an easy drive for the live shot shows you 101. that's the volume we are dealing with. back to you. >> thank you. developing story in south bay this morning. two people are dead two, different crime scenes spanning several miles. this morning investigators are expected to continue looking for clues in the los gatos. deputies spent hours at a home in brentwood estates after neighbors heard gun shots. they found a man smot to death inside a home and two others injured. witnesses saw a silver prius leaving the scene. they spotted it and chased down the driver. during that chase, the driver crashed at the hamilton avenue exit. a passenger in the car was eventually declared dead at the hospital. neighbors up at redwood estates say they believe the shooting victim was a father of two who moved to the community about a year ago. he was a nice guy.

he had nice kids. he was active in their lives. played sports with them and stuff. it's sad. >> investigators are not revealing who the victims are. now the case against the undocumented immigrant charged with killing kate steinly could finally be moving forward today. juan francisco lopez sanchez is expected in court 9:00 in the morning for a hearing to set a trial date. he is facing second degree murder charges in the shooting death along the embarcadero last july. the shooting sparked a debate. another freeway shooting in the east bay. a pregnant mother of four is dead. it happened around noon yesterday in pittsburgh. a white car going west on highway 4 targeted the victim's sedan. she was expecting that fifth

child. family members identified her as chaniqua marie. >> somebody on that highway seen something. please come forward. she has four kids. four kids. >> a male passenger was shot and is expected to survive. >> tlsh 20 shootings since november. police do not believe that yesterday's shooting is related to those shootings. two earthquakes struck the north bay within 45 minutes of one another. first a 3.5 magnitude quake hid three miles from the geysers. then a 2.6 quake rattled the same area 11:15. no injuries and no damage to report. the party is probably still going on as we talk about things shaking. a live look at oracle arena

morning clouds. it will be clearing and warm today. lunch time temperature 61 in san francisco and 71 in the tri-valley. we'll warm up today. will be another warm one for the valleys in the south bay up to 1. 54, so nice and comfortable along the coast. our temperatures even out as we head into the weekend, looking cooler. i'll talk more about that coming up in about 10 minutes. let's head over to mike. smooth sailing. >> it is smooth sailing across the bay bridge. this is a crystal clear view. beautiful flow of traffic. the treasure island tunnel. we'll zoom out because you see the bay bridge there. the rest of the bridges for most of your commuters. san mateo bridge and dunbar bridge just fine here. south bay has that one crash 280 off to 85 southbound. dublin live camera shows there are cars out there, but no slowing through dublin.

transportation leaders plan to meet to discuss the tower. flooding at the tower's foundation left suspension rods vulnerable to corrosion. nbc bay area reported yesterday, an additional $10 to $10 million is needed to fix that problem. the budget is $90 million in the red. >> done a lot of work and it's been a long, hard road but everybody's had a good sense of this is important to do. >> to improve the strength of the suspension rods, caltrans crews will have to remove old grout and replace it with a water groove seal. that is expected to take at least two years. steph chuang is following this story for us and will have a live report at 5:00. 4:40 right now. investigative unit exclusive. did you know we have laws that call for equal coverage of physical and mental health? the stigma is disappearing, but people with severe mental
