that's what you saw, what is this i'm seeing? >> we'll shake it off. >> let's pick up the beat here. >> we'll pick up those temperatures today. it is really going to get hot this afternoon. some spots will be hitting 90 for the tri-valley, the delta and inland valleys. now the temperature is at 59 in the north bay. also in the south bay 55 in san francisco. very warm temperatures today and tomorrow and goes down in time for the weekend. we'll talk about this roller coaster weather coming up. you already have a crash on 580? >> we do have a crash in the tri-valley. the issue is not because of the crash. it's near the crash.

there was a crash that looks like it just cleared. this is similar to yesterday where the paving was going around around greenville to altamont pass. again, we'll track this all way over on the another end. back to you. >> it is 4:32. a trip to the dog groomer ends in tragedy. a san francisco man is now under arrest facing criminal animal cruelty charges after a dog died in his care. he was arrested sunday at the pet smart in san mateo. police say when the dog's owner came to pick up the 1-year-old dog named henry. >> two years ago my dog was almost killed and had to have a

major hip surgery where they cut out his femur head. >> pet smart released a statement, "we are conducting an internal investigation and will take immediate action based on our findings." additionally, we are working with local authorities, the individual involved has been placed on suspension pending the outcome of this investigation." >> gun fire rattles nerves. authorities briefly closed highway 4 in the middle of rush hour. it started when someone fired a rifle in a parking lot. it damaged cars but thankfully didn't hit any people. officers caught up to four suspects traveling in two cars on westbound 4. investigators combed the highway but found no evidence of more shots fired. the city of pittsburgh is taking action in the light of recent rash of highway shootings. >> two more shootings in the last two days.

leaders are moving forward with a plan to install cameras along highway 4. it will cost $100,000 for a network of cameras. last week a mother of four, pregnant mother of four was killed in a shooting on highway 4. >> when i get on the freeway, i am a little concerned. my family members are concerned. my wife won't take the freeway unless she absolutely has to 0. >> criminals all too often try to use highway 4 to evade police. at this point, the highway is not equipped with cameras through pittsburgh. it's not just surveillance cameras. leaders addressed the controversy over crime statistics. a former officer claims the police department manipulated those stats to make the city's crime rates appear lower than it is. the city council says it's going to support the chief and the department until an investigation can be completed. the d.a. and sheriff's office

are looking into those claims. 4:34. a 15-year veteran of the department has been arrested and charged with overtime fraud. he faces one count of grand theft and four counts defrauding a government agency. he's been suspended without pay. more fallout for the oakland police department currently wrapped up in a sex scandal. a fourth oakland police officer is now on administrative leave. sources tell nbc bay area several officers had sex with a minor last year. last friday she posted that her sexual relations with the officers began after she turned 18. internal affairs and prosecutors are refusing to release any more information of the names of the officers involved. possible troubles at tesla. did tesla under pay about 40 factory workers? the mercury news uncovered an alleged labor violation.

the coastline. mid 70s there and low 90s for those inland areas. looking now at the bay bridge. nice calm start to the day. mostly clear skies. as we take a look at some of these temperatures now, it is 55 in the east bay in san francisco, in the peninsula it is 58. let's drop in on the north bay now. it's 63 now. yontville at 55. breaking it down for livermore because this will be one of those spots where temperatures really ramp up quickly. at 55 at 6:00 in the morning. then as we go into 10:00, 73. then we just don't stop there. it will be the low 80s at lunch time. 88 at 3:00 by the time you head home, still toasty. air conditioner on in the car as you most likely sit in traffic. it will be 76 for the a's game later this evening. fairly warm but feeling more

comfortable by the end of the game. breezy at times. winds coming in from the northwest. a look at all the microclimates. 87 in san jose. palo alto 86. mid 70s for san francisco. 93 in fairfield. oakland up to 82. 90 in pleasanton. 70 day forecast shows our temperatures won't stay here. as we go into the day tomorrow, one more hot day. then we see those temperatures drop off in time for the weekend we'll be below average for friday and saturday. could mean we should see showers in the forecast by saturday. once again, temperatures that will be much more comfortable. we'll talk more about those showers coming up. do you still have that slowing at livermore? >> you're talking about 30 degree temperature shift there. my news is not quite so dramatic. here is 580 dublin. look at the maps. you have your expected speed limit most of the bay.

east 580. to the altamont pass, that's where you have the slowing from the paving work. sounds like one lane is open, maybe two. you might like if you're heading over to the altamont pass. westbound, your typical build coming into the area. as you move to the bay, there are no problems for the upper east shore. we'll look at the bay bridge and see that the view from emeryville, an easy drive. north bay a smooth flow of traffic. a number of cars on 101 from novato to the city. helping you get to work. google parent company alphabet is launching a pilot program in the bay area. >> landon dowdy is live at cnbc world headquarters. good morning. >> good morning to you both.

>> good morning. anyone hoping to dine out can look up a restaurant's inspection history on the city's website. we discovered those violation records can be wiped clean. so you can't find them online. take the all season chinese restaurant in diamond heights. we discovered health violations forced the city to close down that location at least seven times over just three years. but you won't find those violations on the city's website. the restaurant filed paperwork with the city to change ownership. the city says by law that change in ownership requires that a restaurant's old inspection records be removed from the city's website. we discovered even when new owners of the company were listed, they still worked for the same corporation. later when a new corporation was listed, the people in charge of that corporation were the same owners listed before.
