meteorologist kari hall. >> we'll see this off and on throughout the day and mainly spotty light showers and a round of heavier rain moving in later on this morning and into the afternoon for the south bay. and a closer look now where in the east bay we do see the light showers moving in from livermore to san ramon and over towards oakland and today we'll see more of that with the soggy conditions and highs today that will be topping out in the upper 50s. and mid-50s for the north bay. i'll show you the rest of the week, which looks pretty wet up until christmas. details on that coming up. but let's see where you're slowing down now on the east bay with mike. >> for sure, kari. east shore freeway. look at this tail of tail lights from university all the way through powell and down the berkeley curve and heading down the bay bridge toll plaza where we lose sight because of low clouds there and mist and drizzle and slick conditions. let's look at your map. an issue on the bay. reports of a stalled vehicle at treasure island.

they got that off of the roadway and now recovery for that one section. the upper east shore also am had slowing from a couple spinouts and that mist, the drizzle and the light rain. that is an issue for folks because sometimes we're not as cautious when it's lighter rain. be out there, folks and be careful. lower the speeds even though the traffic is light right now throughout the bay. kari showed the rain coming down and south bay not an issue. spinouts and traction, that is a concern. back to you. >> mike, now we have breakings to tell you about out of the east bay. a shooting outside of a nightclub in san leandro injures four people. this happened just before 2:00 this morning at a popular night spot called club caliente. police don't have any information for us right now, but they are interviewing witnesses. not clear if there was some sort of fight inside the club and then moved outside. 14th street and 146th avenue. those injuries are said to be nonlife threatening. a holiday trip turned tragic. three children and their parents alled when their small plane

crashed in the central valley. "today in the bay" chuck coppola is here and we now know this family lived in the south bay. >> sheriff deputies recovered five bodies from the wreckage of that light plane that went down during a rain storm saturday about ten miles south of bakersfield. a relative says the five victims were members of the price family of gilroy. thomas jason price was piloting the plane and his wife and the couple's three children were traveling together to a holiday party. at about 4:00 p.m. saturday, the plane lost radar contact with air traffic control followed by urgent calls for help. >> just trying to do our best to either assist in the investigation and assist in finding what the cause was so these types of tragedies don't occur again. >> a single engine piper built in 1978. investigators from the ntsb and

faa are going in by foot to the wreckage. the national weather service says there was rain in the area at the time of the crash. chuck coppola, "today in the bay." >> chuck, thank you very much. now to a developing story out of las vegas where just hours ago authorities there announced the woman who drove her car, you see the crime scene tape here into the strip into a big crowd of people. she did it twice. they're saying she did it on purpose, but why? we still don't have the answer to that question. las vegas police say the driver who had a 3-year-old child, by the way, in her car at the time intentionally swerved on to the sidewalk near the paris hotel and casino running over people along the way. it hand about 6:30 last night. she then backed out on to the street before driving back on again to the. at least one person was killed. 37 more injured. some of them critically. the driver took off, but police caught up with her a few blocks away. witnesses say that scene was horrific. so horrific they thought it was part of a movie shoot.

>> suddenly saw people fly in the air. but because the car hit them and it was like a bowling ball hitting pins. >> i wasn't thinking about anything else other than to help those people. >> the driver is now in jail. she underwent blood tests for drugs and for alcohol. the child in the car with her wasn't injured. while police are calling it intention el, they say it was not an act of terrorism. we'll have a live report from las vegas where the scene is still very active this morning. that is coming up in our next half hour. kira? we may learn more today, sam, about a mysterious death over the weekend inside a cal frat house. someone called early saturday morning to report a 22-year-old young man unresponsive inside the house on channing way in berkeley. friday was the last day of the suer and police don't know if frat members were having a party there, but they do say a lot of students had already left campus for winter break. investigators say the man found dead was not a current student

at cal. right now his death is only being called suspicious. police plan to update the investigation some time today. a richmond neighborhood evacuated after a possible explosive device was found inside a home and now we're lurbing it may have been intended to target muslims. it wasevacuated while the bomb squad detonated the device. officers say the initial investigation, though, actually started back on thursday. that is when police got a tip about a man who said he wanted to harm muslims and may have some sort of explosive at his home. while detectives then followed up and they found what they're calling a suspicious device. the bomb squad was then called in. >> i just everybody back and they just sat down. and i said, i put in a box and put it in the car. >> it was like a little pop. and that was basically it. >> well, after those witnesses heard and saw that, police let everyone back into their homes.

