>> this morning we are waking up to clouds. temperatures are right near 50 degrees. the clouds will be with us the first half of the day. we are going to start to see some sunshine. temperatures are going to warm inland quickly. low 70s today for the south bay. same for the east bay and the north bay. however, because of these clouds today, we are not going to warm that much at the beach. we're talking low 60s today for san francisco. but add 15 degrees and you're talking temperatures near 80. that's what we can expect towards wednesday and thursday. even farther inland locations. we could be close to 90 in some locations. we'll go overall in 15 minutes. >> thanks. after 14 months and 54 consecutive wins, the streak is over. the warriors lost a game at home for the first time since last january and came in dramatic fashion. the thriller unfolded in front

beating suspected car thief. this video sparked outrage and accusations of police brutality. while sources say last night's raid happened at a home linked to that same man. it's tied to a federal gun case. the raid comes after an overnight shooting in the area, but the fed's were preparing documents well before that. neighbors say they are stunned. >> i don't know what to think. i had a hunch it was something pretty major. >> guns or drugs i figured. >> an fbi spokesperson tells us at least one person was detained and more arrests are expected. a high profile visit in the bay area president bill clinton and his daughter chelsea yesterday were at berkeley where the former president delivered an important message. his focus was on innovative ideas to improve lives around the world. although this was not a campaign stop for hillary clinton, the

there the delegate could be contested. there are nine reported cases of the zika virus. so officials say there's no reason for the bay area public to be concerned of getting the virus here. a 3-year-old girl is recovering in the hospital this morning after a dog bit her in the face. the child now has two 1-inch cuts on her face after her uncle's bug doll attacked her. it happened yesterday morning. adults were at home she was concerned when she heard about this attack. >> i said, oh, my god, that's terrible. what triggered him to bite her,

i don't know. >> animal services say never leave your kid or your dog unsupervised. the dog is being quarantined for ten days. if they find it has a dangerous history, it could be euthanized. if not, it could be returned to the owner. a protest last night in san francisco against police brutali brutality. this group gathered at 24th and mission. police continue to target minorities in san francisco as well as across the country. a new twist in the san francisco police department texting scandal just one day after more officers were accused of sending racist texts. the public defender is now taking action. public defender sent a letter to the district attorney's office yesterday. after four were accused of exchanging texts. the public defender is asking for a background on those officers as well as any arrests the officers have been involved in over the last ten years.

welcome back. thanks for joining us. it's just about 7:10 on your saturday morning. cloudy skies over san jose. we're seeing this across the bay area this morning. anthony slaughter says clouds should lift and we'll have sunny skies on this saturday. this is a sketch of the man the sheriffs department is looking for following an assault and attempted robbery. two women tell deputies they were hiking in the cold canyon area last friday. they say a man approached them, flashed a handgun and forced them off the trail to a secluded area. they demanded money and ran off. a dog dumped in the oakland hills some say it's becoming a disturbing trend. now one woman is showing just how bad the problem has become and what she's doing to save these abandoned animals. >> reporter: she's rescued her fair share of dogs in oakland

hills. the latest is a visible injury on his left foot not slowing him down. >> he was hit by a car two days ago after being dumped. i'm not sure what's going to happen with him. >> reporter: in the past six years, she's rescued 25 dogs. five of them in the past three weeks. she takes them to shelters around the bay area. the grassy oakland hills have become a dumping ground when it comes to dogs and the consequences could be fatal. >> we have a pack of coyotes and mountain lion. >> these dogs and cats are reliant upon us for their care. >> the east bay spca is well aware of the problem. two dogs from the area were dropped off at the shelter yesterday. >> so we see lots of animals that tend to be dumped by people misguided. >> rescuing dogs is timely and costly, but she won't give up. >> you're just driving down the

