chuang live in walnut creek at the scene of an amazing crash. a car flies into this office building early this morning leading to the difficult rescue of the people trapped inside. incredible video coming up. i'm bob redell live at the scene of a shooting in livermore where one person is dead. that story coming up. and the storm door swinging open. rain starting to fall in parts of the bay area as we just see the start of what's going to be a wet stretch of weather. the full timeline right now on "today in the bay." good morning. thanks for joining us, i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm sam brock. get to the storm door and it's creaking open and now it's going to swing, kari. >> light rain this morning and then a blast of some heavy rain and some strong winds heading into the weekend. so, as you head out this morning, grab the umbrella. we've seen the rain very hit and miss and it's been light and see

this off and on all throughout the morning. a closer look, we're not seeing anything too heavy at this point, but, once again, just getting things started. temperatures now in the mid to upper 50s. so, it feels mild. and we'll keep those temperatures in the low 60s today for many spots. 66 degrees today in the south bay. we'll talk about what to expect this weekend and also for today that's coming up in a few minutes. let's get a live look at the emoryville camera at the bay bridge. here's mike. >> we'll show you a glow to the lights, mist and low clouds hanging out around the bay bridge. you might have to use your windshield wipers there. the golden gate bridge, also, some mist on the lens and folks will likely show the windshield wipers out of the north bay. the conditions changing as we head through the north bay and we're just going to look at a smooth drive and the green highlighted around the map from time to time. that's where we're going to have damp roadways. keep that in mind as you travel through the interchanges and

south through hayward. back to you. >> we saw the first signs of that rain, mike, on the lens there. a great way to track both conditions on the road and the weather as our nbc bay area app. just click on the weather tab & find live, satellite radar. an update now to breaking news we have been following since 4:30 this morning. take a look at this dramatic and dangerous. a scene of a car slamming right a building flying off the freeway to walnut creek. >> we'll show you where it happened. off of boulevard circle 680 just a few hours ago. "today in the bay" stephanie chuang has been there all morning long and firefighter husband to pull two victims from that wreckage. it would be surprising to hear that they don't have serious injuries based on how bad it looked. >> yeah. the video was pretty incredible, kris and sam. officials when they got here the building's structural integrity was in question and only one metal piece holding it up and rescue the two people who ended

up inside that office building there. the bmw landing upside down and 15 feet after flying four to five feet off the highway by the interchange and this is before midnight. and extrication tools the male driver and the female passenger who suffered major injuries. one suffered a broken neck. i did see blood inside. the bmw was going reportedly 100 miles per hour, fast enough to fly off the highway and make it hundreds of feet here. we spoke with the owner of the building who said he couldn't understand how a car landed so far out adding it is lucky this didn't happen hours later. >> cars parked in this area and people in the building and, fortunately, some of that was occurring. >> now, there is better video here the bmw sitting on the tow truck. the chp saying no pursuit of any

kind of this bmw on the highway. crews will be here for hours, maybe up to eight hours to put inerary steel beams and make surestructure of the building is okay. live here in walnut creek, stephanie chuang "today in the bay." >> thank you very much, steph. more breaking news in this time in livermore where police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened in the last four hours. bob redell in the scene and described as an officer-involved incident, but has that changed? >> still not clear on that respect, sam and kris. but from what we have been able to determine based on our conversations with both the livermore police and fire departments, we know one person was shot and killed earlier this morning. down there you're looking at the scene a good couple hundred yards away. and that is near pacifica

entran entrance. this happened around 3:00 this morning and the fire department said they received a call from police of an active shooter and the first report to us was that of an officer-involved shooting. police confirm that none of their officers were hurt. they are all okay. they tell us it was a shooting and not clear who this person was. whether they were shot by police or if they shot themselves. we're still waiting on a sergeant or lieutenant to update us with more information. reporting live here in livermore, bob redell "today in the bay." 6:05 right now. a bay area babysitter under arrest this morning facing child abuse charges. she had advertised herself on the popular babysitting website, you used it, care.com. now police are looking for more possible victims. mariah gonzales police say their investigation actually began in early february. so far no further details surrounding that alleged abuse