no one was hurt. police did, however, arrest the 55-year-old man inside that home. no word yet on the charges he faces. 6:06 right now. new surveillance pictures tashow you this morning of a scary-looking crime scene in the north bay. to show a man and get away car in sonoma county investigators say he tried to break into a number of apartments along beverly drive. eventually forcing his way inside one of them. that's where police say that man got into a bedroom where a woman was sleeping at the time and she woke up when he apparently tried to look under her bed sheet. police say she rhe ran out when screamed. help california pay for the massive valley fire. feds say they'll pitch in $39 million. you'll remember that fire, the valley fire burned more than 76,000 acres in napa and sonoma counties back in september and october. four people died and more than 1,000 homes destroyed. four firefighters were also injured. the area burned so massive that crews are still only halfway

through that cleanup. well, because of all this wet weather we're seeing, bay area leaders this morning will press people to be prepared for the worst. contra costa county will make an announcement on storm preparations at 11:00 this morning. john joyous says an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so, he'll head up a demonstration with the county's public works department. they'll show the best way to protect your property from flooding with sandbags. one of the places they're making them available is the jail's south parking lot on giant highway in richmond. >> good to see folks looking ahead, but now here in the short term this's storm already causing trouble for travelers trying to get out of town for the holidays. a live look right now at a very wet golden gate bridge this morning. yesterday the consistent rain made it tough for drivers in san francisco where the roads there were just covered with standing water. spinouts and crashes and that is

not the only thing slowing down drivers. >> washing down on theway due to the rain because it's been so dry, we have a lot of debris on the hillside. >> and a lot of water still out there. the chp wants to remind people to drive cautiously this holiday season as the wet weather continues well into the week. yeah, this week people are working. people are headed out of town to go see family. let's check in with kari hall and see what it will be like as we head out on this monday. >> and a lot of problems from sfo because a look at all the travel delays and the only place in the entire country that has major delays right now because of the rain. even though as you head out farther to the east, there are some showers and the large cold front moving across the midpart of the country. that not causing any problems there. so, you may want to call ahead if you're traveling out of san francisco. and we are tracking still some light, spotty showers that will be with us all throughout the day. and some chilly temperatures and let's get a closer look at the north bay now. just south of santa rosa heading

towards petaluma. we do have some rain falling there on 101. and into the day, more of with another round of heavy rain moving into the north bay by 11:00 this morning. and then that continues to roll to the south. maybe later on this evening. the south bay can actually start to rack up more rain. i'll detail and what to expect as we head into christmas week. that's coming up in a few minutes. let's see how the roads are moving now with mike. >> kar, overall the roads are moving well. you showed that delay. two hours at sfo. likely due to weather. this is in emoryville. the rooftop camera shows stream of cars and we lose sight of xwi anything in the vicinity. there's the slow. let's look at your map. aside from a couple crashes that happened early, it slowed all the way down to the berkeley curve and coming off of 580, as well. an incident reported that treasure island off ramp there. that causes them taslow down and the metering lights and

everybody down on the approach and ease up on the metering lights and should see some recovery over the course the morning because traffic overall through the rest of the bay, moving well. ing for 580 in towards livermore and the south bay is completely clear. watch the lower the speeds because of slick conditions and look at san mateo bridge and westbound just starting to pick up the volume and chp cruiser hanging out by the toll plaza. looks like just pulled somebody over. back to you. >> mike, thanks. happening today, pair crews shutting down the busy westbound the closure between fair ranch road and freddy street. westbound traffic will be detoured on to smith street and union city boulevard. the work is in the same area as this sinkhole last month. crews will shut down westbound starting about 8:00 this morning. it should be back open by 5:00 tonight. coming up next, if you get this for christmas and you don't do something, you're going to

welcome back at 6:14. happening today, if you get a drone for christmas, you're going to have to register it before you fly it. today the faa is officially launching a website for people to register their drones. this applies to new drones and ones that have been in the sky for years, as well. owners will have to list a name, physical address and an e-mail address so that the agency can track down the pilots of that device. if it crashes or flies into restricted air space. drones must be registered by february 19th and the $5 fee will be waved for next few weeks. uth christmas presents from drones to hoverboards. pulling the popular gadget from store shelves. this morning target the latest company to make that move.