more than 230,000 orders in less than two days. tesla's new model 3 is already a huge hit. a company spokesperson wouldn't say how many orders came from the u.s. alone, but we do know half of the orders were made before tesla's big unveil iing the car on thursday night. the most basic version of the model 3 starts at $35,000. it won't ship until late next year and the company's ceo is preparing for the big demand. elon musk tweeted "definitely going to need to rethink production planning." tesla's stock rose 5% yesterday. the bay area's famous for developing driverless cars, but are local roads slowing the pace of technology? we're talking potholes here. a report from the department of transportation warns about. just how bad our infrastructure could hurt self-driving cars. >> reporter: it's hard out there

google, which says its technology allows for testing even on spotty roads. but there are a lot of people waiting for a self-driving future and some of the roads out there are still bumpy. scot budman, nbc bay area news. let's get a check on our forecast with anthony slaughter. it's so weird to have you so far away. we were just seeing in that package about the smooth sailing. for us we have the same exact thing. we're talking smooth sailing the next couple days. no rain in the forecast. you'll notice the seven-day forecast pointing that out. we have showers by next weekend. let's go through the next seven days. we're basically near 50 degrees in most locations. we have mostly cloudy skies across the entire bay. and a little fog as well. later on this afternoon we'll see a nice warm-up for the north bay. staying cool the at a the

coastline. 62 in san francisco. 71 for the east bay. comfortable in the peninsula. nice and warm across the south bay. 73 degrees is expected this afternoon. now getting a look at the next couple days, 60s will hold on to the coastline. tomorrow the inner bay, you can see 60s return as we get that reenforced push of some marine air. then by monday, that's when we're going to start our warming trend. the central valley, they will be looking at 80s as we start off by monday. for us, the heat peaks on wednesday. get a glimpse at these temperatures. this is how warm we will be in the north bay. 87 degrees. even in san francisco on wednesday, 78 degrees and widespread 80s across most of the bay. some locations could get very close to 90 degrees. we're talking even places across

the trivalley. we have a rip current risk at those beaches today. it's going to be cool. we're talking low 60s. . not the best way to enjoy the beach. the waves are not going to be excess excessively, but we have a strong push out to the sea. now it's going to be dry and mild over the next couple days. it's not until friday when we get our storm system that pulls back towards the bay area. it's going to come into the south. by saturday it could kick up a few showers and may have a little rain as we head towards saturday. it doesn't look like the models are very confident. we'll continue to track that. it's still a week away. in the meantime, it's all about the dry weather and the heat. today, low 70s for our inland locations. tomorrow very similar weather. wake up to more fog. by monday, that's when we really start to track summer like temperatures. monday, mid-70s, but by tuesday,

so far no one has been identified as a suspect. an uproar in the east bay over a middle school event. it's an event some parents are calling unacceptable. their kids will be shown videos of the lgbt community that they claim are not age appropriate. today in the bay spoke with parents. >> we're going to boycott school for the week. we'll deal with it that way. >> 30 people attending a closed meeting with the school district superintendent today to voice concerns over a week long lgbt acceptance week in april u. >> why should they be denied the right to share a life together. >> the videos, the school's principal agreed to cut images of couples kissing and sharing intimate moments. note students can opt out. >> when you opt out, the kids feel the repurr cushions of that. they are not wearing the shirt or pin and believe something

angeles police departments say a knife found at simpson's estate is not the murder weapon. you may recall last month the lapd revealed they were testing a knife, a new piece of evidence in the case. a construction worker claims he found it ten years ago on the property while cruz demolished the home. however, investigators have ruled out the discovery saying forensic tests including dna and fingerprint tests indicate there's no evidence tying the knife to the murders. a jury found o.j. simpson not guilty of the murders of nicole brown and her friend ron goldman. panic-filled moments in san diego, a whale watching ship rammed straight into a dock. that accident happened on thursday at san diego. witnesses say the horn sounded frantically as you heard but the

that's the case across every single location in the bay. waking up to mostly cloudy skies. we'll see the fog and clouds here as we head towards the afternoon. it's going to be a nice day. 69 for the peninsula. 71 for the east bay. san francisco going to be cool. 62 degrees today. 73 for the north bay. the thing to note here today is it's going to be cool at the coast and we're talking about rip currents. inland locations, nice and sunny. mostly 70s down to the south bay. but the coastline will stay cool with 60s possible. now tomorrow we get a reenforcing push of that marine ocean air. so that's going to make for cooler conditions across the inner bay. 0s return to places like fremont. you'll stay right on the cusp of the 70 degree mark. we'll stay in the 70s.