are being released right now because of the sensitive nature of this case. as we mentioned, gonzales advertised her caretaker abilities on a popular website care.com. part of the company's mission is to "improve the lives of families and caregivers by helping them connect in a reliable and easy way." the website says it helps families make safer and more am formed decisions. to do that they offer three tiers of comprehensive background checks. this morning we reach out to the company about a comment to the case. "care.com does not employ, recommend or endorse any care provider or care seeker nor is it responsible for the conduct of any care provider or care seeker." clocher for a bay area family. a missing brisbane woman has been confirmed dead after her torso was found near the dumbarton bridge and police are

saying the suspect is her husband, who is also dead. a small memorial grew out the titchener home overnight in brisbane. they managed to match her thumb print to those human remains. you may remember shelly's torso was found over a week ago and then last tuesday her husband jumped off the bay bridge and killed himself. >> develop a timeline of events leading up to the incident. >> police are tracking the couple's final moments before shelly's death and checking the couple's phone and credit card statements among other possible evidence. the couple has two adult sons. under fire for the treatment of inmates. the south bay sheriff is taking matters into her own hands. >> or into her own wallet. laurie smith got fed up with the red tape of buying new security cameras for the main jail so she bought them with her own credit

card. smith has been pushing for more cameras since the beating death of michael tyree which has three deputies facing charges. that incident was not caught on camera. smith went shopping, we learned it would about two years and $20 million to add to the current surveillance system. >> i was very frustrated. we've been talking about it for six months. we finally got their work that showed it would be two years before it was installed and we knew we needed an interim system. >> she bought those cameras the same way you or i might do it. she went to costco. $761 system for the seven camera system that is being installed in the wing that tyree. turning to the microclimate forecast. as we take a live look from atop san bruno mountains and the drive through the north bay. the rain is back and stick around for the next several days and it is not going to be as

light as we're seeing this morning, right, kari? >> we start out with light rain and starting to see the raindrops making it on to the lens. as we look at our golden gate bridge camera. getting foggy out there in spots and we will see this light raining into parts of the peninsula, as well as the east bay, just enough to make those roads wet as you head out this morning. so, some rain that will continue off and on throughout the day and the next several days with breezy winds today and mostly cloudy skies with time of rain. we will also have some showers tomorrow. mainly light and then a bigger storm system, a stronger one moves in saturday afternoon into the evening and brings some heavy rain, some strong winds and the potential for some thunderstorms, as well. we'll talk more about all of this and how much rain we can expect the next several days. that's coming up in less than ten minutes. let's get an idea of the flow of traffic now from mike. >> we're looking towards 880 for fremont and smoothed out over the last 20 minutes and was a

little slow there. damp roadways in parts of the east bay and we'll show you that map. show up as green for the most part. road weather index and showing you what it is like on the roadway and that is the case over towards the tri-valley and south bay not much of a concern and little build north 101 and right on schedule there. same thing out of the altamont. watching south 680 reports of a car or a vehicle of some part right around the sunol off ramp and check that as chp heads out there. if they have to close the lanes, i'll you know. meanwhile, we're looking towards the bay toll mrauza and the bay bridge metering lights and slowing because of that volume through berkeley. look at the toll plaza itself and don't have any major problems but mist and drizzle in parts. look at that drops on the lens you may encounter. back to you. >> apparently power to control traffic, not just monitor it. on earth right now and back in the united states just hours ago, astronaut scott kelly landed on american soil for the first time in nearly a year. looks pretty good.

day and now there is a recall out for this love today ceramic coffee mug. love today, gone tomorrow, alee. sold at target stores nationwide and they're labeled microwave safe but the lettering is met l metallic and could spark if heated in a microwave. there's been lots of job growth in the bay area and some categories here. big paying tech jobs and service jobs. >> people are flocking here. >> but there are few that are flocking here for the low-paying jobs, kris. it's turning out to be a problem. a new report says low-paying jobs are going unfilled because companies simply cannot find the people in the bay area to fill them. in fact, california as a state has the third fastest growth in low-paying jobs, according to a study a liberal leaning think

tank. texas and florida are number one and two and, then, again, it costs less to live in texas and florida. we'll get the latest unemployment nebs from the labor department starting tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. unemployment in the nation close to fall employment. you don't have to get to zero before economists say everyone who wants a job has a job. but 4.9 is nationwide average. some regions are not doing that well. even california is not doing as well as 4.9 when you take in all of california. today is the day that apple really finds out who its friends are. we expect a number of high-tech firms to file friend of the court brief in support of the cupertino company. apple, of course, resisting a court ord oer to open an iphone used by one of the san bernardino shooters. these friends of the court briefing are sometimes referred to as amicus briefs. it means friend of the court. although some lawyers call it

