=sam/toss= we haveeam cerage for youthis m. with flooded roadways after a ari-- dose of rain over the weekend. >> team coverage for you over the weekend and start with meteorologist kari hall tracking the radar. when is the next round of rain coming through? >> we expect it to come through in the next several hours. as if the system is winding down. we still have rain around fremont and san jose and spotty, light rain else where. as we open up the picture and look just off shore you can see there is another swirl of clouds just off shore that may get this activity ramping up, again, within the next few hours. so, i'll be watching out for that. as we take a look at all of our microclimates, our temperatures now dropped back into the low 50s and maybe a few thunderstorms this morning, but clearing out as we go into this afternoon. i'll detail that and what to expect as we go into the next

several days coming up. but a look at traffic now, especially in the tri-valley, aps 's mike. >> get a look at exactly that else where. this is one of the else where where there are scattered showers. look at the standing water and spinouts. and we'll look over to the maps and a lot of slowing west 580 over towards greenville and the start of the express lane and the dublin interchange can't make out the green sensors because of the green highlighting. all over the bay, wet, sloppy roadways. that will be a factor. a tree down on highway 92, we'll talk about that more cuts off 280 from the half moon bay area and south of here. bob redell is out there giving osgood example of what is going on with the wet roads. bob? >> well, good morning to you, mike. this is just one example. unfortunatel ll ll ll lly not t scenes like this. the alameda is shut down. i don't know if you can see the cones in the darkness. but that flooding of this off

ramp extends back a good 50 yards and to the left here is the big part of it. and what the issue is we believe a clogged drain because about another 50 yards behind our camera position is a road crew with a pump and they've clearly been out here for a long time. this used to be much worse. what i am getting at, it is getting better. reopen in time for the morning commute and looks like it will be certainly another hour or two but it is something that the work crew is aware of. i want to show you some video taken earlier this morning in san mateo county. full closure of highway 92, this is just east of highway 35. this is up there in the hills. this is because of a tree that is down and because of the severity of the situation, chp has issued a sig alert, mike. but they expect that sig alert to be lifted within the next half hour. >> thank you very much, bob. bob will be out there all morning long.

th> a pacifica apartment building on the verge of falling ty sa cliff and into the ocean will be demolished tomorrow. today a fence will go around the complex to keep people away. the area is just not safe. tion 0-unit building was deemed uninhabitable back in 2010 after storms chips away at the cliff. city leaders say they're taking ibilon and demolishing the it, ding now because the owner has failed to do so. >> i wish the private property owner had take on the usanonsibility to demolish the building and take care of it but we are where we are. >> it will cost the city $200,000, but the city hopes to get that money back from the eatperty owner. stangh, that property owner has filed for bankruptcy. keep track of the weather by downloading the nbc bay area app. ots==ppler radar is constantly updating so you know where the p==rm is and where it is going next. investigators right now looking into the death of a man struck by a cal train in the

south bay. e tpened just before 8:00 last night between the santa clara s wereain station and that train was heading southbound carrying about 100 passengers when it struck the man. all cal trains were rerouted to a single track around that scene. trains right now are running normally, but police have not released the man's identity or much else about that case. new details now on friday's aviely crash in san jose. we can tell you a man is now behind bars charged with hit and run. hreece arrested javier friday afternoon after he fled the y a e of this crash, which hand at camden and lee avenues about 3:00 in the morning on friday. investigators say a truck and an suv collided scattering debris across both roadways. the truck driver was pronounced dead just after police arrived. well, we got a lot to talk about when it comes to our weather. where do we even start right now? certainly, the rain totals, kari. still tracking more rain coming in. >> yes, it's hard to believe

that over the weekend, there were, some spots in the santa cruz mountains that had 10 inches of rain. and we've had several inches else where across the bay area with some very strong wind gusts and we're still looking at some of the heavier downpours moving across parts of morgan hill up towards 101 to san jose and then we still will have more of this moving through in the next couple of hours and heavy snow coming down now in the sierra. in the timeline, what we expect, this last blast of rain will move through this morning with a few thunderstorms possible. will be windy and cooler as we go through the day with skies clearing and the next round of rain arrives on wednesday. not much of break before we see more wet weather moving in. i'll detail what to expect over the next several days and let's get an update on the road conditions from mike. >> a big dpreen map. green means the highlighting shows you where it will be wet. you can't see the sensors. green all over the bay. for the most part slowing into the altamont pass and scattered

central america. health officials say she's not showing any symptoms of the infection at this time. and decision 2016 now. primaries in four states, including michigan are on tap for tomorrow and last night a city hit hard by a water crisis saw both democratic contenders trade jabs in their latest debate. bernie sanders and hillary clinton tackled tough questions in flint. the city has been devastated by massive job losses in the auto industry. the presidential candidates took time to address both issues last night, even calling for the governor of michigan to resign. >> people are not paying a water bill for poison water. >> i voted to save the auto industry. he voted against the money saving the auto industry. >> on the gop side, the latest numbers show donald trump with a lead in michigan. among democrats, hillary clinton leads sanders by a large margin and other states voting tomorrow

weather pattern starting to ramp up as we go into the next few days. as this system winds down, we'll take a little bit of a break and then another one for the middle of the workweek. live look outside right now at the bay bridge. we get the day started with some breezy winds and some breaks in some of those showers. as the seven-day forecast comes up at the bottom of the screen, you'll see a lot of raindrops there because we will, once again, have several more systems moving through. now, looking at some of the rain that continues to move, giving us a little bit of a break this morning around fremont and san jose, as well as morgan hill. some of the rain now just moving over the hill there's and up over 880 as you go up over milpitas. watch out for wet spots on the road. looking at the bigger picture, swirl of clouds still off shore and this is the upper level low that will bring in a little bit more energy and could also spark off a few thunderstorms as this system wraps up and then finally moves off to the east. the rain timeline, we start tasee it beginning to increase in coverage as we go through