we go widespread across the bay. that includes san francisco. we'll have 80s towards the middle part of the upcoming week. this is how warm we're headed for the north bay. 87 degrees there. san francisco up to 78 degrees by wednesday. same deal the rest of the bay. temperatures above average back into the 80s. to 90 degrees for places like the trivalley and south bay. it's going to be really toasty. you may be thinking about the beach. we have perfect beach weather expected then. not for today. want to stay out of the waters today. we have the rip current risk from the north bay down to monterey bay. the waves aren't going to be overly high. 3 to 6 feet, but we have the rip current risk in place. the weekend will be nice and dry. look at the time here. 4:00 a.m. on friday. a little moisture develop in the

it is 7:51. we're give iing you a foggy loot san francisco from emeriville and treasure island there. we're seeing fog across a lot of the bay. that should lift and give way to sunny skies today. 60s and 70s, a beautiful saturday. a construction can milestone for the future of bart station. the parking garage is almost complete. according to the transportation authority the final yards of concrete have been poured. the parking garage will have seven levels. 1200 parking spots.

it's located next to the future bart station which is still being built. it's east of the san jose market. the station is set to open next year. cal train is announcing its at more than 100% of capacity peak commute times. as a result, schedules and trains soon will be changing. you'll noticer trains as well as more cars that accommodate bicycles. and the schedules are being adjusted to give people more time to get on and off the trains. most of the major changes begin monday. berths landing is a lot different than san francisco. and the two cities have one thing in common. power. it impacts a lot of people. today in the bay explains. >> reporter: the town is hardly a town at all.

francisco, which is launching its new clean power program. >> for the first time san francisco residents and businesses can choose to have renewable power provided by the city. >> reporter: san francisco will become the third program in the state to allow customers to buy clean power provided by the city instead of pg&e. >> what we're doing is providing for a different choice on where the electricity comes from. >> reporter: rates will run a little less or more based on the percentage of clean power customers want. >> the goal is to have san francisco have the option for 100% renewable power. >> that was when it started on the hill up there. >> reporter: she remembers when the turbines first began to dot the hills 40 years ago. and though not much changes, it's smack dab in the middle of the winds of change. >> doesn't bother me. we have much more ahead on today in the bay.

welcome back. the annual prank backfired from google. it added a mike drop button in its g mail service. anyone who pressed it added a minuton dropping a microphone. it seemed like a harmless prank, but users became upset when they included it to important e-mails. google apologized and turned off the feature saying that due to a bug, the mike drop caused more headaches than laughs. we're truly sorry. you may have heard of drunk dialing, but how about drunk shopping? it's called sipping and clicking. tipsy people jump online to buy everything from dresses to lingerie and shoes.

orders are up 50% at 2:00 a.m. on saturdays compared to mondays. those late night shoppers spend about 30% more than other nights. >> it's all about that stress relief and anxiety. purchasing something just gives you that happy surge. it's something people are looking for the end of a long workweek. >> experts say to curb the urge, don't save your credit card number online. and finally one of the most highly anticipated reunions in history happened last night in west hollywood for the first time since july of '93. the origin members of guns and roses shared the same stage. hundreds of fans lined up last night for a concert many thought would never happen again. cell phones and cameras were off limits, so we don't have video from inside the show. celebrities and musicians also were in attendance. after the show the band announced more concert dates including a summer stadium tour. very cool.
