toddler. still no sign of ariana fitts. it's been nearly a week since the little girl's mother was found murdered in the park. more on the search for the little girl. >> reporter: good morning. it is a desperate search. everyday the 2-year-old remains missing pushes family and friends to reach out to the public to bring little arianna home. they last saw the lit girl in late february. her mother, 32-year-old nicole fitts last seen april 1st and then they discovered her body last friday. fitts used to go to the homeless program for families. they said fitts hasn't been there since october since she was able to get back on her feet, the good news but her death has left those who know

her well stunned. >> it was very emotional. the staff is still grieving. she was a lovely person and liked by everybody that work with her. >> it's critical the public keep an eye out for this little girl. we want to bring her home safe. >> reporter: police are keeping tight-lipped about the homicide investigation. she lived in san francisco with her mom and sometimes stayed with a babysitter in oakland and a search is being made across the area where they were known to visit. oakland and the south bay and santa cruz and there are reports they may have been in fresno just recently but not confirmed by san francisco police. it is a struggle for family and friends who plan to hold a memorial today at mclaren park and the search for arianna. today in the bay. in antioch, a man is in

critical condition after sideswiping a city councilman's vehicle and then slamming his car into a caltrans truck. took firefighters almost an hour with the jaws of life to pull him from the crushed car. it happened on the 8th street off-ramp. the city councilmember was not hurt and two people hospitalized and their condition not known. more on a deedly h ldeedly hit-and-run in san bruno. 27-year-old scott was hit by a car. he had autism and was in a special needs facility and he was hit by a dark colored mercedes benz. new news on a manhunt for 44-year-old brian hill wanted for attempted murder on a peace officer. con ta costa deputies tried to pull him over and he jumped in a silver prius.

when they tried to get him out of the car he later tried to run them over and that prius was later found in oakland. at noon on the local union hall on 18th street, police shot a man and he refused to drop a knife and came at officers fo e forcing them to fire. some witnesses say he was not holding a knife when he was shot. a disturbing pattern. morgan hill police questioning more possible victims as a personal trainer is being investigated for molestation. david smith was arrested tuesday outside his wolfpack gym. they identified five victims so far, and talking to more women who come forward and police say the women tell remarkably similar tales of what happened. >> they were still focused on

the santa clara county jail broken system, at least it's called broken and needs reform. >> a blue ribbon system compared to it a plane that has crashed because of quote pilot error. the commission recommends new leadership. the santa clara board of supervisors accepted the commission's report yesterday but not said if they will go forward on their recommendation. >> at 4:41, looking to get rid of the statute of limitation s n certain crimes eliminating the 10 year statute of limitations on rape and child molestation charges. the senate committee cleared that yesterday and no limit on emotional scars. critics say memory gets hazy with times. this comes after dozens of women accuse bill cosby of sexual abuse that happened months ago.

mexico. the volcano exploded tuesday, spewing a large column new video to show you this morning of a volcano in mexico launching 6,000 feet in the area lying 6,000 miles southeast of new mexico city. nearly 3,000 people live near it. a national wonder. we're always wondering here how long can we keep this streak of amazing weather going. >> i think tonight, what are you tra tracking? >> it will start to move into the north bay tonight and the rest of us farther to the south will see the rain before tomorrow morning's commute. we start out dry this morning, temperature in the mid to upper 50s, rather mid-50s across the bay area. let's break it down for old today. we start out at 52 degrees at 6:00 in the morning. as we go through the day, high temperature making it into the lower 60s. at oracle arena this evening, 60

degrees from the west at 10-20 miles an hour, breezy with just a few clouds, but perfect weather. also for some baseball as well. looking at all our microclimates. 69 degrees in saratoga, and 65 in burlingame. up to 58 degrees. santa rosa looking at 67. 67 in danville and fremont today, 68 degrees. we are once again tracking that rain as we start to see the cloud cover increasing later today and winds picking up, too. the rain starts to move to the north bay right about midnight. it could be heavy at times. a lot of that rain does weaken as it continues to move farther to the south making it by 6:00 in the morning. then we will have showers tapering off, maybe a couple sprinkles left the rest of the morning and winds pick up as the skies clear as that system

continues to move to the east. we'll also be watching to see how much rain we get out of this system because it doesn't look like much unless you're farther to the north and you have a tenth of an inch and closer to .2 of an inch and other spats and san jose morgan hill not a lot of moisture with this. it would be nice to wring out a little bit more rain but looks like a nice one. in the sierra we see shades of blue with possibility of snow and behind that in lower elevationsplacerville, we have rain there and even in the afternoon. during that time frame we're looking 2-3 inches above 7,000 feet. the weekend forecast clears it out, all of that moves out of here and we have highs reaching to the low 70s on saturday in san francisco. some of the inland areas reaching into the mid 80s.
