>> that's what's happening "today in the bay." >> happy cybermonday. here's a live look at san francisco. . good morning. breaking overnight. president obama lays a single white rose outside the paris theater where 89 people died in the terror attack. more than 150 world leaders in the city for a historic conference on climate change. environmental activist already crashing with police. the shooting suspect killed three people and injured nine others at a planned parent hood clinic in colorado facing a judge for the first time today. this morning we're learning more about the alleged gunman's life as relatives of the victims speak out.

make an unannounced stop at the scene. he also urged the chinese leader to do more in the fight against isis. >> kelly o'donald in paris. thank you. >> we're learning more about the alleged gunman behind friday's deadly shooting rampage at a planned parent hood clinic in colorado. we're learning more about his victims as well. in colorado springs for us. good morning. >> savannah, good morning. robert is being held here in the county jail on no bond. he'll face a federal judge from this facility. what could have been a possible motive.

>> he lived in deep isolation. robert's deltrailer in the midd of nowhere. even in the small town of hartselle few knew him. reportedly a college graduate deer had previously laifived in north carolina. neighbors say he rarely spoke to anyone and never been charged with a violent crime. >> he's coming out with the a.k. >> police say on friday he unloaded a steady relentless volume of unfire at a planned parent hood in colorado springs. the stand off lasted five hours. nine were injured and three killed. police officer, a former champion figure skater who trained with nancy kerigan leaves behind his wife and two small children. >> he was willing to do whatever

it took to lay down his wife. >> jennifer, a mother of two was at planned parent hood. stewart an iraq veteran and father of two young girls was at the clinic with his girl friend. she's pregnant with a child he will never meet. >> he took my only brother from me. that's the only brother he had and he took that away from me. it's hard but i forgive them. >> planned parent hood executives now believe they were targeted because they offer abortion services. security stepped up at some clinics after so much bloodshed. >> it's a tragedy. it's a world wide tragedy. >> detectives have not released a motive but law enforcement officials say he began to ramble about president obama, politics and abortion. also saying no more baby parts. the sitting will be procedural.

the d.a. will have 10 days to file charges. >> the shooting pushing the issues of planned parent hood and gun violence back in the forefront of the presidential race as republican front runner faces scrutiny over some of the controversial things he's been saying on the campaign trail. nbcs kristin welker has more on that. good morning. >> reporter: matt, good morning to you, that's right. the 2016 race is intensifying just as the debate is coming into sharper focus. while all the democratic candidates responded to the shooting condemning the violence and making it clear they stand by. many of the republican candidates waited until sunday to weigh in. the g.o.p. is more complicated. they chose their words carefully. g.o.p. candidates finally responded to the shootings at the planned parent hood facility in colorado springs. >> it's a tragedy. >> reporter: condemning the

weigh on the minds of the voters. they ban together to derail their campaign. hasn't happened so far. what are their options? the establishment is worried about christmas and other things. trump supporters rally harder around it. it's not about the establishment. it goes back to i can tell you who the nominee is going to be. it's going to be trump or the person who gets hot. even ted cruz, if that's the hot person, i think there will be a lot of rallying. >> let's talk about whose hot and not. chris christie got a big boost by getting the endorsement of the union new hampshire leader. this is a lifeline to his campaign. >> let's end this crazy cycle where donald trump is the front runner. let's stop talking about candidates being dead men walking. no dead men in this race.

the entire day and also usualed students who live in campus housing to stay indoors for the day. a public letter says based on the fbis assessment of this threat and resent tragic events at other campuses across the country. the university says a visible police presence will be on and around the campus today. the fbi is investigating the source of online posting and this morning law enforcement officials say concern is decreasing as agents get a better understanding of where this came from. threats are a challenge because they're hard to ignore etch though it's rare for such an act of violence to be proceeded by a threat. >> pete, thank you. >> out of virginia where a bus filled with college students headed back to school after the holiday break overturned. natalie following this story. good morning. >> good morning guys. nearly three dozen passengers suffered injuries.

francisco officer is out on bail thi a very good monday morning to you. 7:26. i'm laura garcia cannon. a law enforcement officer out on bail this morning. officer kris mer coarse went viral when videos and photos of him were posted online giving him the nickname the hot cop of the castro. but now police say he's responsible for a hit and run crash that left two people in serious conditions. coarse then left the scene and his car. he's check the forecast. it's a chilly start, robb. >> we still have a freeze warning up for the interior valle valleys. very interesting, 33 degrees in napa. a little further to the north with showers moving in. you can see the showers now on

let's take a look at some of the stories making head line. president obama is in paris attending a high-stakes conference on climate change with 150 other world leaders. the president saying all nations share a sense of responsibility to tackle this issue. upon his arrival in paris president obama visited the bataclan concert hall laying a white rows for the victims of the terror attacks there. >> the man accused of killing three people and shooting nine others inside a planned parenthood clinic in colorado is making his first court appearance. 57-year-old robert dear was arrested after a five hour standoff on friday and is being held now without bond. >> at least 35 people were injured, one seriously, when a charter bus overturned on a virginia highway last night. most of the passengers were college students returning to school after the thanksgiving break. police have charged the driver with reckless driving. another big story today, it's cyber monday and retailers are rolling out a new batch of

bargains hoping to get your business today. nbc's olivia sterns is at an amazon fulfillment center in rob bintsville, new jersey. a busy place. good morning to you. what can people expect. >> reporter: good morning to you. it looks like this year is actually a tipping point. for the first time ever americans actually spend more money online than they did in brick and mortar stores over the thanksgiving black friday holiday weekend. according to one survey consumers spent $10.4 billion in physical stores, a lot of money, but 10% less than they did last year. all of the growth was online, 4.5 billion spent on thursday and friday. that a 12% increase over last year. savannah, that's great news for retailers here this cyber monday. predicting $2.7 billion in sales alone today. that would be a 12% increase over last year. according to the national retail federation, 50% of americans do plan on doing some kind of shopping today, and that's one out of two of us. perhaps you or matt will
