opposes one week of lessons in san ramon. those lessons would focus on lesbian, gay and transgender issues. they were set up at that school but some parents think it goes too far. one parent wrote on the petition page there is a time for everything in life. i don't think middle school is the right time to expose kids to all this stuff. now the school says parents do have the option to opt their children out of that lesson. the peninsulaple also revised the lessons and sent new ones out to parent for review. the school district is expected to meet with parents on this issue later this morning. a man accused of killing his girlfriend on valentine's day is set to enter a plea this morning. police arrested pedroeza after they discovered the body of aguilar. you might remember she liveind san jose but disappeared after attending a house fire in hayward. her accomplice is also scheduled

to be in court. developing right now in india, five construction company officials being detained. the company they were working for was building this new overpass in the city of kolkatta when that structure fell apart yesterday. 23 people died and rescuers are still looking for survivors. now the builders being detained is saying that the state is playing politics and that the collapse was "an act of god." new this morning, north korea has fired a short-range missile into the sea, this coming just hours after the u.s. and world leaders pledged. that missile was fire under to the water off the north korea east coast. according to that country. now, no further details provided. the missile just the latest in a series of weapons launches by the north recently. meantime, in d.c., a nuclear safety summit hosted by president obama continues today. governor brown is set to sign a bill raising the state

minimum wage to $15 an hour. he is expected to sign the bill today in l.a. this was approved yesterday by the state legislature. the minimum wage won't actually reach $15 until 2022. it will slowly increase to that amount. going to $10 and then on to 2015. businesses with 5 or fewer employees will have an extra year to comply. finally, fresh, local crab. people are gathering at fisherman's wharf in san francisco to celebrate today. having a crab feed and a lot to be grateful for. crab season had been delayed for four months because of harmful algae and now all clear and all that tasty crab is on store shelves. >> you wonder if they had four more months to grow. >> extra plumpy, extra juicy.

imeteorologist kari hall is here and a great day for a crab boil. >> crab boil sitting outside enjoying lunch or dinner. beautiful weather today. let's take a look outside in oakland and san francisco. 49 degrees in san jose. as we head into the day, we will see those temperatures topping out in the low 70s today. some mid-70s in spots like gilroy and san mateo 70 degrees and 63 degrees and we'll also see some 70s in the north bay, as well as oakland, pleasanton 73 degrees. we'll take a look at that weekend forecast and also the baseball forecast as we get ready for the giants and the a's and now let's head to the bay bridge with anthony. >> our camera is shaking around and kind of going in and out and we'll see if we can get it. hold on, bear with me. since that crash earlier we were talking about 280 southbound right at el monte road and a spinoff over on the shoulder.

san die, t same that's really how it happened. a horn blower cruise and event ship in san diego. the same company that operates out of san francisco. the ship crashed into the sea wall yesterday and back to the beginning of the video here. you can see. you don't have to be a captain to know that that ship is coming in way too fast and people start running out of the way. ann elderly woman with a cane ad somebody did help her and she is going to be okay. we have reports that just a few people were injured. want to clarify that this morning. >> too close for comfort there. >> exactly. now to an vinvestigative unt exclusive. helped the companies in the hopes of making california greener. >> a new revealing, kris, should not receive more funding because it pollutes too much.

yesterday morning when a tornado touched down in oklahoma. check out what the same storm system did to parts of alabama later. at least two tornadoes ripped through this town near huntsville. trees pulled out and power lines knocked down. now, the good news is that nobody was injured. that system is now moving over georgia. >> you see stuff like that and it is hard to believe that people were not injured there. meteorologist kari hall has a look at the weekend and maybe you have a honey do list going, kari. >> a great weekend to get out there and get yard work done and plant some new flowers. that's what i plan to do and spring cleaning, too. let's take a look at the temperatures now. 50 degrees in livermore and 50 in livermore and san francisco and 43 degrees now in santa rosa. we will have breezy winds today and rough conditions along the coast. we will have that risk of rip currents. so, be mindful of that if you're going to the beach today. winds coming in from the north and west at about 10 to 15 miles an hour. we will also have more clouds in the mix today.

let's break it down for berkeley. we will start out at 50 degrees at 6:00 and also at 7:00, 56 degrees at 10:00 and then by 11:00, we see clouds parting way to give us sunshine for the afternoon with highs today in the 60s and several spots with some 70s today. 73 in cupertino, san mateo 70 degrees and the embarcadero 72 degrees. seven-day forecast at the bottom of your screen you'll see the temperatures will hold steady and a slight chance of rain on monday and we'll talk about that in a second. in hillsburg 72 degrees and looking that giants forecast, we will have westerly winds for tonight as they face off with the a's. 54 degrees at first pitch and 53 degrees throughout the game. that breezy wind will make it feel chilly, though. make sure you have a nice, warm blanket. we will have gusty winds throughout the weekend and morning clouds and afternoon sunshine and then the slight chance of rain on monday. looks like, though, we'll have a

better chance of showers towards the end of the week. so, pretty much more dry weather. a look at the weekend forecast. highs reaching into the upper 60s to lower 70s. up to 73 degrees on saturday in the north bay and the same on sunday. in the peninsula upper 60s there and low 70s for saturday and sunday and overall very pleasant, very comfortable and no major changes until the start of next week. let's check in with anthony and see how the roads are moving. >> no major changes either. not much to talk about showing you if you're just joining us 270 southbound where there was a spinout and car kind of faces the wrong way on the shoulder. keep in mind you might see flashing lights. across the rest of the peninsula, things looking pritgy into san francisco and overnight construction wrapping up here and there and you'll note as few lanes restricted and very typical of the early morning. take it outside and show you what dublin looks like right now. you can see things moving along

police officers in ashland, oregon, resolved what you see here. a tricky situation and no lawn decoration. that's a real deer that was running through a backyard when it got stuck in a tree getting half of her body through. the hips, though, would not fit between the tree branches. police officers got creative and they used a car jack to push those branches farther apart and then the deer escaped unharmed. believe it or not, april fools, no, just regular april is already here. we'll talk about april fool's day in just a minute, but april also happens to be national autism awareness park. >> men low police officers will wear these pins throughout the month to show their support for the cause. affects every 1 in 110 children. makes the public more aware about the issues in the autism community. >> a big law coming up in april,
