possibly snow from the system? >> it's likely we'll see both. and some rain is moving into the bay area now. if you have an early start, you are lucky. you're hitting the road before all of that moves into the bay area later on this morning. we are starting to see the clouds moving in. in some spots we still see the peeks of the moon coming occupy. looking at only mid 50s all the across the bay area as that rain moves in. it will be windy, we're expecting sierra snow, king tides, and i'll detail all of that coming up. kari, all the stuff you talked about going on today, we're hoping for lighter traffic flow it is. it is a vacation week for many, but the volume is pretty standard at this time of the morning. there's a crash up in the north way, a car went off the roadway.

this is palo alto, an easy, light drive here as well as the rest of the bay. back to you. we do have some breaking news from the south bay. a search is under way in campbell for two people after a chase with deputies. this is a live look at the scene. it unfolded earlier this morning, and right now we know deputies are setting up a perimeter along an elementary school as this continues. we'll bring you any developments. russian pilots who ejected from a war plane like this one is now in the hands of rebels in that region. let's get to the video. you can clearly see something going terribly wrong. it's a stream of smoke and sfm flames. it then drashs into what is the turkmen mountain regions near the coast. you can see how close it is to the border with syria where russia started air strikes against opponents emof bashar al assad. the commander of the rebel group that calls itself the 10th brigade told associated that the two russian crew members tried to land in government-controlled area of turkey, but instead felt into rebel fire as he felt. they say that one pilot was shot and dead upon landing. it's not clear what if after

we have some gusty winds in the forecast, so let's get to it. you can see the moon and the clouds starting to roll in from the north bay, so looking very nice. you have an advantage. we'll have to deal with some heavy rain, and then it does start to dry up as we head into the afternoon. so for today road trick lining pretty good, and then later on this afternoon we will have very chilly temperatures, and then you'll -- we're watching the rain as it continues to move in. we see some right reds in there indicating -- we'll start to see this moving this by 8:00, 9:00, and then it gets heavier and moving all across the bay area,

leaving us with a pretty good soaking. once again this afternoon we'll be dry, we'll get some clearing and the next round of rain moving in early tomorrow morning. highs today only in the mid 50s, and for the north bay 56 degrees in napa, oakland 57. not a wide range in these temperatures. we're all in the mid 50s. if you will be driving into the sierra or driving even through, you'll have to deal with the snowe that begins later today and continues into early tomorrow. winter storm warnings are now in effect. that continues until 4:00 wednesday morning. we'll also have anywhere from 4 to 12 inches lake level and for the bay area, we're looking at about a quarter of an inch of rain, but there mae by spots getting about a half inch of rain between today and early tomorrow, then we'll see things getting chilly out there.
