this morning, the window wide open for rain. you see a couple sprirkles on the lens there outside the golden gate bridge heading out the door. >> you're seeing over my shoulder, the radar showing light to moderate rain in san francisco following you to the north bay in parts of the tri-valley this morning and probably a few showers in the south bay and rain at times in the morning heading to noon and north and temperatures to mid to upper 60s. get ready for an atmospheric boost and the check of your morning commute. >> getting blurry toward emeryville and treasure island and beautiful tower. moisture in the air is a factor. sprinkles already hitting the rodeway inn golden gate bridge north of the roadway, easy flow of traffic. a tiny build westbound, nothing

unusual, a reminder that the roadway has reopened after the train derailment yesterday. more in a couple seconds but now to breaking news. breaking news out of seattle after a natural gas explosion, happened at 1:00. firefighters called with reports of a gas leak when the explosion happened. all the firefighters' injuries are minor including according to someone who lived nearby, the blast flattened three structu structures, we still don't know if any was inside at that time. we continue to follow the breaking news and developments as soon as we get them. >> back at home now. progress being made nearly 36 hours after a train derailed at fremont this morning, all train services back to normal. >> stephanie is back where the first ace commuter train is headed. >> a nerve racking ride for a

lot of passengers. >> reporter: absolutely. the first of the westbound trains should be coming here in about 30 minutes. the sign on the platform says it is on time and warned of delays because trains will run slower in that derailment area maybe 10-15 miles an hour in the usually 40 miles an hour zone. it did reopen last night but union pacific crews are still working the tracks today and a spokesperson tells us it's this morning union pacific will be running an inspection vehicle ahead of all the trains to make sure the tracks are good to go. and union pacific says a mudslide did cause that dera derailment and issues could pop up again depending on weather. >> we are well into the landslide season and looking at a year we could see failures in march if the neck round of

back. >> reporter: he did. it appears the two suspects were chased off as a result. it happened not far from the police headquarters. a few miles away, not far from the interchange with 280 and 87, around 7:00 last night. these two men entered sunny's quick stop on locus street. one of them fired his gun at the clerk and hit him in the arm. the police said he began swi swinging a baseball bat at the two suspects and both took off with whatever they stole from the store. police in san jose looking for those two men. live outside police headquarters, bob redell in the bay. some disturbing statistics out of berkeley this morning. last month, there were four sexual assaults against women in the city and so far no arrests.

interchange there around san jose, scattered showers, not a lot of rain and see enough to wet the pavement in the morning and most showers moving off the north bay to the afternoon. high 60s in san jose and low 60s in san francisco. things are going to get a lot wetter come tomorrow and friday as the moisture surge with the atmospheric river gets involved and raise the rain rates thursday and friday especially north bay. you will see the biggest punch in the system thursday and friday and friday around midday, a lot of rain coming down and rain totals over the next seven day, north bay watch out, 3-5 inches of rain expected there north of the golden gate through monday. needless to say if you have weekend plan, saturday, scattered showers and more rain sunday to monday. at this point, the forecast looks very wet, stormy all the way through monday. stay tuned.