hoverboards coming under fire after catching on fire. you are looking at a viral video showing one hoverboard bursting into flames. amazon pulled the item from its inventory last week because of safety concerns. one of the most recent fires happened here at home in brentwood. a family plugged in their hoverboard to charge it when it burst into flames. almost caused the house to catch fire but the culprit the kind of battery inside those devices which have been known to self-ignite. more fallout for the pharmacy ceo many consider ruthless for the jacking up of cancer drug. the price of that cancer drug and connected to aids, as well. federal agents last week arrested martin shkreli now accused of security fraud in a ponzi scheme that sold millions of dollars. he may be better known for raising the price of a life-saving drug by 5,000% last september. you may have heard two labs have

now aed that they will suspend a drug trial sponsored by his company. winter officially starts tonight if you're not already feeling frosty. but you would be hard-pressed to find evidence of that back east. last year many of the country sought record snowfall but people were out on long island over the weekend golfing. boston may have set a record for its warmest december on record. there are few complaints about that, except that is if you rely on selling cold weather gear. >> hat and some cozy gloves and i'm like, well, i don't think that is going to work this year. >> ski resorts like this one in the massachusetts berkshire mountains are among those worrying that profits could be melting away and all that warmth. >> i have family visiting from minnesota and texas and we have colder weather here than they have there. >> that's selling point. >> right. i think they're going to recoming. well, maybe if i take them to see this, they won't regret

it. a pup that is drawing a crowd melting hearts in monterey and it has a lot of competition inside monterey bay aquarium, but getting a lot of the attention. >> we know who the clear winner is here. workers say that a wild otter pup yesterday morning gave birth to her pups in the aquarium's open ocean tide pool. everyone could see it out there. no guarantee how long the pup is going to stay there, if you head down to monterey. but as you can see, was drawing quite a crowd. that pup is still so young, the staff doesn't even know what its gender is just that it's a giant pile of fluff. whatever the case, it isly becoming the center of attention. >> so cute and so love and so, it's just so, it's so good. >> what do you even say inyou're at a loss for words. mom's priority right now is puffing up the puff's fur so it can float in the water and not

10:30 this morning for the north bay. we see the yellows and the reds and that indicates a heavy downpour. and there may be gust winds in there, too. san francisco and oakland and also for the delta and then for the farther south. we are going to see that rain moving in during the evening commute. will still see this rain pouring overnight and into the start of the day tomorrow, but it looks like tomorrow afternoon a lot of this starts to dry out as we get ready for another system to move in on wednesday. another look at all the major weather climates. no major shift in the weather temperatures. mid up to 50rs from the coast to inland areas and antioch up to 54 degrees while fairfield is at 57. a look at the additional rainfall totals we may see in san jose, most of that coming in tonight. we may have over an 1.5 and santa rosa 1.5 inches and an additional 4 inches of rain and that's just with this next

systeming in. in the sierra a lot of snow will be falling and this is great for those ski resorts. over 2 feet of snow in twin bridges and heavenly close to a foot of snow and that will be falling all throughout the week if you're packing to go to the sier sierra, be prepared for bitterly cold temperatures by the end of the week. the strongest cold front move through on christmas day and that will drop the lows there to about 2 degrees. here in the bay area, once again, rain off and on all throughout the week. wednesday we take a break at times and then on christmas eve, there will be more rain moving in and that will be the coldest rain that may drop some snow on mt. hamilton. we'll keep you up to date on that. let's check to see what's happening on the roadways now with mike. >> kari, a bay area white christmas. that's great. on the top of mt. hamilton. looking towards san rafael and the top of many of our maps. i pushed our map a little higher. pleasant drive and let's look at your map and petaluma north of there. north 101 countercommute where

