the bataclan theater, the sight from the worst carnage from the paris attacks, where 130 people lost their lives. he placed one white flower at the memorial site. at his side, president francois hollande. as you mentioned today, in the outskirts of paris, the massive u.n. climate change conferenceu. tens of thousands of visitors are expected. the goal to get 195 countries to agree on a deal to curb carbon emissions and reduce global warming. president obama met with china's president and issued a joint statement, saying both countries hope to work together to help stop climate change. world leaders agree, it needs to be done. the question is how to do it. right now, there are major disappointments remaining

between developing countries and developed countries. just before the conference even started, yesterday here in paris, there were, at times, violent clashes between demonstrators and police. the demonstrations started in the morning peacefully. when climate change activists laid shoes at the plaza derepubliq derepublique. a few hours into it, demonstrators clashed with police. in the end, there were more than 300 arrests and others are having their identitied checked by authorities. there have been tens of thousands of troops deployed throughout paris following the terror attacks. 3,000 troops and police officers are guarding the site of this climate conference, which is expected to last 12 days. back to you. >> gabe, thank you. the university of chicago has cancelled classes today following a threat to the campus. the decision was made after fbi

counterterror officials alerted the school about an anonymous online threat of gun violence on the campus monday morning. the threat was, quote, specific in terms of time and place. people are asked to stay away from the hyde park campus. students in campus housing are told to stay inside. one student told the chicago tribune the quad is normally busy on monday mornings and that student plans to stay away for a few days because of the seriousness of the situation. the university of chicago medical center will remain open with added security. the fbi is investigating. the man accused of killing three people and injuring nine during a standoff at a colorado planned parenthood facility is due in court today. a law enforcement source says robert dear rambled about president obama, politics and aborti abortion, saying no more baby parts. the 57-year-old lives in a trailer 65 miles from the crime scene. before that, he lived in a shack in north carolina with no water, electricity or sewer system.

reports say he once warned a neighbor to put a metal roof on his home so the government couldn't spy on him. we're also learning more about the victims. the latest to be identified is jennifer markovsky. her father wrote on facebook, i lost you in a senseless shooting. ke'arre stewart was a veteran. garrett swasey was a police officer and former trained ice skater who trained with nancy kerrigan. gop presidential candidates were largely making the same appeal, which is don't connect the shooting cam parampage at a pro-life situation. ted cruz said we don't know the accused shooter's motivation.
