>> we're looking great. one last warm day before some rain and cooler temperatures move into the bay area. grab a jacket as you head out, we're now in the low 50s and upper 40s for the north bay, but you'll be taking it off this afternoon as we hit 80 in the north bay and south bay mid to upper 70s elsewhere across the bay area. and then dropping back into the 60s the rest of the week. let's see what is happening in the south bay. >> a lot more traffic than yesterday. in the south bay looking at san jose, south bay schools, a lot of strinlgts have what they call the winter break, so we may see less traffic overall, but a crash around taylor street. we'll talk about taylor swift coming up. rest of the bay looking at a smooth try toward the dublin interchange, slowi ining north livermore.

offering gorgeous views. the suspect was found yesterday in richmond. a dark gray suv they believe he had car jacked and a traffic stop of that suv led to the arrest and search of a home by s.w.a.t. officers in richmond. one major missing piece is the gun used in double killing that happened just after 2:00 sunday morning. it left one man fighting for his life and killed a 21-year-old. his family says he was a landscaper and just hanging out with friends when he was shot and killed. so far people have raised 800 out of an $8,000 goal for his funeral and memorial costs. we also though police have said contreras who they believe again is the gunman knew his victim, but we don't know a motive. we're expecting to saer more

details from san francisco police later today. live here in san francisco, stephanie chuang, today th"toda ba bay". this morning a search for a lawyer linked to a high profile case. steven mitchell was hired by sonoma county to handle the civil suit filed by the family of andy lopez to represent the county. you'll remember lopez was shot and killed by a sheriff deputy who mistook his replica lifl ri for a real one. mitchell's wife reported him missing over the weekend. they found mitchell's car parked in bodega bay, but no sign of him. deputies do not suspect foul play. investigators say robert veg ga shot and killed gus vegas at his home last week. officer vegas was the grand taker of the suspect's son.

investigators are still trying to figure out any motive here or are what led to the shooting. vegas was a 15 year veteran of the richmond police department. he will be honored at a public memorial service in richmond this friday. a warning this morning in campus police at ucburg berkel. a 15-year-old girl was walking saturday night when a man approached her with a knife. the teen was not hurt during the robbery. all new this morning, police searching for an armed robber who held up a cashier at gunpoint at a boost mobile store. this happened about 7:00 last night. investigators say that that cashier was forced to open the register while the suspect pointed a silver revolver at him. the suspect ran off with an undisclosed amount of money and it's not known if any vehicle was involved in the getaway. in just a matter of hours, a brand new pharmacy will open its doors for the first time in san jose. but it redistributes unused

medications for free. >> kris sanchez live in front of the pharmacy on east santa clara street. and it's the first of its kind in the entire state. >> reporter: this could be a model for the entire state. its xwegetting either open dedicated facility and it really is the culmination of nearly a decade of this kind of work providing free prescriptions for people who could not otherwise afford them. back in 2008, the santa clara county department of public health saw a way to put unused prescriptions in to the hands of people who were either not buying them or who were skipping doses in order to make the prescription last. since then it has saved $400,000 and kept a lot of drugs out of the landfills and water supply. and we're scrolling through some of the more than 21 pages of drugs available this week to treat conditions from asthma to heart conditions and beyond. the county accepts unused

unopened unexpired medications from licensed donors. anyone who cannot afford a prescription can bring it here to be filled for no proof income, residency or citizenship required. if the meds are in stock, the prescription is filled just like at any other pharmacy. the stock does vary based on what the dough nations are that week. and it cannot it dispense controlled substances. but certainly a lot of other medications that can help people. the grand opening is at 10:00 and then volunteers get back to to work doing what they have been doing here for about eight years. just at a different location. kris sanchez, "today in the bay." 6:07. one more day needing the sun tan lotion.

>> we will have warm weather. the sun will warm the temperatures up after a start now at 48 degrees. it's 54 in san carlos and 51 in oakland and san jose. looking at those highs this afternoon, once again in the upper 70s and even hitting 80 in gilroy and half moon bay. financial district 76 degrees. also napa. oakland, 80 and livermore 78 degrees. we are in for some rain apmuch cooler temperatures heading into tomorrow. i'll detail that coming up. we'll take you to the north bay, southbound 101 showing a lot more traffic than we had yesterday. southbound 680 slow down toward where we had an earlier crash that moved to the shoulder just past 780. but we've seen the build for the morning commute and that is the concern. 680. westbound 880 is all right

toward east shore freeway. as we move the map out, you'll see the bay bridge metering lights are on. so backup coming off of 580 and 24. fender bender reported just past caster valley. and build for hayward. over here the tri-valley does have slowing west 580 in tort north livermore where we had an earlier crash and that set off the slower drive up to that point. that crash has cleared, but also the point where folks spread down toward north livermore. but not so bad for a tuesday at this time. south bay might see less traffic because a lot of the schools are on winter break this week. the whole week, not just yesterday. we do see the build north 101. and then a crash at taylor off of 87, still no reports. but no slowing showing up here.