astronaut mark kelly. scott thanked friends and family for their love and support. >> back here in our great country and back with all my family and friends. >> well, scientists plan to analyze the impact of a year in space by comparing the health of the twin brothers. we mentioned it was a lengthy space odyssey. one thing we do know is that scott kelly came back two inches taller than when he started. >> lucky. >> exactly. we're all going to space now, but that is only temporary until gravity, once again, starts to weigh him down. >> you know, as parents they say you're not supposed to compare your children, but in this instance, we can allow the comparison between the two. right? >> that's true. >> they're both high achievers, by the way and high growers. >> one more is two inches higher acheever now. >> i had a physic professor who said who done it?

gravity. mother nature on our radar. the start of a wet stretch here. >> we really do need this rain and it will be moving in over the next several days. we'll see it off and on and make plans to get outside and enjoy sunshine this weekend because it's just not geeg hoing to hap. a couple raindrops on the lens. we will see this wet weather off and on for the next several days and this is not really too impressive as we take a look at the radar. we are seeing some very light rain moving in. this is just getting us started and it's just enough to make those roads. and a reminder to grab the umbrella before you head out. in the rainline, this is a look at the futurecast. 10 this morning and we start to see that rain moving into san jose and parts of the south bay and east bay and also stretching across the peninsula while the north bay kind of takes a break for now. into the early afternoon hours, we'll start to see much of this rain clearing off to the east and we'll be left with cloudy skies and some cooler temperatures as we go through

the day. the futurecast for tomorrow shows that we'll start out with some rain and it will be very hit or miss, once again. then getting heavier as we go into the evening. it continues into the start of the day on saturday and the next storm system arrives and gives us a boost and kick off strong winds and heavy rain and also the potential of some thunderstorms late saturday night. and then we'll see that continuing into sunday. the rain futurecast shows that we will have a potential over the next four days to get anywhere from 1 1/2 to over 2 inches of rain and some spots that get higher amounts of rain. over 1/2 inches. if you are planning to go to the sierra this weekend, it starts off as rain. now is the time to get over there and make sure you have those tire chains. they will be needed as you go through the weekend. once this rain changes over to snow, by saturday night, we'll see that snow continuing all next week and there is the potential of one to three feet of snow above 7,000 feet.

our temperatures will be dropping, as well. as we head into sunday, it will still be raining and temperatures only reaching into the upper 50s and we'll see more rain next week. let's see how it looks on the bay bridge if you're heading out, mike gives you a view. >> karia misty view over here but over the last 90 seconds, well t got clearer pap smooth drive west across that flat section, over across towards the toll plaza tunnel. a nice, easy drive right now. what i was thinking about, also, look at the map. the traffic flow on the maze and little slowing for the richmond area and nothing big. that mist continues to travel across the bay and dampening those roadways and use caution, folks, if you come across slicker roadways and lower those speeds. lower drive south for hayward past union city and south of here, not a concern. we want to show that san mateo bridge itself. that's over there. also a mist traveling across, as well. and then things start to clear, again. the peninsula side sees more traffic flow and look at palo

==sam/vo== google is joing the fig againsthe dangeus zika virus. just hourago -he tech gia announced it's giving unif new this morning google is joining the fight against the dangerous zika virus. giving unicef a $1 million grant. go towards mosquito and awareness campaign through youtube. google says it's also going to map the spread of the virus and

identify areas of potential outbreaks. google's announcement comes one day after health officials confirm the first case of the zika virus here in the bay area. officials with napa county say a pregnant woman tested positive for the virus. she recently traveled home from central america where she likely contracted the virus. health officials say she's no longer showing symptoms and they don't think the virus is spreading here. now, the zika virus is thought to be especially dangerous for pregnant women and could cause a rare birth defect where infants are born with an abnormally small head and underdeveloped brain. 6:25 and a look at politics now. decision 2016. a lot of buzz this morning surrounding not one of the presidential candidates, but a former presidential hopeful. >> now we're talking about mitt romney who is expected to criticize the gop's frontrunner donald trump. "today in the bay" trace pots is live in washington, d.c., and, tracie, that speech is expected in two hours as some of the

