snag the most states on super tuesday. it's a long way ahead in the presidential race. >> the smoke starts to clear, chris, what can you tell us? >> i can tell you i'm tired because i can't stop watching all this unfold before my eyes. while the two candidates who enjoyed resounding victories, the candidates who came in second and third and fourth and fifth are still saying it is not over. democrat, hillary clinton won 7 of 11 states. senator, bernie sanders took four. clinton has 979 delegates, 41% of the number she needs to clench the nomination. she's getting closer there. the republicans, donald trump won 7 of 11 states, ted cruz did pick up his home state plus oklahoma and two other states. marco rubio only won minnesota. john kasich and ben carson could not claim victory in any state.

children suffering through p children suffering through physical abuse and sexual abuse, even a lack of food. >> the irony is these are children already victims of abuse and neglect and pulled from their families and relocated to government funded families for protection and re-victimized all over again. >> we spent the last three months covering the story. >> good morning. it's happening at modern day orphanages put together by the government. we got reports of children beaten and drugged as a form of discipline. there are 166 across the bay area that can have 4 to 100

children. over the past eight years there have been 815 violations at bay area group homes that pose an immediate risk to children according to the california department of children services. they can act immediately to force change when children are in danger, the process to shut down a poorly performing group home can take a while which means kids and teens will continue living in a facility cited for posing an immediate risk to children. the new law aims to limit them by 2021 and means they will have to recruit a lot more foster families willing to take in the children and doing a better job tofind -- relatives of those kids who might be willing to open up their home. orld 340days in space - astrona

lamb. i think we will see that the next couple of weeks. >> go fly a kite! >> as we take a live look at san jose, it is nice and clear. we don't see the dense fog here but we are seeing it in parts of the bay area, like the north bay and dense fog moving in. temperatures in the low to mid 50s. 50s in san jose and livermore at 48 degrees and concord, 53 degrees. as we go hour by hour in san francisco we will still have clouds throughout most of the morning, low clouds hanging around throughout the day to keep the temperatures down. the bottom of the screen, after today, rain pretty much everyday for seven days, a couple breaks here and there. a total washout. we are expecting heavy downpo downpours. in san jose, we're up to 71 degrees and 64 degrees in san

mateo. 64 degrees. we're bringing temperatures back down thank to the cloud cover. soon, we will see rain moving into the north bay later tonight. it will be fairly dry as we go through today. we're getting ready for a change in that pattern that brings scattered showers starting in the north bay saturday night. by friday we also have scattered rain moving in and then the heavy stuff for the weekend, as the storm door swings wide open. we'll have gusty winds potentially up to 50 miles an hour and very heavy rain late saturday night to early sunday morning. on the backside of that, still some scattered showers as that low pressure moves off to the east. rainfall potential looks crazy over the next several days. at least 2-3 inches, maybe 3 1/2 inches in spots that get even more rainham.

potential of flooding, wind damage and power outages. we will have possibility of thunderstorms late saturday night and temperatures coming back down. and only highs in the 50s in the north bay sunday and 60s elsewhere. now, what's happening on the roadw roadways. >> i said the construction will clear up at 5:00, actually 6:00. you can see this construction on highway 84, and 880, getting over to the dunbarton bridge is a concern. take padre that will go over 84 and you can get to the dunbarton bridge. that is a concern for some folks heading across to east pay loe aw ail toe -- pay low alto.

weather will come in the bay. >> good morning. >> definitely confirmed this morning, rain, snow and mayhem in the works for the weeks moving forward. kari hall is moving with your forecast. not mayhem, but more rain. >> we need the rain and the snow the next several days and continues for a span of the weekend into next week. now, temperatures in the low to mid 50s as you head out. as that clears out today we will have a mix of sun and clouds and evening showers for the north bay and possibly san francisco. i will talk more about that. i can see the fog is getting thicker in the north bay. how are the roads looking? >> we use these visual cues to see