there is a crash blocking all of your freeway right now. just koppel lanes available up there and unavailable, i should say. southbound the commute direction is deed by all this activety, as well. the east shore freeway still slow down towards the berkeley curve and earlier crash on the bay bridge itself causes the backup at the toll plaza itself. the rest of the bay moves well, including the maze on the approach and see things smooth out through berkeley. plan for that for the slowest drive for the bay. green blotches, damp, wet roadways let's just say that. bay bridge toll plaza just to show you the conditions and end with this shot, you xguys wet roadways and the traction of your car. a lot of spinouts in this area and things are calmer as far as weather wise right now. look for wet roadways to continue. >> definitely slowing things down a bit, mike. the frontrunner for the most awkward live television of all of 2015 and just happened last night. the major mistake while crowning

banner flew above levi stadium. this one says, hold jed accountable. the team's ceo told fans to hold him accountable when the team parted ways with former head coach jim harbaugh this off season. the 49ers are now 4-10 after losing to the bengals, 24-14. so, kira, a lot of people are holding steve harvey accountable this morning. now to what might be considered the biggest slip up of the year on live television. comedian steve harvey miscrowned miss universe. >> colombia. >> i have to apologize. the first runner up is colombia. >> that would be pretty crushing. there the host there made a major mistake as you saw steve harvey misread the card. it apparently clearly stated miss philippines won and that miss colombia was first runner up but he mixed the two up. to make matters worse, harvey

will continue creating wet, slippery conditions and temperatures in the low 50s. still upper 40s in the north bay. highs today up to 59 degrees in the tri-valley while san francisco is at 57 and 58 in the south bay. if you're catching a flight, major heads up there. if you have family coming in, i'll let you know what kind of weather you can expect for them. and, also, a look ahead to christmas, if you're traveling to the sierra. all of that coming up in the microclimate forecast. let's see what's happening on the roadways now with mike. >> kari, lighter december traffic and we are looking at and the biggest concern is slick roadways. folks, you need to slow down and concentrate and focus on your drive and not where you're going or what you to do later today. slippery, sloppy conditions late and camera trembles a bit and the wet roadways and bad grip on the road is what the issue is right now. we'll look at your map and we don't have a lot of slowing that shows up through that shot. over there as you approach the bay bridge. coming up through the upper shore freeway, your slowest drive right now. down towards the berkeley curve

the crashes all cleared and spinouts in this whole vicinity for the course of the morning. top of your screen the crash at pepper road and through petaluma and that causes a distraction for the southbound commute and that is an issue, as well. move south of the coliseum, slowing through hayward through the san mateo bridge and everything south of there is just fine. west 2 picking up the volume and still slowing the pace a bit across the flat section. back tayou. . >> mike, thanks. breaking news out of the east bay. a shooting outside a nightclub in san leandro injured four people happened at club caliente. at 14th street and 146th avenue. police are interviewing witnesses and not releasing any information on the shooter just yet. it's not clear if there was some sort of fight inside the nightclub that may have moved outside. but we do know the injuries are said to be nonlife threatening. 6:31 right now. what was supposed to be a short journey to a holiday celebration took a deadly and a tragic turn

for a bay area family. three children and their parents all killed when their small plane crashed in the central valley. "today in the bay" chuck coppola is here in studio. we know this family lived in the south bay. learning more about their identity. >> the national weather service says there was rain in the flight path of a light plane carrying the price family of gilroy to a holiday party in las vegas. the plane never arrived at its destination. a relative says jason price was traveling with his wife, 41-year-old olga and their three children, olivia, mary and john to henderson, nevada. the plane lost radar contact at about 4:00 p.m. saturday and roughly a half hour later, air traffic controllers heard three distinct calls for help from the pilot. >> they located the debris field that was approximately one quarter mile in length north to south and we just fry to do our best to either assist in the investigation and finding what the cause was so these types of