words we expect who hear unlike the words that we heard when mitt romney was actually running for president. >> exactly. this is an advance copy of that speech. and mitt romney is expected to call donald trump a phono, a fraud and i'm quoting here, he's playing the american public for suckers and then we've also heard from donald trump this morning on "today" show. heed romney who is making another desperate move as he tweeted earlier today after failing to win the presidency himself. trump says that romney begged for his endorsement four years akn ago. looks like he's not going to get it back. by the way, ben carson will not at that debate he's announced. he's doing a speech here in washington tomorrow raising speculation about whether or not he may be dropping out of the race. previously he said that he was not yet ready to quit, but now his campaign manager says he won't have any public events after that speech tomorrow.

all right. the first sighting of rain. good morning. thank you if joining us on this thursday morning, i'm sam brock. >> i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia-cannon. live at the bay bridge right now and the rain is falling over parts of the bay area this morning. let's get right to the forecast with ari. >> good morning, sorry, sam and kris. we will start out with some light rain that will start to move into parts of the bay area this morning. and it hasn't been very widespread. we haven't seen any really heavy rain, but just enough to be a reminder that you need the umbrella today. and our temperatures now are starting out in the upper 50s, heading into the 60s this afternoon. it will be much cooler a few drops here and there throughout

the morning and early afternoon. and some light rain also in the south bay that may get here in the next few minutes. if you're about to head out the door in the south bay, mike has a look at traffic with what's happening out there. >> slowing right now 101. northbound 101 at 680 and look at 680 that is clear. let's look at your map. 101 typically shows the slow down and little more significant as well as 87 and 85. we haven't seen this much slowing and be prepared. also a minor crash west 237 and heading over in towards sunnyvale. keep that in mind. more detail up. the rest of the bay moves pretty well. eastbound 24 at the caldecott and a stall in the slow lane. countercommute and the north bay will get a look at san rafael southbound 101 moves well. more company and from time to time kari has talked about. the drizzle around the bay and we'll track that, as well. back to you. great way to track conditions on the road and on

the radar. our nbc bay area app. click on the weather tab and find our live satellite radar to see what's headed your way. an update now to breaking news that we have been tracking since we first came on air at 4:30 this morning. take a look at this. aot chaotic scene in walnut cre as it plies into a two-story building landing on its roof and trapping two people inside. >> it happened on boulevard circle and stephanie chuang has been there all morning long and, s steph, it appears the car flew off the freeway. >> it does, sam and kris. flying off 400 to 500 feet off the highway here by the 680/24 interchange. so much force it went over a fence and split a tree. there are branches oout there in the debris pile where the car basically dragged all that stuff over here landing 50 feet inside where that yoga studio there, according to the building owner.

crews are waiting for a biohazard team to also get here. firefighters and first respaupders rushed to get the people out of the car. one of whom suffered a broken neck after their head hit or went through the windshield. this involved a male driver and a female passenger. the damage to the building was so bad, it delayed the ability to rescue those two people trapped inside. >> secure the building to make sure it was safe for us to go therein and bring the extrication tools and the vehicle was upside down and deal with twos that had major injuries. >> here's the video of the bmw on the tow truck. as for what led up to this, the chp was not involved with any chase of the bmw, but lafayette police said it did have a chase around 11:30 last night and that ended after a traffic collision. we have not confirmed it is the same. that is a possibility. the crews will be here for eight

hours and put temporary steel beams in there and hold the building up. to put this in perspective for you. in 32 years of the business, he's never seen a crash this bad seen people survive and be able to the scene alive. pretty incredible here. live in walnut creek this morning, stephanie chuang "today in the bay." more breaking news, an active scene in livermore where police aring a deadly shooting that happened in the last four hours. bob re dedell at the scene h some kind of conferenrontation happened near the 3:00 hour, bob, right near the police station. >> we're trying to get details on what transpired here around 3:00 this morning, sam and kris. we spoke with the livermore fire department for the report of an active shooter which is with you're looking at right now. this is around 3:00 this morning as i mentioned. apartments on the one side and the back entrance to the police