amount, but we know animal services has about 100 voice mails for people who want to donate. so i don't want to say that they have the 10,000, but they're definitely doing a good job. they're trying to save valentine, a 7 day old horse and even though he looks fine, resting right now, probably a little pain meds going on there, as well. if you look at the back part writs's shaved, they did an you will have a sound. his pelvis is broken. and right under the break are vital arteries. so the concern is that if he moves or does anything without the surgery, that that break would rupture the arteries and obviously he could bleed out. he was discovered saturday and you brought him out on sunday. i'm just curious in your line of work, you don't want to get attached to animals, correct? because you see a lot? >> very true. >> but you're attached to this one.

valentine. $100 i $100, $200, some people 2,000. >> such a giving place. >> lifting our hearts and also temperatures one more day. >> one more day of the warm weather. we take a live look at the bay bridge. we see a clear start to the day and everyone getting out and about. p no worries about fog. and you can leave the up brel are a at home. as we take a look now at those temperatures in the upper 40s heading out, a light jacket needed now and san jose thousand at 52 degrees. heading in to the day, we will start to see some clouds moving in, but i don't think we'll see the clouds until tonight. so in the meantime, our temperatures will warm up into the 70s and 80s. here we are tomorrow morning and we start to see the showers moving into parts of the north bay. and some much needed rain at that as it gets heavier into the evening commute once again this is tomorrow. and we will see those showers lingering into early thursday

before it clears out. at this point it looks like there could be anywhere between quarter of an inch in palo alto, maybe half an inch in oakland and santa rose. but the temperature outlook is well above normal. we should be at about 61 degree this is livermore, up to 78 today. 65 tomorrow with the clouds and late kay showday showers. and cooler on thursday. we will have highs reaching back into the 70s by this weekend. so look good especially on sunday. a lot more comfortable with a high of 73 degrees, but a cool start to the weekend as we will mainly be in the low to mid-60s. and the rain will have a slight chance of that in the north bay on friday. let's check in now with mike. >> we had a lot more traffic compared to yesterday. things are calming down, but we'll look toward fremont.

killing happened behind the shop and the body exposed in the mountains. steve libo admitted into getting into a fight with the victim, but maintains that he was framed. also this court this morning, an elementary schoolteacher accused of sexually abusing a student. he was arrested last month for allegedly sexually abusing a girl more than ten years ago. he was a fourth and fifth grade teacher this palo alto. the school put him on unpaid leave. the arrest came after more than a year long investigation into allegations having sexual relations with a girl over a three year period. storting wh inin ining starting was just 11. san francisco planning to level the playing field for a unique law designed to assist elderly bus passengers. when it comes to giving up your seat for a senior citizen, we should all do it, but it's the the law. penalties have always been

bay and then it moves farther to the south. we will start to see the showers early tomorrow morning for the north bay. starting out as light rain and then spreading to the south. maybe heavier down pours by tomorrow evening. the why yellow indicates heavier rain. as it sweeps through, also gusty winds a possibility. so looking at high winds and rain here while we have snow in the sierra. rainfall totals may reach anywhere from about quarter of an inch in san jose up to maybe half an inch in spots like napa. a little higher for far north bay. and into the next several days, after coming up to off of some record highs, in livermore we're looking at 78 today. 65 tomorrow p. and we'll be right at average on thursday into the start of the weekend, we'll start to see the temperature trend going right back up by the end of the weekend, we will have highs back in the low 70s. and mostly sunny skies. we'll also have a slight chance of rain in the north bay on

friday. we'll talk are more about all of that, but let's in now with mike. we have a bigger commute than yesterday, but not as big as a typical tuesday. san jose, we have slowing north 101 just north of 680, but look at your maps and this is not quite as much slowing as we typically see. because it's tuesday, it's during winter recess for south bay schools. we're looking toward slow and go for north 101 at capital expressway, 87, 85 and 280 all showing incal patterns. but a little lighter than we might expect. slower here south 880 down toward thornton. chp has yet to give me the all clear there for lanes slow through union city. building toward the peninsula. build for the east shore freeway slowing down through richmond, berkeley and toward the bay bridge where the meetitering lis are on.

california rock band eagles of deaf metal will make their return to paris. >> the band will perform at olympia hall. in november you'll recall 89 people were killed during their show, one of a series of attacks that eventually left 130 dead. security will be tight at tonight's event. p in a tearful interview with a french television station, the lead singer says it was time to finish what the band started that fateful night. >> it's been such an outpouring of support for us and love for us. it's overwhelming. i don't want to let anyone down, you know. >> hard to get over that night if they ever do. survivors of the attack were given free tickets to the show. psychologists will be on site to provide any emotional support.

27-year-old richard contreras. you can see now there is a memorial not victims. a reminder of the triple shooting that happened sunday morning. and the search for the suspect ended just before 7:00 last night in richmond where police pulled contreras over. that led to the arrest and then search of a home by s.w.a.t. officers. police have not recovered any firearm connected to the shooting that left an 18-year-old fighting to his life and killed two others. their family saying a landscaper just hanging out with his friends when he was killed. police have said the suspect knew his victims. stephanie chuang, "today in the bay." >> reporter: and in san jose the county will get its first permanent free pharmacy for folks to get their drugs for free with a doctor's note. the better health pharmacy is getting its first of its kind
