fog. it's now 48 in the north because but peninsula, as well. most other spots are in the low to mid 50s. today's forecast brings it up into the 60s today. we'll have a chance of spotty rain in the north bay hills. elsewhere mix of sun and clouds with comfortable temperatures. i'll talk more about that. let's head over to mike about fremont. >> we had overnight road work. here we are looking at our shot. we have the block and north of there as we look at the map we had closures. southbound construction continues. at 4:31 a grass fire

developing in monterey county. the metz fire is in the southeast in a agricultural area. it appears they are making headway. the fire is now about 20% contained. no structures or homes have burned. we heard this before. the trial in sierra lamar's murder case could begin later today. kris sanchez is at the courthouse. are there any possible hold-ups? >> unfortunately there is a possible hold-up because one of the defense attorneys is still going to try on another case and thus it could delay this particular case. torres now 25 years 0 old is charged with kidnapping and killing 15-year-old sierra lamar

in 2012. you heard countless times she left home heading to school and never made it to the bus stop. his lawyers asked to submit more evidence for testing and there is that chance today's much-anticipated start could be delayed again because the one defense attorney is on another case. it has been four years since the 15-year-old disappeared. her body has never been found. this at this point is a capital murder trial for torres. he could pay with life if found guilty. 4:33. three people in jail. one was arrested at a swat raid saturday. she is keith green's ex-girlfriend. other people were arrested over the weekend. green's body was found last week in the north bay.

to baltimore where a judge is expected to decide the fate of one of those six police officers who was charged over a year ago in the freddie gray case. edward nero was charmed with second degrees assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct. he was on bike patrol when a group of officers chased and arrested gray last april. freddie gray died from his spinal injuries suffered when being transported to jail. his death sparked riots and protests in baltimore. news out of vietnam. the u.s. is lifting its ban on arm sales to that country. it's taken more than a half century. president obama made the announcement as he is visiting the south asian country and his move lifts a decades-long embargo. >> sales will still meet strict requirements, including those related to human rights. this change will ensure that vietnam has access to the

>> good morning. we have such chilly weather starting out these mornings and slight chance of showers in the north bay. let's check it out as we go hour by hour. we will have a lot of clouds. once again, a chance of rain mainly off towards the north into the east. a look at all the microclimates today. we are keeping it below average. san jose with a high of 70. 76 in gilroy. half moon bay 67. low 60s in san francisco. 72 in napa. we'll also have low 70s in parts of the east bay with mid 70s in the tri-valley. not a bad day. we'll see some more of this same kind of weather throughout the week. no major changes. let's head over to mike to get an update on a crash. >> peninsula traffic like the rest of the bay looking light. here is the bay bridge. speed sensors don't reflect any problems but we do have a crash

on convicted drunk drivers. supporters will gather in sacramento today. ==vo== there is a new bill that would the brakes on convicted drunk drivers. senator jerry hill's bill requires mission interlock devices for convicted drivers. this week that bill will get the second test in the state senate. the senate public safety committee approved it back in march. the state of california paid out millions of dollars to citizens with run-ins with highway patrol officers during the last decades. tonight they have new information on a story they broke. the case of a brooklyn man who nearly died after a officer restrained him in handcuffs

we don't see that all week long. we'll have this area of low pressure moving offshore. it could produce a few showers north and to the east of us. heading into the weekend, i know we are hoping for beach weather. looks like we'll see this mat earn continuing with some highs only in the 60s and 70s all across the bay area. a look at our microclimates and what to expect. 62 in san francisco, the peninsula. 66 and the low 70s for the tri-valley south bay as well as the north bay. let's head over to mike. what's happening at the bay bridge? >> memoriville, the treasure island tunnel, we are looking for something mid span. we'll see that eastbound getting out of the tunnel traffic does flow smoothly. watching there are reports of something going on around that treasure island off ramp. there may still be one lane