department and the civic center on the other side and where this took place is in the middle of the street where you see the squad cars. the firefighter tells us that about ten minutes later after they were put on stand by, police told them to stand down. that they weren't needed any more. the understanding being that the subject was dead. livermore police won't tell us much right now except for that no officer os were hurt and that there was a shooting. what is not clear, is whether police shot this person or if this person shot himself. lpd, livermore police expect to be out here for another two to three hours. reporting live here in livermore, bob edell, "today in the bay." >> we'll check back in with steph and bob on these breaking news stories coming up at 6:56. meantime, any time of day follow our digital platforms twitter, facebook, instagram find all the updates. an archbishop wrestler has been diagnosed with a highly contagious and common virus

known as mat herpes. >> he believes that he contracted that virus during a wrestling match. now he and his family are just trying to get the state championships postponed. they're hoping that south bay schools will consider establishing better protocols to stop the spread of infectious diseases. he says that some students wrestle even when they're infected and they know it and try to hide it so they can compete. >> i don't want other kids to get this. it's really not worth it for anyone else to have this. it's totally preventable. >> the virus is spread by skin-to-skin contact and threw saliva and once you get it you have it for life. back in court. the man accused of killing his girlfriend on valentine's day expected to enter a plea later this morning. police arrested esmid pedraza after they found the body of stacey aguilar. she disappeared after attending a house party in hayward.

pedraza's accomplice should be in court, as well. happening today, students at one peninsula school will get some emotion life lessons and lesson os in sportsmanship from someone who almost died in a beating. brian stow survived after being beaten into a coma outside dodger stadium five years ago and he was left with permanent injuries. but, so has battled back in his long recovery and today he will speak with ninth and tenth graders in san mateo, so we'll talk about the potential life-long impact of bullying and from being a bully. >> a period of time he could not speak and now he's speaking to kids, pretty amazing story. remember valentine? of course, a new home for that very horse. >> look at him. the video posted on facebook showing the colts recovery that the horse has been adopted by a woman who lives near chico. in this picture you see that valentine who was found on valentine's day was found at the bottom of a ravine.

he was stuck in fremont. he had a broken pelvis and has been getting treatment at uc davis. when his rehab is complete, valentine will live on a farm with other horses. a go-fund me page raised more than $20,000 for that colt's care. >> our hearts are bursting for valentine who is doing well, again. the skies are going to be bursting later this weekend, but some starting rain a little bit today. ierologist kari hall joining us now with a look at today's microclimate forecast. >> good morning, sam and kris. light sprinkles across parts of bay area. the first of many systems moving in and bringing in wet weather over the next several days. we are track some rain as it continues to move from saratoga and now about to enter san jose and moving up towards milpitas and also farther off towards the north some light rain as you go towards livermore and extends up towards 580. once again, just enough to make the roads wet and then as we go through the rest of the morning, we'll see this off and on. and the timeline for this, we'll

have some spotty light rain with breezy winds throughout the morning and early afternoon. the next round of rain arrives tomorrow with showers and mainly light showers and a stronger storm system moving in on saturday. we'll bring in the potential for heavy rain, strong winds and maybe even some thunderstorms. we'll be tracking all of that and i'll have details and another look at the weekend forecast coming up. let's get an update on what's happening now as you head across the east bay now with mike. >> kari, san lorenzo where we're looking at this 580 and all in this same area. you see traffic flow, as well. this is the onramp. no problems just the metering lights. we'll look at your map in that same vicinity and slowing south of there through hayward for the nimitz freeway and getting across the san mateo bridge a little slow towards the toll plaza. metering lights are on and that is one issue you with and over here this is tonight. the warriors playing at home and post-work traffic quite a crowd all the time. a smooth drive 101 northbound simmering down as far as the

shed new light on the world's biggest airplane mystery. the disappearance of militia airlines flight 370 two years ago. family members of the victims are now calling for a full search of the coastline of an east african nation. australian official os now say debris that washed ashore in mozambique turned up in an area that matches the investigators' theories about where that plane might have ended up. appear to show a piece of a 777 boeing plane and flight 370 is the only such plane that is unaccounted for. it has 239 people onboard. b.a.r.t. police say an alert station agent helped nab two suspects in a series of bizarre thefts. two men seen here arrested for stealing catalytic converters. on tuesday morning a station agent noticed a man acting suspiciously at the union city b.a.r.t. station and the man removed something from underneath the parked car in the station's parking lot.

