let's take a live look at san francisco from our emeryville cameras. in the city today is where activists are calling for a major strike across san francisco. they want to protest what they are calling excessive use of force by san francisco police. stephanie chuang joining us live from city hall. protesters are hoping to send a powerful message to the mayor and police chief. >> that's right. supporters of the hung rer strike, the frisco five say a thousand people will be here for the general strike today. they are spreading their message on social media to mobilize more people to be here for this rally. staying home from work and keeping kids out of school. they have one demand, the firing of police chief greg suhr. there was chaotic fighting night

where police arrested 33 people. topping metal detectors and smashing the front door. they expect kids to show up today. >> when the frisco five were in front of mission police station before they were taken to the hospital, their parents were bringing them by and showing how important it is to be an activist and stand up for yourself. >> now the frisco five ended their 17-day hunger strike saturday night. they are fighting to regain their health. the mayor has most recently said he supports chief suhr. the police department released a statement saying, we are going to facilitate first amendment activities that they do not violate law or impact the rights of others. this is said to be a peaceful protest here today set to start

it happened yesterday in pomona, about 30 miles east of los angeles. drivers on the freeway began calling 911 when they saw the plane going down. firefighters say the pilot narrowly missed crashing one person ends up in the hospital after a plane lands on the roof. firefighters say the pilot narrowly missed crashing throughout building and said the plane lost power. the person taken to the hospital is expected to be okay.

may feel mist in your face. that is a lot of moisture still left over from the system we had this weekend and low clouds continuing. all our microclimates show temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. feeling mild. let's drop in on the north bay. 52 in novato. no need for the umbrella. we see this clearing out as we break it down from palo alto low 60s today and lunch time. then reaching to the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies this afternoon. our highs reaching 71 in san jose. 67 in foster city. 63. low 70s for the north bay while hayward pops out at 68. this evening, the blue jays will be at at&t park versus the giants.
