>> you have your spring colors on. >> i have my spring colors on. i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia-cannon. let's get a look at this forecast and see if this bright yellow is appropriate for today. >> you found how warm it was yesterday, kr ay s. we'll still have the warm weather and bring you down a few degrees and that fog is back this morning and that is another factor in keeping those temperatures down, especially in san francisco. it's now 48 degrees in the north bay while we have low 50s across the rest of the bay area and a high today of 66 degrees can be expected in san francisco and 71 degrees in the peninsula and the south bay today up to 74 degrees. so, i'll show you the rest of the microclimate forecast, including some rain by the end of the weekend. that's coming up in a few minutes, but, mike, you already have a problem on the roads. >> kari, first of all, looking at that fog you are talk about. so far traffic is just above the traffic flow on the bay bridge. look at the headlights and talk about you heading out of san

francisco on the lower deck at that point and earlier crash. right at treasure island, the off ramp there you may see some flashing lights. just a heads up for you folks does not show any slowing on your sensors. we'll see how things develop. back tayou. >> mike, thank you. a developing story right now. police are investigating an early morning shooting in the heart of san francisco's mission district. this happened steps from the mission street b.a.r.t. station at 16th street. a man was shot at 2:00 a.m. now, we spoke to police a short time ago and they said the victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries but right now they are not saying much about what happened. that restaurant is two store fronts over from an entryway leading to underground b.a.r.t. platforms. for the second morning in a row b.a.r.t. riders will have to use a bus and looks like the delays and closures could stay

that way for quite some time. >> pete joins us now from the north concord station and, pete, b.a.r.t. officials say it could be months before things get back to normal. >> yes, guys. this could take months. as we're talking right now, folks hopping off of that bus from pittsburgh bay point as a part of that bus bridge that is going to be in place while b.a.r.t. takes care of these repairs. this dates back to wednesday when they say a power surge, this electrical shock along the track damaged 50 cars. that is on top ofthal the 80s c currently in repair. really this is an issue of an aging infrastructure. a lot of cars date back to the 1970s. that's why it's difficult tafind parts for these repairs and some repairs could take several months to get. >> they cost about $1,000 when we get them and not everybody makes them. we're reaching out to our

suppliers and supply chains to try to expedite delavery of this part. >> a multi-billion dollar bond is expected to go on the november ballot, but it still needs to be approved by b.a.r.t.'s board of directors. but a bus bridge taking folks from pittsburg bay point or folks have the option of driving just directly to the station. pete suratos, "today in the bay." a lot of commuters are frustrated with those b.a.r.t. delays and have taken to social media to make their voices heard. here's just one of the comments. this one coming with some s sarcasm. b.a.r.t. is experiencing delays and freeways are running like clockwork. we are staying on top of this one on air and online. check out our twitter and facebook pages to keep up with the b.a.r.t. delays and traffic

conditions as they change and also download our nbc bay area app. a san jose track coach behind bars this morning accused of having sex with two students. this is the suspect. he worked as an assistant track coach at mt. pleasant high school. police say that the school called them monday about these alleged relationships. after interviewing garcia and both victims, police arrested garcia. >> it makes my stomach hurt. you hear more and more stories like this. >> and equally disturbing, this is the second arrest in east side union high school district in just the last two months over very similar allegations. back in february, police arrested jose gonzalez. he was the intern vice principal. gonzalez is accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student. let's check in with meteorologist kari hall. the formal start to spring is a

couple days away still. >> it starts tomorrow at 9:30 in the evening and then sunday is our first full day and we'll welcome in some spring showers. low clouds and fog in some spots. 53 degrees in oakland and 52 degrees now in san francisco. looking at those highs today, another warm one, but not as warm as yesterday. we're up to 65 degrees in san mateo. los gatos 69 degrees and also some upper of 60s to low 70s an concord o73 in dublin. we'll take a look at that weekend forecast and i'll detail the rain coming up. let's get an update on what is happening on othose roadways with mike. >> same shot of the bay bridge. you see less of it visible and those clouds sinking down. eastbound, i'll give you the update for that map and looking at that direction from san francisco towards treasure island. one lane is going to be blocked

2014 to save money. a convicted felon faces the prospect of more prison time after police say he led officers on a chase through antioch. >> officers were trying to pull culverson over yesterday morning for a traffic violation. he took off first in his car and then on foot. after officers arrested him, they searched his home. that is where investigators said they found narcotics, cash and ammunition. police also say culverson was previously arrested two weeks prior for being a convicted felon with a firearm. also new this morning, authorities in vallejo investigating the discovery of a bo body. meets the san pablo trail. police have not revealed if the body is that of a man or a woman's or any possible clues as to how it ended up there. more details on a stabbing spree at a uc mursaid campus that involves a young man from santa clara who the fbi says was

49 degrees in the north bay. 50 in the peninsula and we have 54 degrees in the south bay. a close look at the east bay now and castro valley it is 49 degrees. walnut creek 48 degrees and antioch starts out the day at 51 degrees. we will continue to see that fog and then some clouds throughout the morning through at least 11:00 in palo alto. lunchtime that sun breaks out. we'll have more sunshine all throughout the day and temperatures a touch cooler, thanks to a stronger onshore flow. we're still watching that area of low pressure, but it doesn't look as well defined as it did yesterday. it's starting to wrap up and it's weakening, as well. but it will be tapping into enough moisture to bring us scattered showers as we head into the day on sunday. but we still have that high pressure nearby. it will continue to move off to the east and it is allowing for, once again, a stronger onshore flow and then more morning clouds through the next couple of days. so, the futurecast shows that we will still have some partly

cloudy skies throughout the day tomorrow. it will stay dry. still a beautiful day. and then on sunday early in the morning the rain starts to move into the north bay and then starts to track farther to the south. but it will be a slow mover. not making it into san francisco into the afternoon to evening hours and then some light, scattered showers for the south bay late sunday night into early monday morning. rainfall totals at this point look like we could have less than 0.25 for most of the bay area, but then you head farther to the north of osan francisco and rainfall totals will be a little bit more. i'll have another look at this forecast and what else to expect as we head into next week. that's coming up. let's get a look at the san mateo bridge now with mike. >> we can see this bridge just fine here. the high rise and the flat section and may see some clouds drifting through and we'll track that for your drive. the big look shows you all over the bay and overnight road work and nothing of major concern and no clochers for the freeway. look out towards the tri-valley and more construction right there and foothills off of
