mission and northbound, 680 approaching mission north. that's where we do have a fender bender reported and a fender bender reporting a larger truck. that might be a distraction on the shoulder from what i understand. no slowing countercommute. we're looking at the rest of the south bay and smooth drive northbound 101 and 87 shows the typical pat frrn the slow down and not so bad right now. this will really kick in over the next 45 minutes in the south bay, itself. meanwhile approaching the bridge a little dip in the speeds and the bay bridge metering lights are on and theest drive right now is 580 off of 24 approaching the toll mrauza and the maze. back to you. >> mike, thank you. mentioned breaking news at the beginning of our show. this coming from abroad. 90 minutes ago, french authorities announced the suspected mastermind behind the deadly terror ataction in paris is dead. he was killed in yesterday's raid of a paris apartment building. >> sanchez has been tracking the breaking details for us. kris, we know the suspect was identified. they had to use skin samples.
6:01 am
>> it appears he was sought to death. his body riddled by bullets and that he was not killed by the suicide vest detonated by his cousin. the woman that he was with in that apartment. now, abdelhamid abaaoubd's body was removed from that apartment was not publicly identified until this morning. as of two hours a, french forensic teams were still on the scene of that apartment where police fired more than 5,000 shots. now, we have new imnls this morning from inside one of those paris cafes shot at by those terrorists. and in this video obtained by dailymail.com, you can see flying glass andal scrambling for cover. now, between videos like this one and this new propaganda video, new york city is now on edge. the video shows times square as well as restaurants and taxi cabs and people on the streets with images cut from the paris attacks and also terrorists with

guns and suicide belts. but new york city leaders say that this is propaganda thrown together at the last minute released to take advantage of people's raw nerves. >> there is no credible and specific threat against new york city. >> new york, obviously, remains one of the top terrorist targets in the world. that video, our review of it, it looks like it has been hastily produced. it is a mismash of previously released video. >> new developments on the political front, as well. just this morning, announced a $427 million anti-terror plan in response to the paris attacks. several of the attack had ties to belgium. despite the confirmed killing of the planner of the paris attacks, the french government must not believe that this threat is completely neutralized because as of just moments ago, the lower house of the french national assembly voted to extend the state of emergency for another three months and that is a move that expands

"today in the bay" stephanie chuang joining us live from the scene. the coast guard was contacted about 10:00 last night, well after it was dark. >> and that's a big problem, of course. the darkness has handicapped the search efforts, which began at 10:00 last night. we know that the missing jet skier is a woman in her 50s and that search and rescue crews have been focused around morris landing here near the napa county airport. overnight we know the search efforts were well under way with crews using a spotlight by boat scouring the waters for any sign of this missing woman after the coast guard found the jet ski she had been riding, but not the woman herself. now, napa county sheriff deputies canvas stretches with flashlights looking by the
6:05 am
shoreline and a helicopter assisting at one point. the woman was on a jet ski yesterday but it is unclear how long she had been missing. one report was that she was missing for a little while already. there are a couple different boat launches around here. this is the area where crews have focused the search. the search scaled back greatly. we understand that a sheriff's boat may still be out here on the water, though we haven't seen any activity so far. we do know the coast guard says it will resume as soon as it is light out, but we know that sunrise doesn't happen here until 7:00 in the morning and hopefully have more updates by then. stephanie chuang, "today in the bay." 6:05 right now. new details to share with you this morning. a stretch of highway 37 back open after a big rig crash shut it down for more than eight hours. one person was killed after the collision involving two big rigs and several cars. happened about 3:30 yesterday afternoon on highway 37. look at the debris just

6:17 am
the fat cats are losing money and the stock hasn't even started trading yet. so, square is going to solve this through something called a ratchet. a strange word that basically means the company is going to make good and pay the investors what they lost in more stock. that, in turn, will make the stock you buy worth less. so, just when you thought the square deal not a square deal, it got even less. now, the other worry, it's a worry i talked about often is that the founder and ceo of square, jack dorsy, is also the founder and ceo of twitter and he's going to do both. meaning square by definition will have a part-time ceo no matter how hard jack works. square will start trading on the new york stock exchange this morning. in fact, jack dorsy will be there ringing that opening bell. trading under the symbol sq. of course, we will bring it to you as it happens. sam and laura. >> we'll look forward to that. curious to see where it is going to go. this year's push outdoors,

you can do that any day, though, especially the day with these temperatures that have been so nice and comfortable during the afternoons. but if you head out early in the morning, yeah, it's cold. you need to bundle up. but, hey, this is what we expect this time of year, right? as we take a live look now at san francisco. we do have mostly clear skies there, but also some spots with some low clouds and some fog. so, watch out for that as you drive to work or school this morning. and in oakland it's 47 degrees and santa rosa 41 and san francisco 49 degrees. but let's take it hour by hour. in oakland 54 degrees at 8:00. a few clouds there. but look at what happens at 1:00. it clears out. it's 63 degrees and lunchtime, 65 degrees. enjoying at jack london square out in the grass. now, we see that sunshine and the temperatures warming up to the upper 60s. high pressure is just off to the west. that means clear skies and very quiet weather. but there is also a cold front and some rain and snow just to the north of us.

and that will continue to roll off to the east staying away from the bay area. so, the storm track keeps it dry here. although we've seen a lot of rain even some flooding up around washington. for us, we have more of this dry weather heading into the next few days. temperatures feeling very nice in the upper 60s to lower 70s and, once again, no chances of rain. so when will we see the rain? it looks like it holds off until early next week. the models show a lot of green rolling in and this is what the radar could look like and it moves all across the bay area by tuesday morning. and wednesday, as well. then it rolls over to the sierra. looks like it could be dumping some heavy snow. so, that could affect your travel plans and not only here in the bay area, but also across the region. so, we will keep you up to date on that. and now let's check in with mike to see the traffic is moving. >> kari, we'll check in on that stretch of 880 southbound out of san leandro. extra slow drive approaching

>> yeah, good morning to you, good morning, san francisco. the real concern this morning is about that alleged photograph that isis put out showing what they say was a bomb that brought down the metro jetliner over the sinai on halloween. it is awfully small. what you see in that photograph is a can and also see a detonator and our experts say looks legitimate, as well as a switch maybe connected to a battery. the idea would be that the can would have been packed with plastic explosives. we've seen this before. we've seen ptn and a variety of different types of plastic exmroe explosives used to inflict damage on the battlefield, but also brought down pan m 103. the question is this. has isis perfected that bomb technology and able to bring down an airbus. if so, what does that mean for airports across the country and, in fact, worldwide. very much what the security experts are talking about right now and the real threat is the potential for an insider threat.
6:47 am
in other words, someone who already works at the airline or the airport who is trusted and then becomes radicalized by isis but has access to an airport. what's most concerned to most security experts is that there are very few airports around the country, i mean, fewer than five, that actually require every airport worker to be screened, everial day. it's an awful lot for the security community to be concerned about this morning. guys, back to you. >> maybe something that the government has to look into. you can watch tom's full report on "today" show started in just about 15 minutes. meantime, a san francisco woman is venting her frustration on social media after facebook suspended her account because of her name. she explained in a series of tweets that her personal facebook account had been suspended. you may recognize her as she did appear with scott mcgrew a couple months ago. she says that facethinks i'm a terrorist, apparently sending a