tragedies don't occur, again. >> the wreckage was found in an almond orchard ten miles south of bakersfield. the aircraft built in 1978 the investigators are going in by foot to the wreckage. coroners expect to formally identify the victims in the next couple of days. chuck coppola, "today in the bay." 6:33 right now this morning oakland police are trying to unravel a couple of shootings. one of which left a teenager dead. that shooting happened just before 2:00 yesterday afternoon on mandela parkway near street. the teen died at the hospital. police tell us the two shooters ran away. just about an hour earlier and just blocks away, three people were shot under the interstate 880 approach to the bay bridge. that shooter and a car got away, too. police can't say if both of those shootings are related. search now, kira, alameda county sheriff deputies are looking for a gunman who killed a man right in the middle of a street. happened in hayward overnight on

sunday. police say that there was some kind of event going on saturday night when a fight broke out and then somebody opened fire. when police arrived, they found a man dead in the middle of the street. right now police are not identifying who that was. no word on the identity of the gunman either. the search on this morning for the driver of a ford suv involved in a hit and run in fremont. this happened early saturday morning at fremont boulevard. police say two men were walking in the crosswalk when they were hit by that suv. the driver then took off and police did find debris from a 1998 ford suv at the scene. the victims are both in the hospital this morning. one of them suffering from life-threatening injuries. and we now know the identity of a man killed in a car crash in the oakland. 31-year-old jeffrey hart died saturday when his suv plunged into the water. witnesses say that he was speeding when the car jumped the sidewalk, crashed through a railing and then went into the water. this happened near nob hill

foods. a cashier ran out to help and immediately jumped into the water to try to save him. >> i can't even see my hand. it's too dark to see anything. so, i just go in there and try to find something and i'm finding absolutely nothing. >> when emergency crews arrived, a rescue swimmer with the alameda fire department was able to find hart's body. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. a developing story out of las vegas if you're just waking up just hours ago, authorities in las vegas announced the woman who drove her car into a crowd of people who were walking on the busy las vegas strip did so on purpose. but why? that we still don't know. las vegas police do say the driver who had a 3-year-old baby in the car with her intentionally swerved on the sidewalk running over people along the way. this happened around 6:30 last night. they say she backed into the street before driving back up on

friday was the last day of the school semester. police don't know if fraternity merb memb members were having a party but lots of students already left campus for winter break. the man found dead not a current student at cal. right now his death is only being called suspicious. police plan to update that investigation some later today. and a former east bay youth pastor now facing child molestation charges this morning. 34-year-old gabriel lopez is accused of molesting two girls. the victims told police that it happened at a student ministry program in hercules where lopez was a volunteer pastor. police say both victims attended john sweat high school in crocket. lopez was a volunteer football coach there. police think there could have been more victims. a today expected to issue his final ruling on clearing san francisco police officers who sent each other racist and homophobic text messages. the judge ruled the police department waited too long to discipline those officers.

at least nine cops sent a string of bigoted texts which first surfaced back in 2012 but only became public earlier this year. that's when police chief thought to have those officers fired. the judge on friday cited the statute of limitations when he ruled they should actually keep their jobs. it is 6:38 right now. and we're going to send it over to kari hall who has information on the weather, of course. also flight delays and what's so ridiculous looking is that there are no delays on the east coast. >> i know. >> but here on the west coast. >> look at san francisco. 2 1/2 hour delay coming out of sfo. so, if you have a flight you want to call ahead. it's all because of this rain and wind. and, yeah, there is another storm system moving through chicago, extending on towards tennessee and mississippi right now. and there are no delays there. some rain moving through the bay area and we'll see it getting heavier as we go through the morning. additional rainfall racking up and it looks like it doesn't

really reach the south bay until this afternoon. when we start to see that rain pouring for several hours into tonight and into the start of the day tomorrow. if you're going over to the sierra, there is a winter storm warning and the tire chains are a requirement. we're expecting up to two feet of snow above 7,000 feet. those are requirements and hazardous travel will be likely throughout the week and some very cold temperatures there. i'll have a look at how much snow once again and how much rain in the bay area and what to expect heading into christmas. that's coming up in a few minutes. let's see what's happening on the roadways now with mike. >> karia few more cars but it's the week of christmas and we expect a light volume all week as we have seen all december. this is 580 through dublin. the volume not the big concern, but i want to show you, still a little puddling and pondling on some of these roadways, as well as the ramps. that is a concern for spinouts this morning. as we look at your maps, no major issues. not even out of the altamont or 84 down through pleasanton