9:00 this morning. right in time for many people to get out there on the roads during that morning commute. and then we see the activity tapering off and then moving off to the east by about 1 1:00 this morning, but still some scattered showers through at least early afternoon and shows one last push later on today as some spots do get some clearing. an additional quarter inch of rain will be possible, maybe a little bit higher in some spots. high temperatures today will be in the 50s, upper 50s to lower 60s. i should say 60 degrees up in brentwood and up to 60 degrees in san ramon and 60 degrees today and it will stay windy as we look at this onshore rush of wind. look at half moon bay this afternoon. wind speeds sustained at 41 miles an hour and it could even see some higher gusts at that point. and then it doesn't really relax tonight on the back side of that area of low pressure. so, it not only feels much cooler, but it will be very windy through at least later tonight.

we'll be keeping you up to date on that and take a look at another view of the forecast coming up in a few minutes and let's get a look at what's happening in the south bay with mike. >> you see sloppy roadways and water and glow on the lens and on the roadway, slicker conditions. tougher as far as that traction goes. flooding closes the off ramp at the alameda from 880 and bob redell is there and right now fremont, as well. as kari said, getting a break from the rain on her radar but her radar leaves this on the roadway. wet roads here, again. the truck scale and glow as folks head south down into the south bay. on the map, the green area, which is pretty much all over the east bay. the peninsula gets a little break north of 92 as far as soggy roadways and still have damp and wet roadways and watch for that. over towards greenville for the crash and 92 over at half moon bay a try down across that. cuts off the half moon bay area from 280. back to you. >> thank you very much, mike. supposed to change everything.

last october, but it appears many delayed implementing the technology to prevent confusion in the checkout line. and the snack business that used to be part of kraft is launching its first new product line in years. good thins are crackers consumers growing interest in unconventional ingredients. snacking is a $6.2 billion business and 90% of consumers say that they snack multiple times a day. sam and kris, back over to you. >> we're not naming names here, landon. >> isn't that supposed to be healthier? >> potato chips. >> i just eat it all day. >> thank you, landon. well, uber is under the microscope this time for reported number of cases of sexual assaults by its drivers. in response to a buzz feed investigation, the company said that riders have reported five rapes and 170 sexual assaults. but according to buzz feed, uber

employees came forward with much higher numbers in the thousands. uber is being accused of passing along only some of the reports of sexual assault to police or the media. uber says many of the claims were not legitimate and that when searching complaints in its system, the word rape could be a typo. happening today in the north bay, san rafael looking into tightening its smoking rules in downtown and other public places. the city council there will take on that issue during a meeting later today. right now people can smoke while passing through the downtown area. but city leaders hoping to put an end to that, as well. the city council is going to be considering regulating ecigarettes in public places. bicyclists lose access to the span of the bay bridge. look at the toll plaza. the reason for the closure has more to do with the demolition of the old span. for the next few weeks, cal trans crews will be doing a lot of torch cutting and steel

burning to knock down a section of the bridge. so, as a safety precaution, the bike path on the new span will be closed until april 1st. well, last week a south bay bus worker was recognized for helping to save the life of a choking bus passenger. >> that cpr training coming in handy. santa clara vta last thursday honored thomas demings. he performed the heimlich maneuver on a female passenger who was choking on his bus in san jose. the general manager award for doing work babove and beyond th call of duty. coming up, nancy reagan's legacy and her life on film in the white house and at president reagan's side until the very end. we'll take a look back. and happening now, ework crews are fanned out around the bay area dealing with problems from this latest storm. our bob redell is monitoring a ramp closure. our news team is also listening to scanners for other

a very busy weekend on the weather front. we're not out on the woods just yet. >> no, we are not. in fact, high surf will impact in pacifica. >> it is still going to be very choppy out there. some large waves. up to 20 feet today and also the risk of some rip currents as we see our weather pattern staying very active today. this continues until 10:00 tomorrow morning. and we will continue to have additional rainfall over the next several days as the atmosphere river lines up

bringing in more low pressure systems into the bay area and also more rain per hour and some upper level winds that will be ideal for heavy rain and snow. let's get an update on what's happening now as you head out across those bridges with mike. >> the winds aren't so bad, not like they were last week, but still track that. meanwhile, the wet conditions. look at the san mateo bridge from the toll plaza looking over towards the western side of the peninsula. you can see the high rise and the tarp that we use to judge winds. and we'll look at the map and overall the road weather index we show you a green map. we've taken that away. mostly green sensors but still watching the second of two trees down. and the second one just off 280 still blocked here towards skyline. we have a crew heading out there to check things out. back to you. >> we'll be in touch with them, thank you, mike. another piece of the malaysia airlines flight that disappeared two years ago might have turned up. here it is, a man who found a wing fragment last year on the

indian ocean said he spotted it nat far from his original discovery. if confirmed, this is the only second piece of wreckage to turn up. another small, possible third piece turned up last week hundreds of miles away on the coast of africa. flight mh-370 disappeared two years ago tomorrow on a flight from malaysimalaysia's capital china. all 239 people onboard are believed to be dead. tributes are pouring in for first lady nancy reagan. a live look at the building in washington, d.c. where flags are at half staff. mrs. reagan died yesterday of congestive heart failure. america has lost one of the truly great first ladies. the reverend billy graham says his friendship of more than 50 years was greatly valued and republicans on the campaign trail also eulogized her. >> i have been invited to speak at the reagan library, which was an incredible honor for me, because i grew up and i am a
