coast. temperatures in the 40s and 50s. as we approach noon, we'll see numbers around the tri-valley climbing through the low 80s. highs today in the low 90s in livermore and pleasanton. 7 and the trend ahead turns even hotter as we head towards tuesday. we'll talk about mid 90s in the forecast over the next few days in our full forecast. 4:31. breaking news in iraq. isis has unleashed a new wave of bombing in commercial areas around baghdad. 20 people confirmed dead in three separate attacks. we have new video. the largest single bombing killed eight people near a military checkpoint. after the attack, isis claimed responsibility. this comes as iraqi troops launch a new offensive to retake the city of fallujah which has been in the hands of isis over two years. happening today, memorial day commemorations take place

may be responsible for pinson's kidnapping. he was involved in a shootout last week. questions and outrage linger with relief for two parents after their child fell in a zoo gorilla exhibit prompting a lethal response from workers. authorities say a 4-year-old boy fell into the zoo igo's gorilla exhibit. >> made a tough choice and they made the right choice because they saved that little boy's life. >> thousands have signed an online petition criticizing the zoo and police for how they handled the situation and there are calls for the unidentified parents to be held accountable.

in northwest of san antonio, ten inches of rain fell in just a few hours saturday night. the coast guard searching for a man who swept away between freeport and galveston. rescue work are are desperately working for an 11-year-old boy swept away by flood waters. here it is going to be hot. can we draw conclusions from it's going to be hot. does it tell us about our summer? >> typically highs would be in the 70s. this is unusual it could stretch to seven days that the numbers are in the 80s and 90s. friday we might see a cooling trend. it is starting to trend hotter. outside if you view the bay bridge, you see a clear view there. some spots, along the coast and golden gate seeing patchy low

today in the upper 60s. if you head to the high country, lake tahoe and yosemite, looking hot. should see less scattered thunder showers. 87 for the afternoon around yosemite. here is the culprit why things are going to heat up again. high pressure strengthening. first half of the week. we had the spike of temperatures for pleasanton. low 90s. friday mid 90s in the forecast. san jose we'll see numbers in the upper 80s. warm as 90 by friday. san francisco upper 60s to low 70s. cooldown towards wednesday. stay tuned as we head toward next weekend. one thing we hope to bring down this heat will be this area of low pressure. could bring up some thunderstorms across southern california. an early outlet to next weekend's forecast will bring the coolest temperatures of the next seven days by next sunday.

independents with a strong team and real chance." could that be rubio or romney, someone to split the republican vote? he says the conservatives behind him are light weights. chaos erupted in houston shortly after 10:00 yesterday morning. a gunman taking aim at random people even firing at officers. one man was killed sitting in his car. a police helicopter was hit five times. police say this could have been much worse. >> we do not know what started this. they were shooting randomly. just at whoever happened to come upon the scene. these officers did what they had to do. they took care of one another and contained the scene. the man has not been identified. the officers hurt have been released from the hospital.

a traffic stop was caught on dash cam. a florida officer pulled over a man driving with his head lights 0. the driver was wearing a bulletproof vest. the driver fired once as the officer opened the car door and asked him to step out. after a short chase he arrested the suspect. a soccer star safe after being rescued by mexican police. the rescue came south of the texas border. he had been visiting his hometown when kidnappers took him at gun point on saturday. state and federal police quickly jumped into action and managed to rescue him before midnight last night. he is said to be okay. mexican authorities took him away quickly.

lifeguards will decide later whether to reopen a southern california beach which was evacuated yesterday. there was a shark attack a woman swimming about 150 yards offshore was attacked by a shark or perhaps some other sea animal. it happened yesterday afternoon. lifeguards used a boat to pull the woman to safety. she was wearing a wetsuit but did suffer bite marks on her torso and arm. the wounds are consistent with a shark attack. a florida teenager recovering after he was bitten on the leg by a shark. the 13-year-old boy was swimming in two feet off neptune beach when that attacked happened east of jacksonville, florida. he was quickly brought to shore by another swimmer. >> we both went under and he came back up. shark bit my leg. >> the boy was taken to the