a developing story right now out of southern china. that is where rescuers are digging through wreckage and debris looking for any survivors following this massive landslide. that's the video you're looking at right there. nearly 100 people are missing. 33 buildings buried underneath mud. that includes two worker dorms. so far the coner ffirmation of deaths. 00 people were evacuated and nearly 1,500 more are involved in the rescue efforts. the friend and former neighbor of one of the san bernardino shooters will face a judge, once again, today. this time for a bail and detention hearing. enrique marquez is charged with conspiracy to commit crimes of terrorism and federal weapons charges. prosecutors say marquez purchased two assault rifles used in the san bernardino massacre used by farook and his wife malik.

the pair killed 14 people and wounded 20 others in last month's attack. just koppel hours ago, prosecutors announced the passenger now detained in connection with a fake bomb aboard an air france plane that had to make an emergency landing as a result. found a possible bomb in the bathroom onboard an air france jet that was traveling to paris. the pilots made an emergency landing in kenya. nearly 500 people had to revacuate that flaen on emergency slides. one passenger said many didn't know the real reason for the evacuation until everything was over. >> we didn't know what was happening, actually. and, so, we said we are to land because we are have a technical problem, but actually was not a technical problem. >> authorities say the fake bomb was made out of cardboard and a household timer. now to decision 2016. a new lying acuzashz acuzashcus

back and forth between donald trump and hillary clinton. this time trump doing the fingerpointing. hillary clinton claimed isis is using the rhetoric from donald trump's mouth as a recruiting tool to lure new jihadists. trump is blasting clinton saying no proof of that. >> nobody has been able to back that up. it's nonsense. it's just another hillary lie. she lies like crazy about everything. >> the first presidential caucuses and primaries are now just over one month away. at least six candidates are scheduled to stump today in new hampshire and we just got word that lindsay gram has ended his presidential campaign. happening today, posa very important milestone in space flight. space-x delayed the launch until 5:30 tonight because of bad weather. if the flight is successful the booster will come back for a soft landing.

>> we all take a trip to taw. last year if you went, a little disappointed. >> you know what's crazy, some of the computer models put down about 80 inches of snow this week in the sierra. yeah. and it all clears out in time for christmas. that system moves to the east and for the bay area, we may even have a little bit of snow on top of mt. hamilton. we'll be tracking that for you as we go towards the end of the week. a look now at the golden gate bridge. everyone getting along just fine, even with the wet roads. windshield wipers on. as you head out the door, grab the umbrella, a warm coat and also some rain boots. here is a look at the rainfall totals. over five inches of rain. 5.5 for fairfield and oakland and san francisco approaching 1.5. and we are also looking at about.25 in emenlo park and poor old san jose at 0.2. we should get a little bit more

later on tonight, but we've just seen the scattered light rain throughout the day. still more heavy rain will be dropping into the north bay. santa rosa getting the possibility of maybe a couple of rumbles of thunder around 11:00 or 123::00 today and then movin over to the east bay. south bay later on this afternoon and into tonight and we'll still see the radar just covered as we go into tonight, as well as early tomorrow. more rain falling and a lot of people just trying to get on the roads to head out for some, to meet grandma. it looks like we'll have some more of that wet weather and a look at all the microclimates today. no big differences in the temperatures. in the mid-50s. upper 50s in some spots and we'll see that as we go through the next several days, as well, with that rain off and on. rainfall totals from this storm system may top over 1.5 for fremont and san jose about the same. san francisco an additional 0.75 and possibly up to 4 inches of