as the man drove away, the agency was watching. >> the station agent who was able to provide a description of the vehicle and the suspect for responding officers. is he was also able to provide the license plate of the suspect vehicle. >> well, police track down the car, three catalytic converters were found inside. the driver and the passenger were both arrested. watch out for those popular facebook quizzes if you have ever taken one. cybersecurity experts are calling click. >> in some cases the hackers are trying to get you to give your personal inform online. they'll use the quizes to decide malicious links, maybe even hijack your facebook account. they can even trick people into downloading malware. >> the more they know about you, the more ways they can trick you into doing something like clicking on a link that you should not get. >> another thing, i probably shouldn't take thes any more. my computer or ophone might

so, if one day it turns out i have something valuable. >> it will be sold at auction. >> someone gets to be rich. >> well, kari, we're looking at that rain and you say this one is just the snack. >> yes, it is. we start out with some light rain. we're going to ease into the rain this weekend. let's not just start out with some heavy downpours. so, we see some cloudy skies as we get a look now at the bay bridge and the start of the day looks pretty nice, but then you'll just want to make sure you have the umbrella just in case we see some of the spotty showers moving through and a look now at the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen. you can see how cool it will be and how wet it will be over the next several days. so, we're frin a shift in this pattern as we start to see the moisture streaming in, we will still have some rain off and on throughout the morning. right now, the rain is just moving through parts of the south bay. and towards the east bay. so, nothing really impressive at this point.

we will see this continuing to move through. here's a look at the timeline. at lunchtime, looks like the north bay is pretty much clear and also san francisco, but the rest oof the bay area, we'll still have a chance of some rain moving through. very hit or miss as we go through the afternoon with mostly cloudy skies. and temperatures today will be topping out in the mid up toer 60s. not a widerange in temperatures from the north to the south bay to the coast of inland areas. and then as we go into tomorrow, here's a look at the timeline of what you can expect there as far as the rain that will be scattered throughout the morning and afternoon. some of the heavier rain moving in late friday night and then we'll have another system moving in on sunday that will bring in the potential for the strongest storms we've seen in quite a while. some strong winds and may dwus up to 50 miles an hour. along with some thunderstorms. so, you'll want to keep checking back in here to get updates on what's happening with the weather and the damage it may cause. the concern of flooding with that heavy rain saturday night. mainly some street flooding and

then some debris flow and mudslides and some of those areaser to the north where we had those wildfires. as far as the four-day rain outlook there may be some spots getting a little bit more within the next four days. a look at the weekend forecast as make plans and i'm making plans to stay inside and think it will be a movie weekend, maybe some cleaning, too. upper 50z s and cool with the rn falling off and on all weekend long. let's get an update on what is happening on the roadways with mike. >> torrential mist right on the lens right there. use the windshield wipers and see some of the folks doing that. the issue is we haven't had rain for a while and bring that grease and oil up. look at the bay bridge, we did have some slowing westbound for about 20 minutes i've been watching and things look a little slower than you might expect or want across treasure island tunnel. no incidents reported and i did

see a cluster of slower moving vehicles and things are smoothing out now. overall, this is a pretty pleasant commute and mist you saw that on the golden gate bridge camera and also seen it come across the san mateo bridge and a disabled vehicle or a fender bender. we're not sure over there off the dublin grade. meanwhile, the south bay shows a slight build for the northbound direction. kind of back on schedule and maybe a little early for this back to you. >> all right, thank you very much, mike. bay area babysitter is under arrest this morning facing child abuse charges and she advertised herself on that popular babysitting website so many of ous use. care.com. now police are looking to see if there are more possible victims. mariah gonzales was arrested for allegedly abusing 13-month-old baby under her care in livermore. police say their investigation began in early february. so far they're not releasing a lot of details surrounding that

reportedly going more than 100 miles an hour. the damage to the building was so bad they took in extrication tools to cut off the doors and get the male driver and the female passenger out. one reportedly suffered a broken neck when his or her head hit and went through the windshield. crews will be here for at least another eight hours. live here in walnut creek, stephanie chuang, "today in the bay." and i'm bob redell live here in the east bay where one person has been shot and killed near livermore police headquarters. this happened down there in the middle of pacifica avenue. the fire department tells us that they were put on standby for a call of an active shooter. this was around 3:00 this morning and the first report to us was that of an officer-involved shooting. police are not saying much. they will only confirm that none of their officer os were hurt and that there was a shooting. based on our conversation with the fire department, we know that one person is dead and it's not clear who this person was
