a little more for those temperatures and watch for any reports of frost and maybe slippery conditions and we'll let you know if that does occur. so far no problems. a fender bender right around the maze and waiting for more details. we didn't see any problems on the live shot. dumbarton bridge is just fine and slowing out of the altamont and highway 84.

watching videos from their smartphones and tablets. facebook now gets more than 75% of ad revenue from mobile devices. and the friendly skies are going to be crowded this thanksgiving. an airline industry group says u.s. carriers are expected to fly 25.3 million passengers over the holiday weekend. that's up 3% from last year. airlines are adding flights to meet demand and the group also says the top ten u.s. airlines earned a collected $18 billion in the first nine months of this year thanks to drops in fuel costs. a busy thanksgiving, guys. make sure you get there early. >> make sure you buy a lot of pie. >> or serve it to some of your fellow passengers so they're a little less ornery. the voters have spoken after san francisco voters rejected prop f, the measure that lost by a fairly narrow vote of 55% to 45%. would have limited short-term rentals to just 75 days a year instead of 90.

north bay, no delays. let me given you the cliff notes, no real problems. want tashow problems little blips here and there. and we see sudden slowing and watching for crashes up there so far no reports of any problems. same thing for oakland at the bottom of your screen. let's move down. anywhere south of the bay bridge looks really nice, as well. except for over here in the tri-valley. west 580 out of the altamont pass. highway 84 with your typical construction right around vineyard and we have that from time to time about once a month and that's what we see right w now. it may have some folks starting to move and a look at the b.a.r.t. station reminds us of a minor delay. that's recovering just a couple minutes delay, guys. there's the dublin grade, back to you. >> pretty long view there, thanks, mike. a sacramento area man waking up in jail this morning accused of attacking an american hero

outside of a sacramento bar. that hero spencer stone, you might remember, helped stop a terror attack on paris-bound train. james tran was arrest eed near s home yesterday. you'll remember that video of several men kind of circulating around stone. he is expected in court on friday to face attempted murder charges. police describe him as gang aff affiliated. he has a felony record. investigators do not believe that attack had anything to do with stone's roll in taking down an armed man aboard a paris train back in august. this morning, things are moving at the san diego airport after a gunman managed to bring all flights to a halt for hours yesterday. it all started when a domestic violent suspect. the faa blocked all arrivals at the airport.

sam brock. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. it is another cold start to our morning. check in with meteorologist kari hall. i got the long sleeves, you have the short sleeves. you are tough. >> you have to because it is very chilly out there. and our temperatures are in the 30s in the north bay, but we've got some 40s for the rest of the bay area, but a few spots may be dealing with some patchy frost. after that, we'll warm up into the upper 60s and a few spots hitting 70 degrees like the north bay and lighter wind than we had yesterday. so, i'll detail that and what to expect this weekend with another chance of rain. that's coming up in a few minutes. but also looking at the bay bridge, mike. >> i don't want to get anybody in trouble, but looks like one or two tol tickers are a couple minutes away. one here on each side of the fastrak lanes. we'll track this as it changes. meanwhile, we'll look at the rest of your bay and haven't seen much change to the flow