rain ukiah. we could have two feet in kirkwood and heavenly about 10 inches of snow. once again, another system right behind that. so, we'll have more of these weather systems rolling on in. for tonight, some heavy rain and then it lingers into early tomorrow. by tomorrow afternoon, we should be able to take a break. also for wednesday, it looks pretty dry. the next one moves in christmas eve and this system one that could drop a little bit of snow on mt. hamilton with some cold air moving in and then it all clears out for christmas, hopefully, if you're going to the sierra they'll have a chance to clear out the roads. so, pretty wet all throughout the week. chilly temperatures and really cool as we head into friday. freezing temperatures expected during the morning. we'll keep you up to date on that, let's see how the commute is moving now with mike. >> good morning, kari. over towards the bay bridge where it's not moving much over here, that's good movement, at

least. hov, there's the benefit. wet roadways. that's the issue. wet roadways. because the backup here only extends to the berkeley curve. let's look back for the east shore freeway and jammed up from powell and now condensed right here and all our roadways split up and head over towards the toll plaza and 580 slow, as well, out of the maze. as we look at your map, a nice, pleasant drive. that slow drive here affects the most folks as far as the commuters go and as far as numbers for cars. meanwhile, the most impact as far as speed goes 101 at pepper road two lanes opened and one lane closed north bthrough petaluma. no problems approaching the san mateo bridge and little slowing and san jose easy drive coming northbound as your camera is out there and 101 at 680. light traffic. back to you guys. >> a lot of spots on the road there. 6:51 right now. clipped wings on the runway.

southwest flight bound for oakland hit another plane at a southern california airport. a passenger took this photo of the crash. it happened yesterday at burbank's bob hope airport. the oakland bound plane was backing out of the gate, backed that thing up and then the wings clipped another plane at the neighboring gate. well, passengers on the oakland-bound plane said they felt two big bumps. this is some video from inside the cabin it looks like right afterwards everyone is checking to make sure their stuff is all secure. southwest sent out a statement saying they were working to accommodate all the passengers. wow. back here in the bay area, a richmond neighborhood vacuated after a possible explosive device was founded is a home and now we're learning it may have been intended to target muslims. the neighborhood around mcbride and san pablo avenues while the bomb squad detonated the device yesterday. the initial investigation started back on thursday. that's when police got a tip about a man who said he wanted to harm muslims. and may have some sort of

it is 6:56. breaking news out of the east bay. a shooting outside a nightclub injured four people. it happened just before 2:00 this morning at a popular night spot called club caliente. police don't have any suspect information. right now they are interviewing witnesses. unclear at this point if there was some sort of fight inside the nightclub that moved outside. this, by the way, is at 14th

street and 146th avenue. the injuries on those four people are said to be nonlife threatening. a heart break over the weekend. later today we are expected to learn more information about the south bay family killed when a small plane crashed near bakersfield over the weekend. >> chuck coppola is in our newsroom and we now know this gilroy family was on their way to a holiday party when something went wrong. >> absolutely right. the coroner has yet to positively identify the victims, but a relative of the family told us that the plane was carrying the price family of gilroy. jason price of gilroy was flying his wife, 41-year-old ola and their three children, olivia, mary and john, to henderson, nevada, and a holiday party. the national weather service says there was rain where the single engine piper pa 32 and the air traffic controllers lost contacts about 4:00 p.m. saturday and then heard three distinct calls for help from the pilot. the wreckage was found ten miles south of bakersfield.

this morning investigators from the ntsb returned to the scene hoping to figure out what happened. jason price had been an engineer with genesis solution. chuck coppola, "today in the bay." now to a developing story. police trying to figure out why a woman intentionally swerved her car on to a busy sidewalk on the las vegas strip killing one person and injuring dozens. actually, at least 37 other people. itened last night. police rescued her 3-year-old daughter from the back of the car. the child is not hurt. investigators are now interviewing that woman. tests are under way, as well, to see whether she was on drugs or alcohol at the time. "today" show will have the latest on the investigation coming up just a few minutes. better news back here in the bay area, we're seeing rain and seeing a lot of it, at least the neighborhoods are getting it are seeing a lot of it. >> san francisco, oakland and farther to the north. it's been really hit or miss for the south bay. we are still tracking some more of those scattered showers that will be with us all throughout the day. temperature wise, expect it to
