today. bearing the brunt of the latest storm system. heavy, nonstop rainfall leading to localized floods. slick roadways throughout and potential rock slides and now we have strong winds to contend with. >> it is the wind advisory leading the story here. let's go to kari hall. can be a dangerous mixture. >> yes. when the ground is already soggy that could cause some trees to easily topple over with the winds kicking up to 40 to 50 miles per hour like we may see especially in the north bay and the east bay hills. now the rain, the bulk of it, continues to move across the east bay and south bay at this point and a closer look at the south bay, you see where it's till wet and then head to the north bay and a chance to dry out. and it's now in the upper 50s so our temperatures did not dip much overnight an we'll see the temperatures holding steady through the day. i'll detail that and a look at the wind forecast going into the afternoon and continue to increase, that's coming up and

may affect the commute this morning. how's it looking on the roads, moo snik. >> the wind gusts, watch the high-rise for the san mateo and bay bridge. they're usual suspects. nothing of note there for crashes there but we have flooding gone and then popped back up on the report. southbound 680 to eastbound 08 80 and westbound on southbound and traffic be careful and crews there trying to unclog a drain, second time this morning. you'll find spots for flooding around the bay, of course. third morning in a row. we also have a crash south 101 at cesar chavez. hydroplaning, spinouts are the big risks and traffic overall looking good right now. >> watching for road hazards there, thank you. on the peninsula, they're praying for divine intervention amid the wet weather. a daly city church is actually sliding down a hill this morning.

4:36 am
have to deal with and even though we get breaks in the rain, we are seeing the heaviest rain rolling into the south bay and as we get a closer look now, you can see that it's still wet. but we have the wet roads everywhere around the bay area. but the winds will continue to rush in on shore and sustained winds at about 40 miles per hour as we go into the next couple of hours an then we see our winds slowly tapering off into the noon hour but still pretty strong. that's 25 to 30 miles per hour and there will be some higher gusts so with the sustained winds at a long period of time we may see the trees bending over and they may snap so keep that in mind if you're out today. we'll keep you up to date on that and if there's damage across the bay area. let's see how it looks on area roadways and bridges with mike. >> san mateo bridge from the camera and trembling a bit with the gusts of wind. we're looking at a smooth, light
