tonight a man is in jail for killing his wivment a frightening scene at a family friendly event children run for safety after strong wind blow throw. evening. a chaotic scene as strong winds swept through leaving some people injured. christie. >> reporter: they wrapped up this event early because of that strong wind that blew through. we're told firefighters had to be called out, at many as two people may have suffered minor injuries in this. i spoke with one of the people who was here for this relay for life american cancer society fundraiser and he showed video of what that dust looked like, scattering tents. there were over 600 people registered for the event.

we're told many of them had been here since yesterday. they had their tents and delongind belongings out when it change in had. >> we heard the wind hitting the porta potties and then it picked up the dust and it traveled through and picked up anything. >> reporter: now when we arrived we did see one person being taken out by para medics. one girl told us that a tent bumped into her. these were tents staked into the ground. they did decide to call it early so everyone could go home and be safe. we're told the event was supposed to end at 6:00. reporting live, christie smith. strong winds a big concern today throughout the bay area. a live look outside right now from our tower cam, the wind

blowing steady. we have more with today's dangerous weather. we've been watching a few wind gusts and occasionally a few dust devil events like what happened in san jose. 23 mile an hour winds in san francisco. high pressure building off to the north and west a strong area of low pressure and the bay area in between these two areas of pressure. at times we've been seeing those wind gusts up to about 45 miles an hour. wind speeds begin to back off and as our skies are relatively clear a mild evening. temperatures in the 50s and 60 and tomorrow morning temperatures running cool, low

50s to start, but the wind tomorrow turns more offshore. as it does so we will see temperatures in some spots warming another five to ten degrees. we'll talk about that warm up in a few minutes. in the north bay crews are cleaning up a mess after a tree came crashing down on cars and homes. it happened at about 8:00 this morning. you can see that tree was enormous. three cars were damaged. branchs came down on a neighbor's fence and another on another neighbor's roof. >> we're concerned that another tree may fall and hurt some of the people that walk by or something so we're going to alleviate the weight from the surrounding trees. >> the city expects everything to be back to normal tomorrow.

conditions out there, though a little too gusty at times with winds up to 45 miles an hour. mid to upper 70s across most of the bay area and in san francisco we can look at some of the temperatures we're seeing along the coast. around the peninsula coast it's 67 degrees, but if you head down highway 17 santa cruz, 80 degrees outside. quite a change depending on where you are. on the coast you have upper 80s. the wind are part of the story today. north winds moving down into santa cruz, these are down sloping winds as the air compresses. roughly about 5 to 6 degrees of warming for 1,000 feet dropping. we should see more tomorrow as the winds turn more offshore.

we'll see warmer temperatures tomorrow. for the evening we'll hang on to the low 70s and then by 11:00 the wind speeds will back off. 50s and low 60s for late night plans and then tomorrow morning a chilly start and temperatures through the afternoon climbing into the mid to upper 70s and 80s. what's interesting mid day tomorrow a little less wind, but the direction here very important now you're seeing offshore winds around san francisco. so for the peninsula and san francisco especially tomorrow yurp going to notice temperatures warming up five to seven degrees. san francisco in the 70s. close to 80 degrees for the north bay highs and low to mid 80s and 80s around pleasantton.

so we're going to see mostly sunny skies. santa cruz and areas east of san joes a, there's a little instability out there. we'll watch for that from about 3:00 to 6:00. and then the other batch of clouds we're watching is going to lead to a cool down as we head into monday and tuesday. the return of the stratus clouds begin to surge in as we head into is monday and that will lead to temperatures dropping down. wednesday, bigger drop in temperatures and a chance of showers. early next week we begin to see cooling and this pattern will be similar to what we saw last wednesday. middle part of the week plan on a few showers and below average temperatures as we head towards tuesday and wednesday. back to you. all right. thanks very much.

afternoon. is it possible we could steph a little earlier than predicted just last week? >> i don't know. that's the question that everybody wants to have answered, but it could be sooner rather than later. yesterday steph curry was optimistic he could return sooner than the projected two weeks after suffering a grade one mcl sprain and now his head coach is at least open to the possibility. while curry has yet to resume any on court activity, they're not ruling anything out except fora return to game two. >> i would be shocked if he played tuesday. he hasn't been out on the floor yet. so i'm not going to rule him out for tuesday, but not much of a chance he would play then, but he is supposed to get on the floor soon. i don't think today. i think hopefully in the next few days and if he can progress
