named laura. i could change that into a $30 gift card at walmart. not even parody, but, still, better for my needs than the 50 bucks you guys gave me. >> it wasn't build a bear, it was vermont teddy bear. >> little classier. >> you need something to cuddle and stay warm, most certainly. it's actually been very difficult for hundreds of people this thanksgiving holiday. many homeless left out in the cold. today 13 daytime warming centers opened around santa clara county. they'll provide an a warm place. particularly helpful for families. santa clara county opened two overnight cold weather shelters because of this cold snap sticking around. >> continue to talk about this, mike made a joke about freezing in traffic, but it is actually freezing outside. >> that part of it is not the joke. >> sorry. >> the traffic, though, yeah, just because our camera froze which does happen, too.

>> blame it on the weather. maybe related, maybe not. >> you know, this is the coldest stretch we've seen since the first week of january. it has been a while since we had three to four days in a row that has been quite this cold and right now speaking of cold, san jose, about 36 degrees and currently 34 in campbell as we show you some of the colder temperatures we're seeing now in the south bay. how about cupertino, 31 grees and saratoga 33 and down in south san jose, 37 right now. look at the temperatures around woodside. 29 degrees and stanford 30 and 31 degrees and 32 in redwood city and now down to 27 degrees in walnut creek and 20s down 680 and danville down to dublin and into the north bay. this is the reason why you have the freeze warning up through about 9:00 this morning. low 30s in petaluma and wind off shore. that is a drying effect to the atmosphere. we need this to switch directions and come off the ocean and that will add to some of the thermal properties that the air can have. you add moreture and can't get quite as cold and we'll see that

later on tonight and during the day today. these clouds coming in and part of to weather system that is weakening as it reaches the bay area. could give us a few showers and all that cloud cover during the day will block a lot of the sunlight that has been helping to warm us up into the mid to upper 50s. today more clouds and same chilly start. 40s and low 50s for highs for i think for most places and mid-50s for san za and san francisco. near 50 in santa rosa and you could see pleasanton and livermore and highs in the low 50s. tuesday into wednesday. wind coming back in off the ocean out of the south should get us back into the highs in the mid-60s there. look at thursday, chance of rain coming back in. the most significant storm we'll see over the next seven days likely to have a big impact on your thursday with some wind and some rain and we could, we think of that thursday system pick up more than an inch of rain maybe north of santa rosa and something to look forward to to next thursday and in addition to temperatures warming up as we go through the week. not the case this morning.
